It's a conglomeration of pistol design criteria long established in the industry. Yet the execution of the ideas is just elegant. It's a design by a master craftsman. Easily worth the $5k dollars when considering two sight rails, 4 magazines, a beautiful competition holster and an optic. Plus signatures edition never to be repeated. Truly a piece of history. Epic firearms history. This gun has already caused a huge political stir in the competition community. However, I purchased it simply because I like it.

It just needs a 75%reduction in price for just the gun and with all options to go up to 50% of the current price, maybe they could make the construction of the components more efficient without quality loss.

Well it only took 20 years for FNH to get competition for the FN 57 so this should take roughly 50 years before we get a clone that I can afford.

Study the H&K P7m8. FIxed barrel, low bore axis, delayed gas blowback. The Alien has a lower bore Axis but the P7m8 is close. Plus it has the squeeze cocker. Oh and the P7 design, the original PSP, debuted in 1976 - 44 years ago! I shot the Alien on Media Day. It is a very good handgun, but all the major engineering principles were pioneered by H&K decades ago. The $5000 price for the Alien is also ridiculous, even for a limited edition.

I have shot many different guns. I have tried all of the latest and greatest. The Hudson H9, the ARCHON Type B, STI race guns, Wilson Combat, Nighthawk, you name it. Yes, some are very nice, and you can see the price of some of these firearms in the craftsmanship. Some guns have better triggers than others. Some are mor balanced. The bottom line is that none of them hit the target for me. I still had to aim and use the proper grip. This gun is no different. It will not guide the projectile to the bullseye . It may be a joy to shoot, but the price is not anywhere near reasonable to justify any of the benefits of shooting it. If I had 5-6k laying around, I don’t think I could justify this. It is a production pistol. Everyone thinks that a gun will make them better. In the end, you will notice little difference between this and other pistols you own in terms of results and probably feel.

i'd leave to see laugo build a full-auto version just for stress-testing with magazines (Kel-tec did this with their PMR-30 which is hilarious since their production model had horrible feeding problems but the machine pistol version feeds reliably)

well, from what I heard, there are three things that generally cause malfunctions in the pmr 30, the first would be the way to load the magazine, as there is a certain technique so that the rim do not interferes the feeding, second the design of the feeding ramp interferes the feeding (but there are parts on the aftermarket that solve this problem), third would be the recoil spring that does not have much force to push the ammo (also has parts on the aftermarket that solve this problem)

Seeing them listed here in the states starting at $5,999 USD (and "sold out", mind you).. That gun needs to be a complete competition spec and combat tough firearm to be worth that price. If the trigger leaves anything to be desired it's value is totally lost at that price. I think its a great concept, seems wonderfully executed, and the Czechs are great firearms manufacturers, but Idk that that price is justifiable.

Hope the price comes way down. It's a revolutionary design for 9mm, but dang 5k lowest price? I was so excited a year back seeing this (I love browning buckmarks...), then the price... It's hard to justify say 3.8K over the price of other guns that perform 95% as well as it. The big problem here is the initial promos/hype got everyone excited, then the price came and made it a niche product.

I'd love to see this thing in 10mm, and with how easy it is to remove the upper half I could see a third party like mech tech making a carbine conversion upper like they do for glocks and 1911's, that's if it catches on and man I hope it does.

Thanks for the video. I'm always looking for info on the Alien and there is not much out there. I can understand the anger at the price, but inovation and low production numbers = expensive. I'm a bit scared of paying that kind of money for a production gun with no custom work, but I look at it this way, if I can buy one pistol that I love to shoot above all others then it's worth the price. Most of us watching gun videos on You Tube probably have 6 or more pistols at home with each having their strengths and weaknesses. The problem is dividing your training time anong those different guns. I like the old quote: "Beware of the man with one gun.... he probably knows how to use it". If this gun is the game changer they say it is, I'll probably start selling off some of my other pistols gathering dust in my safe. That's the way I'm going to justify this insane purchase price. Reading the comments about the editing and music, I didn't even notice that stuff until I started reading the comments, I was focused on that beautiful pistol. But yeah that music is pretty bad.

Looks like a great gun. I was looking at the possibility for Production Optics as it would be like shooting open in a minor division. However, with the latest decision to disallow the Alien gun to compete in Production Optics, I definitely will not be venturing down this path :(.

Any significant change since your first shots 6 months ago? things like: - noticeably 'loose' fittings - change in how the action and trigger feels - experimented with any other magazines (p10f, cz75, etc..) - do you miss your shadow 2 or has the alien made all others obsolete but really, looking for another deep dive video. Lancer is finally distributing them in the states, but it will be at least 2 years before can I get my copy. cheers. 😉

Yes! We only use "Geco 124gr 9x19" in this video - thats a European based Brand. We did use the STP Perfect Classic 9x19.

What do you do with 3 Pistols that will still be outperfromed? Competition shooters buy this gun to have the edge. Why not buy 3 CZ75 SP-01 Phantom for one TSO? But I see it very concerning that the production series isn't only restricted for huge production number guns that police & military are using. It was meant to compete on a smaller budget without lots of changes to the guns, to get there and use what you use at work.

Tolles Video, das Konzept der Alien ist genial, hab sie bisher ein paar Mal bei Michael Stryć in Aktion gesehen, sehr beeindruckend. Habt ihr auch verschiedene Ladungen ausprobiert, wie reagiert die Waffe auf niedrige oder hohe Gasdrücke? Bei der Funktionsweise sicher nicht uninteressant.

Bei Munition mit hohem Gasdruck und leichterem Geschoss verhält sich die Pistole sogar noch etwas besser. D.h. geringer Rückstoß, weniger Hochschlag. Die Pistole läuft mit S&B 115gr. flacher als mit S&B 124gr. Wiederlader werden mit Sicherheit noch etwas mehr aus der Alien rausholen können.

For $6000 I don't think so buddy. Seems like a wonderful gun but not for that price tag for a price tag I can buy a scar 17HI can also buy a John wick 2011. Or I can buy a scar 17H or I can get a scar 17H with a Rock Island tac ultrar 9 mm and put another $600 into it and get a gun that shoots just as flat and awesome with 17 to 19 rounds

Thanks for the video. Hopefully aliens land in US stores soon. May I ask: what is the length of the picatinny rail? It looks slightly shorter than the shadow 2. Thanks again 🙂

Thx! We had fun making the video. We think they will soon ship to the USA. Will answer you on the exact length of the rail later. The funny thing is about the "sight rail" what makes the distance (front sight to real sight) longer on the ALIEN. But the slide is a lot shorter.

Looks like RU-vid removed the ability to dm. That’s okay, approximate length is all I was after. I’m trying to figure out weather the Inforce APL gen 3 will fit flush to the alien muzzle. On my Shadow 2, it sits 4 maybe 6 mm shorter. So I’m guessing it will look pretty good on the alien.
