Lawn Leveling Preparation What I Did 

Poa Cure is a newer herbicide that will control Poa via pre-emergent and post-emergent. Trials have been exceptional on golf course putting greens and it is safe for warm season and cool season grasses. Kinda expensive, but will control Poa 100% on cool season turf

Got to watch this one from your neck of the woods! We are staying the night in Charlotte on our way to Orlando from MI. First time I’ve seen anything S of West Virginia. It is absolutely gorgeous down here! Hoping it dries up some while I’m away. I started a leveling project of my own last fall, but we go so much rain in oct that I wasn’t able to finish. Really didn’t want to seed in spring, but that’s the hand I’ve been dealt. I greatly appreciate all of the knowledge you leave for us on your channel, Pete. Thanks for what you do!

Manually removing poa is the only method I know that works. And right now while the ground is soft and seeds haven't yet produced, it's an ideal time to get it done. Nice to see your family get involved and lend a hand.

My KBG reno also has poa A along the road pretty bad. Good idea with the proplugger. I don’t have a reserve to get new plugs from but a local sod farm grows the cultivar I planted. Thanks for the tip!

The way I remove poa is to let it flourish thru the spring then when the east Texas heat kicks in it checks out.

I love how the good Lord gave us the feeling of satisfaction when we work hard for something!

I'm doing the same thing on my front yard reno that I did last Fall. I have been pulling misc POA & other weeds that popped up. It's getting its first edging and its first 1/2" mow today.

Combine time in the yard making progress and time with the family, can’t beat that.

Ill have to grow a little plot so I can use plugs like that ... thats so cool!

Like you mentioned in the video (and I know Allett recommends it) verticutting regularly, or using the scarifier attachment which can do a similar job, can help eliminate poa from your yard. Since poa likes to grow horizontally, by verticutting, you are disrupting its growth and helping to eliminate new seed heads which can then be cut off. That combined with a good pre-emergent in the spring and fall can really help eliminate your poa issues. For more info read the Allett usa blog, verticutting away POA.

When the compost decomposes won’t you have a low spot again? Versus just siding sand that won’t decompose.

Believe it or not I used Southern AG Crossbow at the highest rate which is around 5.5 oz per gallon and it completely killed all my POA. I recommended it to my neighbor and it did the same for his. It’s not supposed to be affective on grassy weeds but it knocked it out for us.

You're going to need a fall pre emergent. You have a wonderful family coming out and helping you like that.

I kept my fertilizer in my shed which is dry but it is exposed to the freezing winter temperatures, Is the fertilizer I have not useable anymore or am I alright?
