That’s so true. For whatever reason my parent is as reluctant to discuss finances with us & when it was discussed the potential of who would left the house was always turned into a potential fight amongst us orchestrated by our parent. As time went & so many instances of it being used as potential opposition towards one another siblings no longer wanted any parts. Then suddenly we discover my parent had no money for us to do the burial & to add insult to injury there was nothing ever finalized about the house. It’s going ok 3 years & I’m still learning new about the house in terms of debt as I try to maintain it continue to pay the taxes on it as well as a mortgage that is still in play. Sometimes I feel like just letting it go but my Mom’s wanted to keep it in the family. I have to totally honest with my grieving. I miss my parent & I also despise my parent at the same time. Through our lives they have always kept up negativity amongst us & maybe this was just one more thing they thought they would leave in their passing. The scars our parents leave behind. SMH.
