The different and perfect fashion she wears at every performance shows: she is a great artist, dancer and singer and can produce her own fashion label, multi talent.
She is very much the Lauren Mayberry we loved in Chvrches. The lyrics are smart and complex as any she's done. There is a fresh air, a joy even in her solo work that's growing on me while also reclaiming some swatch of pop music for the good guys.
Chvrches managed to ace a certain flavor of dark synthpop for a run that most artists will never achieve. They lasted long enough to where they needed to evolve into something a different from what they had already mastered. Mayberry's solo work is the best chance to make what was that something new and interesting again.
She looks great and the band is doing a great job but holy crap is this song boring. The lyrics legit make no sense and are full of clichés and all around sounds very elementary.
