In this video we discuss the party of Lauri Markkanen being traded to the Golden State Warriors as they find themselves having struck out on several free agency candidates before finally managing to nab Buddy Hield in a sign in trade deal. Lauri Markkanen would not necessarily put them over the top as a contender, but it would allow Stephen Curry and the Warriors to re-enter the conversation that they have been missing for so long.

I disagree one thing, spurs are on the clock atm too. Wemby have rookie contract. When he get paid max, and he will, it limits how much they can pay other players. Imo best time for spurs is now, not few years from now. Its before Wembys rookie contract is over. Then its not that easy to build winning team around him what it is now. I do agree that spurs dont need to do it this year, they can do it next year. So they are little bit less hurry than gsw. However, if they get they pieces now. Then spurs have more time to play together because its unlikely they will win first year. Its possible but its second or 3rd year together when they reach championchip level. But i must add that i have bias on this, i like Steph Curry but hate that psycho Draymond. It would be easier for me watch Lauri in spurs, no mix feelings like it would be in gsw. And i do think spurs would win with Lauri. I have hard time to see how gsw can win even with Lauri. Steph is 37, its more than likely that he start to slow down and get more injuries. And spurs have better coach too. Kerr is not that good like we saw when he was head coach of team USA. He has been successfully only because he had players like Curry, Klay and that psycho Green. And some other pieces like Durant etc.

We Lauri fans here and I too want to see him move teams with the Jazz tanking next season. Im fine with Warriors but I agree the Spurs would be better long term. CP3 passing to Lauri&Wemby would be fun to watch. Im also seeing rumors of the Heat&Kings, both would be instant playoff contention.

Thanks for the shout out bro. Good video. I think the potential deal makes sense too. The Warriors have enough stuff. Warriors get: Markkanen Jazz get: 2026 1st, 2028 1st, 2030 1st (Jazz would get if 1-20, Wizards if 21-30) and first round swaps in 2025, 2027, 2029 and 2031. Then it just comes down to the two teams agreeing on which players the Warriors send.

With the Rookie Post and Lauri Markkanen that's a solid front court not to mention Looney can still hold his own. Landing Markkanen places the Warriors in championship contention for sure. Buddy Curry Green Markkanen Post/Looney Is a deadly combination!

@@wraithhoops Just my two cents - I'd stick with the Jazz for now. You're gradually gaining subscribers and you have distinct advantages over the other RU-vid options for Jazz fans. You have no memberships and no annoying built in video ads for car dealerships, gambling sites and man shavers. I think you'll eventually surpass those others guys. Plus, you're a pleasure to listen to - no screaming, foul language, gyrations or annoying nose picking going on. 👃🙄🤨🤮

Your video is hilarious. You are clearly salty the Warriors have cooked your favorite team in the past. The narrative you are trying to paint that the Warriors head office were fumbling and made all these mistakes is actually not true. Tbh they didn’t really want Klay back besides for sentimental reasons. Him leaving was the outcome they wanted and they got better as a result (turned him into Buddy Hield and Kyle Anderson)

Not sure if you realized but everybody but the Trailblazers and Pistons whooped on the Jazz last year… so your logic doesn’t hold water. It’s not that they didn’t want Klay back, they just didn’t want to give him the max (which is completely valid) but I criticize them because it is alleged that they told him they were unwilling to spend the money in general. Which comes as a slap in the face to a guy whose spent his entire career with you when then reports dropped that you offered (the money that you said you weren’t willing to spend) to Paul George. I further criticize them because they followed that up by not even managing to get Paul George. So they missed out on two positives to the team. I recorded this video the day before they got the sign and trade done for Buddy Hield which I think is an ELITE pickup for them even if his game isn’t identical to Klay’s because they are a pretty close fit to the system they already have and he should thrive. No Warriors hate over this way brother. I just like good basketball. I wasn’t intending for it to come off as a hit piece on Steph and those boys. I actually think Lauri would be an amazing acquisition and it would give Curry the ability to run one of the most diabolically delicious pick and rolls of all time. Not saying it pushes the needle enough to make them a guaranteed contender but I don’t bet against Curry too often. Hope this clarified some things!

@@wraithhoops you’re wrong about the facts as well… they offered him 2 years 48 originally and he wanted more money/years. He was pouting all season about not getting offered enough money and he was not happy about being benched. When I say the Warriors/Joe Lacob didn’t want him back is because he was coming across as ungrateful, a negative influence on team chemistry and didn’t help in the playoffs (i.e. 0-10 in elimination game). Reportedly Klay’s camp made multiple offers to Warriors including 2 years 40 million (showing Klay was okay with taking less money) but they kept saying they couldn’t do it “right now.” Because they were prioritizing other acquisitions. Clearly they didn’t really want him back that bad or at least didn’t prioritize him. Klay’s not dumb and understood what that signified. They both decided it would be better for them to part at some point but the Warriors made a conscious effort to not priotize him the whole time, it wasn’t a bumbling mistake as you portray in your video.

@@wraithhoops I’m not trying to come off negative towards you, because you are just summarizing the media narrative. But the Warriors front office is smarter than most people think and the media seldom reports the real truth. Trust if they really wanted Klay back they would have found a way. The Clippers trade didn’t happen not because of the Warriors front office but because the Clippers losing franchise decided they would rather lose Paul for nothing than trade with the Warriors. The real slap in the face came when they chose to offer Wiggins and Poole the bag instead of extending Thompson when they could have. That slap came around the same time Draymond’s fist did coincidentally…

@@anthonywlong I never said they didn’t offer him that money nor did I address the alleged chemistry issues. I merely look at it from a “on the court” standpoint only. That certainly affected things, but to say they ‘wanted’ him to leave is unjust in my eyes. So no, I was not wrong about the facts because I elected not to address them. If you would like to say I failed to address it as well as you would’ve preferred then I respect that for certain. But I wanted the focal point to be Lauri specific instead of lengthening the video with the extra context that wasn’t central to the point.

Nobody want Lavine. Thats why he is still availiable. His situation is little bit like Trae young. Not much intrest around the league for those players. Too big salary and lot of cons, especially in defenece.

Everybody has the same salary cap restrictions. The Boston Celtics have the highest payroll and when Klay was off the books they dropped a couple spots further down the list. I never said he was worth a max. I just didn’t like the claim that came out with them allegedly being unwilling to pay it to him because they didn’t want to spend that money on anybody just to offer it to PG and fail to secure him. He’s still a great shooter but he isn’t at the peak of the mountain anymore and because shooting is the only thing that he does exceptionally well since his injuries caused regressions defensively, it means he just isn’t worth what he once was. It’s not anything for his camp to be sad about. It’s just how Father Time does all of the players at some time or another.

I often wonder if Kerr is a good coach or if he just landed in the perfect situation for temporary success. Too many young players failed to reach their “estimated” peaks with the Warriors. Idk for sure.
