One of the more surprising players in the NBA over the last season and a half has been Lauri Markkanen of the Utah Jazz. While he's gotten some praise for his level of play, I don't think people quite understand just how good he really is.
So in today's video I broke down the things Markkanen does on offense, as well as why I think teams like the Oklahoma City Thunder should be looking to trade for the All-Star ASAP.

They ridiculed him for being a seven footer playing like a shooting guard and I was baffled because isn't that awesome in the unicorn era. 7 ft long prime Klay Thompson is the missing championship piece for many teams.

@Pentton Yeah and Lauri can still bang in the post when it's needed. Dude is athletic as fuck. It's just that modern game isn't very post oriented so most of the time Lauri catch and shoot three is the best play available for the team.

This dude is going NOWHERE mark my words, Danny Ainge is not stupid or blind. Hardy has his attention and they’re creating a good relationship. I don’t think the jazz should do anything except try to get olnyk to resign and just keep playing with this intensity and believing in one another and they’re a legit contender IMO.

It has been historically hard for Utah to keep their stars for many years. With Lauri saying he wants to stay and have patience, I think Jazz will try to make a long time deal with before trying to trade him.

People keep saying that OKC has plenty of picks to dish out to acquire talent. Which is true, but the problem is everyone seems to forget that Utah has 14 first round picks up to 2029. It's the one team in the league that doesn't care about OKC's stash of picks. They would have to give up talent to get Markkanen, and they're not going to do that. Giddey plus a few firsts wouldn't get it done. Add Chet and Dort and remove the picks. OKC would obviously say no, but Ainge won't let Lauri go for less.

Lauri's got no playoff experience yet. He needs a trade to a playoff bound team so that he finally get a taste of the NBA postseason.

Not impressed until Lauri bags a 3 Point Shootout Title. KAT bagged himself one, so I doubt Lauri will ever get one. So KAT distinctively the better shooter over Lauri. Even Dirk or Love bagged one themselves.

@@magicofshootingstar5825 Nice typical excuses. Bird never did for much of his career yet achieved his legendary 3 peat. Even legendary shooters Mullin, Majerle or Miller never bagged one.
