I'm really liking how this game continues to develop! It feels like things are starting to come together. Also, I appreciated the discussion you had around 2:14:55. I think you're completely right about shared cultural moments resulting in similar creative works, or at least ones that grapple with similar questions and themes. I recently spent a good deal of time reading a five-volume work on Dostoevsky that had as its explicit goal the reconstruction of the historical and ideological context in which he was working, so that it essentially doubled as a history of the rise of communism in Russia and the ways the literary circles of the time all had their own responses to the central issues of the day. I know you're not a fan of Russian literature in general, but as someone who is interested in it, these books gave me a whole new appreciation for the way in which the literary world of 19th-century Russian was shaped by specific social circumstances and ideological trends. And you're right, if anything, the relatively broad perspective and access to creative tools available to only a few at that time has expanded tremendously. I feel like that's bound to lead to a lot of works with similar ideas all coming out in rapid succession. So I guess this is a long way of saying I agree, and am similarly fascinated by this process. Yeah, Omori is probably the most-requested game for me to stream, but it will unfortunately not happen because psychological horror is a dealbreaker for me.
