Too be fair, its the only time one really can and is also necessary for a 5 sessions of 7hr straight tattooing. You sign up to be a canvas on a show were they are timed, and competing against one another doing challenges, and stuff way outside of their comfort zone all while being stressed the fuck out, youre agreeing that youre ok with being put through the ringer for a free tattoo. Gaurentee most of the people on this show, in their own shops are way nicer and more considerate towards their customers, than they are too canvases on the show.

Def the best approach. If a canvas doesn't trust the artist, they'll feel the pain more. Having another person's trust hoes a loooonnnggg way in relieving pain. (said as a midwife of many years ☺️). Fear is more painful, for sure

The back is not a painful as the side. I sat through my back tattoos so easy. The side I had to take a break twice.

Any decent tattoo artist will do the painful and sensitive areas first to get the worst out of the way for the patient. I got knuckle bangers and the sections closer to the tip of your finger hurt a LOT more than the other sections. My artist did the tips first and then went from there. Even though the knuckles hurt as a whole, I barely even felt the 2nd half of the session because I was still feeling the pain from the 1st half

Without sounding sexist and acknowledging that I’m about to paint with a wide brush just hear me out. Growing up I was the only son with 3 sisters so I got to witness much of the frustration my sisters experienced. I’m 45 and 2 were older, 1 younger. So we were 70s 80s and 90s kids. In many ways women were still fighting up hill battles. So finally to my point... it has been my experience that women breaking into a boys club focus more and work harder to feel equal. Listening to her say that she basically didn’t want to compete against slackers made me think of my sisters. It makes me happy to see her so confident

She is probably my favorite contestant. So many of the artists can be so demeaning and rude or even outright sexist. They can be so rude and uncaring towards their canvases. She's so nice the whole time and speaks to her canvas in a way that feels personal and kind. She's got a personality that's such a breath of fresh air compared to so many other contestants on this show and she's got the technique, bedside manner, and art skills to match. She absolutely deserves this win.

Its not even that. Don't get me wrong, she was a strong competitor, but Jason didn't follow the challenge, and Danis while being Bio-Mech, imo wasn't as Bio-Mech as it could have been. Her tattoo was incredible and she deserved the win, I just think the other 2 could have done so much better.

Oh there's many like her, all my artists have been fucking amazing and chill. The last girl hugged me at the end and just made me feel so comfortable, i'm going back to her to get a pin-up girl in her style which is traditional japanese and i'm absolutely excited for it 😊 My best advice is make an appointment with the artist to discuss like get an estimate on what you want and that'll give you an impression of who they are as an artist.

I don't mind the japanese god, I think the ones who got women with naked chest were in a tougher situation. Since women have to cover their chest by today's standards, it just gets akward to have a naked woman tattooed on your body, when you go to a swimming pool or the beach. You could just avoid getting to those places but I'd rather not be thrown out of somewhere because of a tattoo. And I wouldn't want to wait until it's finally appropriate again for women to show their chest

she reminds me of my artist. puts a lot of thought into her work, has so much passion and drive, and she also interacts well with the canvas/client. She makes good conversation with him, is really thorough with her explanation of the process+plan, and is really friendly.. wish i could get some work from her.

Traditional BioMech is A LOT more intricate than people give it credit for. People traditionally assume it's just putting metal gears "under" the skin when that is SO wrong. BioMech means taking the Biology of the human body and adding Mechanical elements to that body to increase its..."productivity" or usefulness. You have to incorporate BOTH elements, like having a pump inside that regulates adrenaline flow, much like the "dripper" (I have no idea what it is actually called) with pain meds attached to your IV when you are in the hospital if you've been in an accident or had surgery.

Laura is the most deserving person in this season of Ink Master, it's a good thing that she won. Her attitude was right, she wasn't cocky at all, so disciplined too and most of all....her tattoos were awesome, she deserved every bit of that victory.
