I heard this on Tiktok or Instagram (can't remember which one) from the lines "You took me for a fool. You stole my youth....Then killed my light." and immediately tears fell. I've been trapped in an abusive marriage for over 15years with my middle school sweetheart, my first love and who I thought was my soulmate, and though mentally I'm ready to go now, financially I can't afford to. So I can relate to those lines in the song deeply.😭

Though I can proudly say with every gig I'm closer to my goal of getting a car, and one I get that car I can find a more stable income, and once I get that I can use that income to prove I can afford rent and finally move into my own apartment! This is so meaningful to me, because this is litrallz my situation all the time. Men see me as this beautiful thing that only nods to everything, but when they experience that I feel deeply, laugh and cry so hard, when they experience that I need comfort, that I hate being only seen like a body, then I'm too much. It hurts being only seen as beauty or body, when you're human, and have emotions so deeply. I hope everyone will be loved, just like a human. I love Laufey's voice and music and everything. Can't help but notice one thing about the videography of the 3rd verse. The final climax is huge and dramatic musically, and offers huge contrast to verse 1 and 2. But the videography stayed at the same low-key level, if not reduced to be even more passive in nature. I wished the videography direction rose to the same level of energy as the music did. Laufey's music is as always, faultless.

Song of the year, I haven't heard or seen anything better than this. This may as well be song of the ever. Idk man. This song is the most beautifully crafted thing in human history. Deserves at least 200 Grammys just for the first second of the video. I think my sickness was cured after the 12th second so obviously deserves at least 1000 Nobel Prize awards just for that. I love the fact that in the first scene with the fence, you can tell it feels like something that's happened before- that it feels like a prison, a prison of the same things happening over and over. I don't know if this was intended, but to me, the first scene with the fence (again) looks like she was hesitant to trust him, her gut was telling her to not trust him, but she did anyways. So sorry if this sounds insulting, I'm not good with words... This really is one of the best MVs I've ever watched before!^_^ The fact you can tell so much stuff with her eyes, I love it
