i started playing the uke about a month and a half ago; this was the first song i tried to learn but i couldn't get it. i thought i would never be able to switch chords fast enough and sing along, but now i can do both! i'm even having to slow down to match the correct pace. thank you for this tutorial - you are an amazing teacher. :)
serena grace hey not to worry , I thought it was a bad Ukulele, so I bought a new one... And it wasn't any good aether. So I bought a 3ed and took a class , then thing's..Got better... improved.
CYNTHIA! Thank you thank you thank you! I picked up ukulele recently and have been loving it! I needed something for myself, you see my daughter was diagnosed with a very rare disease when she was 8 months old and lost all kidney function, turning our lives upside down, starting dialysis and struggling to raise a medically dependent toddler. Me and her discovered this song and have spent HOURS bonding over it. She loves it, as do I, but those moments we have where we hold eachother and listen to such lovely, heartfelt music, moments without having to think of dialysis, meds, injections and doctors - it kept us tethered. Kept me going. She finally got her kidney in October and I have learned 8 songs for myself but just found this and cant WAIT to play it for her. She is going to love it! Sorry for the long story it just means SO much to me that I can play this for her and wanted you to know exactly what it means that you have it here for us so clearly, simply and brightly! :)

I can't thank you enough for this. I grew up in Hawaii, and was told back in 4th grade that I am awful at playing the uke. After that, i actually hadn't touched a musical instrument at all until this Christmas. I decided to give it a try again, and with the help of your videos, I'm GETTING IT!!!! Pixar purposely made this song super easy to play so that parents could play it for their children and kids could learn it too. I hate how genius Pixar is.
This is my third day learning how to play the ukulele and this song has inspired me to go on even further it's sweet and simple! It's perfect to learn C G7 and F!
My 4 year old is obsessed with this song! He is trying to learn uke, I think he's working his way up to this song, haha! So far he's got down C chord, working on F, and daily he asks me when he gets to learn G7, lol! Thanks for breaking the song down for us! He loves watching you play!
I'm almost sure about the intro/verse now, and I got my ukulele two days ago. I can't feel my fingers, but it's worth it in the endXD I'm sure I'll be able to learn it, so I can play it without looking at either the ukulele or the chordpaper. I learned this song for my daughter by her “request”. She sings as pretty as you do Cynthia. We do this little duet and love it. My guilty pleasure is I love playing it all the time- even when she is not around. Just a really fun song to play. Thanks so much.

We are learning this during hurricane Dorian in FL (2019) on our ukulele. This will keep us great company when the electricity goes out soon. You are so beautiful with the volcano sounds added! My son is 11 and almost got it with this tutorial! Thank you!!!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I’ve been watching all your beginner videos but this one I’ve started slowly (.75 speed) then full speed. Then singing along to you play. Then playing and singing. Its so much fun! I teach in a school and the children love this short so to play it is a real joy!
I've just started "playing" the ukulele. Your lessons have been very helpful because you go slow and clearly demonstrate various skills that I've been struggling! I've been practicing about 20 minutes a day plus have added finger exercises! Thank you so much!

I found the chords, strums are not hard. However, whenever I tried to sing with it, my strums got all messed up and the rhythm is a mess. Is it just me ??
Ya, same with me. I was trying to learn some grace vanderwaal songs and had everything down then when i started singing my strumming just went all down hill..
what i do is put in one earbud and play along with cynthia, or record myself playing and use that until my brain gets used to it. does that make sense? i can't articulate myself very well lol
