In the video you see Niels van Dooren setting Lavender pink coloured diamonds each measuring 1.3mm. The ring is white gold and was first printed on a Form2 printer and later casted.

vandoorenniels is that so you don't go too big? I noticed not every diamond fit in every hole.

Liam Jones yes, the diamonds vary a tiny bit and are therefore all drilled a bit smaller than the actual size to make sure it will fot

@@heinikendude actually you mainly do this so that each hole has the same distance inbetween each other. holes should be bigger than the stones ex. 1.15-1.19mm stones have a hole of 1.2mm

As a Goldsmith I have upgraded to pneumatic tools and diamond sharpening for setting but am trying to figure out if I can sharpen and use carbide tools without the health hazard associated with the dust. Maybe do sharpening in a separate area, I do not think this issue has been dealt with adequately.

How do you know how far to space your calipers to get an exact amount of diamonds to fill the space?

Roy Aaron thanks for asking. I know measure the exact diamond diameter and then just filll up the whole strip with it. The small filet cuts at the side gave me some space to fill a possible gap.

93Vulture polisher is diamond disk. And steel is mostly carbide

access hi, its a pneumatic tool. The splitting of the prongs is done manual.

Niamh Manley Hi, and thanks for your question. The ring was 3D designer and printed on a form 2 printed. The width of the wire is 1,5 mm. Diamonds are 1,30-1,35. All gravers are sharpened by myself so there is no real size. ;-)
