My Mom always made her banana pudding with homemade pudding, Nila wafers, bananas and then made meringue for the top with the leftover egg whites. Just a few years ago my cousin made the version with sweetened condensed milk and to me that was a whole other level! But then there are few things that aren’t fabulous with sweetened condensed milk! 😉☺️😋 Don’t get me wrong... they are both incredibly yummy, but the latter is easier and delicious!
Omg yummm!!! Every once in a while I get a wild craving for banana cream pie and it won't go away for like a month lol. I know which recipe I'll be using next time that happens!!!
Laura, did you years ago make vanilla pudding recipe that you could keep in a jar ? Fantastic banana pudding. Love, hugs and prayers to you and your family. Best wishes from Northern Ireland.❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏
Let me stick up for pudding skin. While it may not be desirable in this application, it sure is not yucky. I always insisted on my chocolate pudding being left uncovered to cool when my mom made it.
Laura that looks wonderful. Can not wait to make it. I have been looking for your mississippi pot roast and do not see it. Is it going to be posted? Thanks.
Surprisingly I like it without the bananas lol. Don’t judge me judge yourself. Lol I will try this version of custard tho. I do feel bad for how many chemicals are in the instant pudding.
Banana pudding is my favorite dessert my mom use to make it using a banana pudding mix but since I found your recipe for vanilla pudding I have made it using that but just curious is there a way to make homemade banana pudding? Is that a thing? Just wondering if anyone knows
Yes, I make homemade banana pudding regularly. U make the custard/pudding on the stovetop from scratch using a combination of sugar, flour, milk, egg yolks, butter, vanilla extract, and banana liqueur. U cook it until it thickens. U can Google old fashioned banana pudding, and it should pull up a number of recipes for u. My family won’t usually eat banana pudding at a restaurant bc they usually use instant pudding mixes rather than the old fashioned way, and my family is spoiled lol.
@@loricawley54 thanks for the advice! I just looked on RU-vid for recipes and was only able to find vanilla ( which is amazing) but banana pudding is a favorite so I will be googling
call me mean, but i always make from scratch. i don't see the point in spending dollars for a few cents worth of dry ingredients. they really don't save you time either.
I'm sorry BUT if you DO NOT put the recipe in the description drop down I skip right over your recipe.....so if you want people to make your recipes you'd be smart to do that.....I'm not the only one to skip over your recipes because you don't put the recipe in the description box.
