I listen to Colt Ford and the Lacs. I don't really like mainstream country music at all because it's not true country, it should be renamed because it's trash compared to Johnny Cash or similar song artists from back in the good old days. I don't get why a lot of people hate rap to be mixed with country. I can understand if the rap sounds like its taking over the song, but this wasn't like that at all. It still has a very country sound to it, just with a little more upbeat vibe that some rap has (I say some because a lot of rap just doesn't have rhythm, maybe someone understands?) Sort of like when Florida Georgia had a remix of Cruise, that had a rap vibe yet it still kept to the feel of the song. I actually would prefer country rap over the real rap nowadays, just because it has a more down home feel instead of just songs about money and sex.

Music does evolve over time though. I grew up hearing Reba, Straight, Twain, Anderson, Byrd and others, but I know music does change and morph over time, other styles influence each other. It happens, that's why we have such a variety to choose from today. May or may not be to your tastes but it gives people options. We must remember, a lot can change in two decades or more. Our songs of youth were amazing for their time, but they got there through the evolution of styles that comes from such cross mixing, it is only natural today's music will begin to mix the styles we remember as very separate in our youth.
