May we all learn to adapt to what life throws at us as enthusiastically and optimistically as Lynne adapts to dying repeatedly in this game XD

What a fun game! It continues to be a blast experiencing this alongside you. I think the animations are the real star of the show in this part of the game, but I do have some more interesting aspects of the translation to highlight. 1. First of all, in response to your question around 2:01:51, the Japanese here is very similar to the English. It's, "そ。…それは、いったい!/どういうイミですかッ!", which I might more literally translate as, "Wh-What exactly! Is the meaning of that?!". The key phrase is "どういう意味" (dou iu imi), which even more literally is something like, "what meaning is said?", but in conversation this is a phrase commonly used to ask if someone is implying something negative in reference to the speaker, much like "What is that supposed to mean?!" in English. It can be used in a more literal/less confrontational way, though, so I'd say the idiomatic meaning isn't quite as strong in Japanese as it is in English. Actually, while I was able to guess what the Japanese phrase turned out to be just from seeing the English, I was more surprised by the translators' handling of the subsequent explanation. That's because while the Japanese takes a similar approach in over-explaining the expression, it doesn't go into the specific nuance of it being a way to show indignation like the official English line does. Instead, it makes use of the concept of a sarcastic/wry/cynical remark (皮肉る/hinikuru). 2. Lynne's name in Japanese turns out to be what I think is a particularly funny pun. It's written out in Katakana as "リンネ" (rin'ne). This works reasonably well as far as sounding like the name "Lynne" in English, though since the final "e" is actually pronounced it would sound a little weird to a native speaker. However, this also means her name shares the pronunciation of the Japanese Budhhist term 輪廻 (rin'ne), which is the word for the cycle of Samsara/death and rebirth. Given how often Lynne has already died and come back to life, this seems completely appropriate to me. Plus, it fits with the Kannon/Amida connection I mentioned in my comment on your first video in this series, which gives these characters and their apartment a strong Buddhist feel. 3. One more character name pun that's been confirmed, but that doesn't come across very well in my opinion, is Cabanela. His name apparently comes from the word "屍" (shikabane), which means "corpse". Ignoring the first sound entirely (shiKABANE) and then adding "ラ" (ra/la) at the end keeps this one from being noticeable even in the Japanese, but apparently the game's director explained this in an interview. Names like this I think help make the case for not always trying to think of equivalent versions of character names in English, because sometimes even in the original it's not always obvious what the reasoning is. Anyway, I think I'll leave it at that for this week. I look forward to seeing what happens as you continue to make your way through this game soon! As of now, Lynne (There's an "e" at the end of her name, yes), has managed to get into not one, not two, but THREE fatal incidents. Getting killed by assassins is one thing, but that freakin' "murder machine" is just nuts.

She does seem pretty cursed, but fortunately she seems to be taking it in stride? I guess if you have a positive enough attitude, even being repeatedly assassinated can't keep you down. (And thanks, I will correct the spelling of her name now!)

And now you've met the SECOND-best character in the game! I always pictured him as sounding like Johnny Bravo, as opposed to Sissle as you proposed in the first vid.

Ah, such a shame that I missed the "Overgrown Kokiri" stream. I'll have to stop by another week. 😂
