I'm really enjoying the way this game sets up and then plays with expectations in ways both big and small. It feels like the people who put this story together had a good sense for dramatic timing, story pacing, and reveals. That moment with the painting in the cell was brilliant, and as you pointed out, learning more about the two guards at the special prison quietly but effectively shifts the player's perspective on them too. That's not even mentioning some of the other twists and turns, either! At the same time, though, it doesn't feel like the game is doing anything specifically for "shock value" or pure surprise, and I imagine some of your expectations for what's going to happen are probably either correct or very close to it. I get the sense that they're not afraid of someone guessing how things might go, but they are very carefully controlling the presentation of each aspect of the story. The end result is very engaging!

None of the playthroughs I've watched up to this point have gone through to check out the other locations throughout the story instead of jumping right to the next plot point, so I definitely appreciate the time taken to check them out. They're small bits, but they add a lot.

Yeah, I'm sorry I think I missed one or two rounds of other-location moments, but it's definitely been worth doing as much as I have. It's nice of them to reward you for being curious and investigating things, and it's a nice opportunity to see more of the cast than just main-story stuff!

i needed to watch this vod bad yesterday so i pulled up your twitch :P i'll have to let this run in the bg throughout the next couple days so you get your views here too really impressed by how quickly you get the section with the young detective in the park! i've watched a few first time playthroughs of ghost trick and that one tends to be a wall for folks. you'd think it wouldn't be too bad just given how few moving parts there are, but i guess people get hung up at not parsing the objective for a while.

Really, really enjoyed the part where you expected a Big Reveal with the family photo but then got it with the Sissel painting instead :D Certainly adds to the experience! Absolutely in love with the game so far, too. I usually don't expect to get overly attached to the characters in wacky, over-the-top games like this, but Sissel & Lynne actually got to me. Also, I just *have to* compliment you on how quick you are with the puzzles! Maybe it's just me, but I feel like playing puzzle games on stream is extra challenging, cause part of your brainpower is kinda always focused on the audience? Not sure, but watching you figure out the game feels really satisfying.

I've been really surprised by how much I enjoy the characters in this game. I'm not sure it will be my *favorite* the way it is for some of my friends, since it's a bit sillier and less serious than I usually really click with, but the characters are *so* charming and I really like them a lot. And thank you, I feel like the puzzles in this game are apparently the sort of thing that makes sense to me! Maybe not immediately, but I feel like I seldom walk into something by accident; as I work through it, I can actually see it come together and figure out the solution. Maybe I spent a lot of time thinking about Rube Goldberg inventions when I was a kid. I'm pretty sure we studied them at a few different points in school...

Really been looking forward to this part! Things start to get "heavy" in these chapters. Mmm, the plot chickens...

Gamer ! ! If I may recommend, I think you'd really enjoy Slay the Princess. I don't really know how to descrbe it without spoiling anything, but it's a really intricate visual novel with beautiful artwork and lots of choices to think about. Might be fun :)

it might be too intense for Lauren it's got a lot of horror elements.

Yeah, unfortunately I can't do anything horror, so Slay the Princess is out, but I've read about it and it does seem like a very cool thing!

Crazy how Sissel can't read, huh? And how does that bearded guy know him? For the record, his name is pronounced "Joe'd," like "code" or "mode." Common mistake amongst fans, actually. And it's one thing to be targeted by assassins, but then getting killed by a Rube Goldberg machine and *_A GIANT DECORATIVE CHICKEN!?_* It's like the very cosmos is trying to keep her dead! Somehow "absolutely ridiculous" doesn't seem like enough to describe Lynne's predicaments.

But as my roommate points out, if Lynne isn't troubled by it, we shouldn't be either! Yes, it really does feel like the universe is out to get her! But really she has very conveniently timed deaths that let us fix other issues and get to the bottom of other things, so it's quite considerate of her to die like that, really...
