I love mine!! So soft and easy to wear no more earbuds hurting in the middle of the night or falling out!! Great sound also... The instructions say to take the speakers and panel out it actually says pop the panel out. Nope it’s sewn it. You have to work it out of the slit inside next to the panel to wash the whole band.
Yes, getting the panel and speakers out is a little bit fiddly. I've had the same issue with all of these headband style of headphones. It requires a degree of patience when you want to remove the components so you can wash the headband.
When I go to sleep with my airpods on, I usually have to look for them in the morning. They always seem to drop behind my bed, so I have to drag my bed to find them. I glad I just got these, so, hopefully, I will be able to listen to rain noises and go to sleep comfortably.
It took me a while to understand your comment Ryan! But I got it in the end...a bit slow today. Yes, these should avoid that problem, though bring up another problem of rolling your head over the speaker. Hopefully not as brutal as an alligator death roll though.
just ordered mine tonight! after watching your review, I'm all the more excited to receive them! Definitely going to be better than over ear headphones haha. Thx for the solid review mate!
@@nosleeplessnights1 Lots of people enjoying the sound of your voice, maybe you can put it to use as a hypnotist, a second calling discovered by your viewers.
Maybe sleep stories, but I'd be worried I'd be responsible for putting people under and them missing work because the audio didn't run for long enough to wake them up haha.
I ordered a pair the second I saw them. I figured that it's a simple enough concept. (block out light and noise, play wireless audio) I didn't watch your review until after I bought them but I'm very relieved to see that they live up to their intended purpose. Counting down the days until they get here but I'll let y'all know as soon as I've had a few nights with 'em.
Hi, just keep in mind that they were not specifically intended to block out light. I wouldn't find them comfortable to use as a sleep mask. And there is no active noise cancellation. Still, I hope you like them - let me know!
Looks perfect for my needs! My only concern is the same concern I have for any headphones that rely on cables. I noticed at 9:13 you have one of the speakers out and it is connected by a thin cable. As any wired headphone user knows, in time the cables start to wear&tear and eventually one (or both) speakers stop working. Despite the fabric protecting the speaker I fear that eventually those thin cables will eventually get worn out.
Indeed, these type of cheap headbands are less robust because of the thin wires. It will all come down to how much you turn in the night and put stress on them with the positions you end up in, and the quality of the particular model you have. For the low price, it's a risk I think.
I might buy a pair of these. These headphones caught my eye because sometimes I sleep with normal earbuds in my ear and after a couple of days my inner ear starts to get inflamed from the earbuds being lodged in my ear for hours every night while being pressed up against a pillow. Basically, normal earbuds tend to cause me some pain due to the inflammation and it’s already happened multiple times. Hope these will solve my problem!!
Great video! As a factory worker that gets up really early in the morning I need good sleep. Good review on this product. Have you considered reviewing the kokoon headphones? They are expensive but I have read lots of good things about it. I'm considering buying them
Thanks Victor! They are on my radar as I hope to do a big headphones comparison video later this year. It's expensive buying lots of the best ones though, so I will make the final call about which to include later on. But at the moment, I am considering the Kokoon for inclusion. If you do buy them, please let me know what you think of them!
Nice review. Would you say the sound quality is good enough for listening to ASMR videos in bed? My main reason I'm looking to buying sleeping headphones is because I hate how my normal earphones dig into my ear (side sleeper)
Thanks! I guess it depends what kind of quality you're used to. The speakers are pretty good for this price range, and since they don't have quite as much padding around them as some other fabric headphones, the volume tends to be better than some others. So if you're listening to particularly soft sounding ASMR, then you should hear it at least.
These style of headphones work surprisingly well , I expected to not be able to sleep with them on but I did. I think though if I found some with true noise cancelling they'd be perfect as I have a couple of noise cancelling headphones but they're no good for sleeping with but even with no music playing the noise coming from the neibours is way quieter. Have to use white noise at the moment which works to a degree but in combo (but lower volume) with noise cancelli ng even if they were twice or more the price would be worth it.
They do work well if you need to lie on your side. Sadly, none of the big companies have made flat noise cancelling headphones, or tiny ones, that you can use on your side all night. I'll be publishing a video comparing headphones for sleep later this year, so keep an eye out for that!
I’ve been using it for more than a month now and it’s great! I have a noisy neighbors above me and now I don’t even think about them. It’s comfortable and I pull it a little bit down to cover my eyes. Note: you will need a white noise app or you can play any sound you like.
@@tareq5853 Glad it worked for you! I also have noisy neighbors, esp. on Fridays and weekends. I've been looking for something to block out the noise, but since there is no active noise cancellation in these headphones, I'm a bit on the fence. Does the white noise sound really help out?
Thanks, great review! My problem is the amount to which these sleep headphones leak, I’ve bought a couple of pairs but found I couldn’t continue to use them because they kept my partner awake.
Thanks, and you're welcome! Unfortunately, that's a bit of an issue with all fabric headphones of this style. I guess the hope is people are expected to listen to music quietly in bed. But that's not always the case, as you've found out.
I’ve been having crazy loud tinnitus lately, my hearing has gotten worse. I’ll probably have to buy one of these since it’s almost impossible to sleep at night
Can people sleeping near you hear them well? My wife always gripes when I have headphones in says she can hear them she somehow has superhearing before bed but never listens to anything anyone tells her I'm her waking hours. I really loved your review as well it was pretty refreshing most people skim over things you did a great job!
First of all, thanks for the compliment - much appreciated! These headphones do leak noise, so you'd want to keep them on a lower volume if your wife's super power of amazing hearing switches on at night.
enjoying. hahah. I bought one called musicozy, looks the same but maybe it has some more fabric and a bit softer. Bought on amazon. Generally pretty good, but easy to notice the feeling of a band across your head. Have to get used to it. I bought them to play white noise to mask a broken water pump in the room next door which doesn't stop through the night.
Hi Paul. I believe there are several copies sold online, some exact but with different branding, some slightly different in design. Someone, somewhere, is churning them out and marketing them to different Amazon third party sellers to then market to the public. I even found a video on RU-vid someone had done to market the same product with a different brand name, using large sections of my video in their marketing material and my photo on their website homepage. Needless to say, I got it removed for copyright infringement. I've also had several people emailing me to ask if they can use parts of my video for their 'new product'. So in my view, they are basically all the same. My best guess is that someone has a pyramid scheme style business plan in full swing. Buyer beware in this case, sadly.
Got one for my husband! I don't like how he keeps his phone plugged in with headphones on, or just having headphones on that keep him from being able to turn over. Really excited for it to arrive, I hope he likes it!
So, I loved mine! But whenever it is low on charge it shouts at me”low battery!” And wakes me up! Huuuuuuge product flaw. And now it won’t hold a charge for more than an hour :(
Yes, that's why it's always good to charge these type of headphones every day - though it sounds like you won't be doing that. I hope you can still return it. So many devices make totally unnecessary noises. Loud beeps when you reach the lowest volume is the one I never understood!
Fair warning: I'm 6'4 so my head is a bit bigger than most people's so the speakers are forward to my ears. If you plan on buying this just know that they might not be a perfect fit so you'll have to kind of wear it a bit to the left while having moved the right speaker a bit further out of its standard "pouch".
Thanks for the input. I think you're absolutely right about needing to adjust the position of the speakers. Some people will get lucky and the starting placement is perfect, but others like you will need to work with them to get the right fit.
Good review gonna try em wife got me a new phone and it has no jack so I gotta ditch my skull candies for wireless ... I’ve used them for about 3 years now no problem . Rip
No Sleepless Nights so I tried them last night . I sleep with asmr..... didn’t work at all ..... I miss my ear buds . So much so I had to use another phone just to sleep . I need wireless buds . Oh well ....
Thanks for this video, would you say that listening to white noise works well with this sleep headphone? And can the volume be set high enough to block out loud noises such as that of crying and screaming toddlers?
You're welcome. I think that white noise played through any headphones can be helpful. It's hard to say if it will block out all noise, and depends on the volume and proximity of the crying and screaming.
Oh thank you. I have got 10$ version without box, instruction, etc. It wasn’t working! But now I could read in manual in your hands, that it should be charged befor paring) Ok, we will see)
This is a good question, and one I'm not qualified to answer to be completely honest. It wouldn't be right for me to state a level of radiation risk because I don't have a way to measure it, and I'm not a scientist who is trained and able to determine such things. My personal understanding from looking online is that the risks associated with Bluetooth devices is an area of ongoing debate and research. So I think you'll find better answers to your question from checking what researchers and sources such as the World Health Organisation have to say about it.
Im sick of having wet ear canals from wearing earbuds while in bed at night. They are also prone to infections. Im searching for something over the ear that is cool and comfortable. The mesh seems cooler.
That's one of the main points in favour of this style of headphones - nothing inside the ear canal. The mesh is relatively cool when compared to some of the thicker fabric headbands I've tried.
I just ordered them . Want only for sleeping . Had Bose sleepingbuds but they stopped working and sleepphones are very expensive . Let’s see how they go.
No Sleepless Nights I cancelled my order and bought extremely expensive sleepphones. Thought I needed a proper sleeping phones . I am suffering due to not getting sleep . Small sounds just wakes me up .
I wear hearing aids and currently wear ear buds to listen to audiobooks in bed. I need good quality sound because f my hearing issues. Do you recommend these, or know of another brand that might be better for me?
To be honest, I'm not sure whether earbuds or these would be better if you wear hearings aids. I just don't know enough about the way hearing aids interact with different methods of playing audio, so I wouldn't to give you a recommendation without being knowledgeable enough about your specific situation. Sorry!
Hey! What are your thoughts on this if you are a side sleeper? Sadly I can't afford the super expensive one's with the padding and everything, but I need something to help me to listen to podcasts as I sleep and not necessarily disturb my dormmates.
I think if you have a soft pillow, and your ears aren't too sensitive, you should be fine for a while. But if you have a harder pillow, sensitive ears and lie on one side for hours on end, then I can imagine it being a bit of an issue. You could always make some extra padding though if you're up for some DIY, which is something that crossed my mind the other day.
By any chance do the headphones have a noise cancelling feature? And if not do you know of a similar product that just focuses on cancelling background noise for those of us that don't listen to audio as we sleep. Thanks!
No they don't Lucy - sadly. I don't know any fabric headband style headphones that have active noise cancellation. For that, you'd need to stick with normal headphones. If you discover any that do seem to have noise cancellation, please let me know and I'll buy and review them, as it's something I'd love to see.
I’m very curious about headphones for sleep- new subscriber! My bf snores crazily and my headphones end up in the bed. I’m looking for the best alternative 😩
I recently purchased these headphones and they're good for comfort and sleep. I love them. Does anyone know how to stop that loud beeping noise everytime I turn up the volume all the way?
I don't think there is a way, no. It's a feature in several of the low-cost headband headphones I've tried, and I'm yet to find a way to turn the beeping off in any of them unfortunately.
I would love to try these but am worried that over exposure to Bluetooth radiation over a nights sleep maybe an issue? Apparently many doctors and scientists are unsure of the long term risks of brain tumours ect.
I can't comment on that as I'm not a doctor or a scientist. I would say go with your gut feeling and/or your own reading about the topic. Personally, if I was worried something I was using in bed might make me ill, that would probably stress me out, which would affect my sleep. So on that point, if you're unsure about them, don't use them.
It depends how loud you turn the volume up, what kind of white noise it is, what kind out outside sounds and how loud they are. So the answer can only be 'maybe'.
Not in my experience. But the speakers do make announcements for some things. If they disconnect from Bluetooth, then they do announce 'disconnected'. And if you turn them off, they announce that too.
@@nosleeplessnights1 Oh I'm sorry it auto corrected it to change when I meant to say charge since mine died and I can't figure out how to charge it! My apologies
No problem. At 2:24 in the video you can see how I pull out the cable from the headband and plug it into the USB cable, which you then use to charge it.
That would work a little, but in my opinion any product that would make you want to color it in with a sharpie is fundamentally flawed (unless it's a coloring book).
It depends on the headphones. Compared to decent Sony, Bose, Sennheiser etc, no. They are no match. But compared to cheaper headphones, they are reasonably good. I wouldn't get these if you're used to $300 headphones and hope to have similar sound quality.
These are good! But is there a way to turn whatever your playing off after 1 hour? I dont want my radio/music to play all night long while sleeping, id like it to turn off after around 1hr when ive fallen asleep, i use ipad. Or is there somthing else i can use that turns itself off after 1hr? Any other devices with a sleep timer? a radio with dab or a speaker? Or radios? that you recommend please instead of my ipad? Thankyou for the great review
They don't have a timer option. The only headband style headphones I know of that have an inbuilt sleep timer is the AcousticSheep SleepPhones Simple. It has six timer options. Here's a link: bit.ly/3jy6aWG
I want to get one for my bf because he listens to sleep videos e.ve.ry.night!! so im thinking about getting those but most reviews are so...negative :(
There's probably a good reason for that, unfortunately. As much as I try to be balanced when doing reviews, these headphones have some obvious quality problems.
Only if you lie on the speaker directly on your side for a long time, in which case the pressure might be uncomfortable. But I don't think they have anything specific about them I would say is bad for your ears - at least not that I am aware of.
What i do now instead of buying these kind of bands is to just put my phone under the pillow and it helps. My partner doesn’t hear the podcast/music and I can hear it and fall asleep with np.
I know...these type of headphones struggle to block out loud snoring unless you turn the volume up, in which case you can't sleep because the music is too loud!
Hi Omar. You can remove the components to wash the headband. But personally, considering how cheaply they seem to be made, I wouldn't trust that they can handle rain. As for heavy sweating, that's a good question. Again, I personally wouldn't trust them to get soaked through on a regular basis and survive.
They have no active noise-cancellation. So the only help they provide is the small amount of padding over your ears, which can help muffle some sound. And then the type of music/audio you listen to and the volume. But compared to high-end noise-cancelling headphones, they aren't nearly as good. But then again, a loud barking dog will still break through most headphones!
Yes, it takes a couple of minutes because you have to move the components out of their little pockets and then gently pull the wire to remove them from the same hole in the headband. But basically, you just manipulate the two speakers and main control unit so all 3 leave their pockets, then pull them through the hole.
The genre of music doesn't affect how they work. But they do affect how much you might enjoy different genres I guess. If you want to listen to loud music with heavy, intense bass, headphones like this might disappoint if you're used to listening on high-end headphones.
They don't have active noise cancelling. They will only help by adding a little extra padding over your ears, but really it's the music you listen to and the volume you set that will block out any noise.
No they don't have any noise cancelling tech. Having the speakers and a little material over your ear might help a bit, but it's in no way comparable to proper noise cancelling headphones - apples and pears!
