Same, I’m down south, & you can’t find anything around there that’s in ok fixable shape that’s not beat to crap & the owner doesn’t want big $. Around here u gotta watch Facebook then when u see something within a 1-2hr drive in decent shape u go for it. I drove an hour & a 1/2 for a decent shape 216 w original engine. Needed help, but got it for next to nothing, which is what u gotta do w these things.
I always get a good feeling and a bad feeling watching these kind of videos. Its a shame they are left out to rot by other people and never to be used again, but at the same time its great to see someone has gathered them all in one spot so that people like us can give second life to these machines.
I agree 100 percent. It does make me sad seeing all this old iron from years ago sitting to never be used again. It is nice for places like this tho so we can salvage parts to keep others running. If it were not for places like these all of these tractors would more than likely be in a scrap yard. Im glad there not going to waste.
Ha! I watched the entire video just drooling and wondering where this was. Then I discover I know this guy, Adam Good from Ashland Ohio. Boy has he come up in the world. He had an interesting place here but nothing compared to that. He deserves this success, he is a good and knowledgeable man. Art
Yes you are right it is Adam. He is a great guy to deal with. I enjoy going there. It is nice having this place in Ohio. I pretty much got the rest of the parts for my collection there, And at a good price also.
That Place is MIND NUMBING, I Didn't Even Know There Was A Place Like That, & Ya There Are Some KILLER Deals There, & I Just Can't Imagine That It's CRAZY
Great, I’m a small engine mechanic in Columbus, used to sit and watch trains at that crossing right by that place, never knew it existed. Now I have a trip planned...holy shit.
Thats funny you say that. Every time I go there and I cross the Railroad tracks there are people taking pictures and videoing trains. Must be a busy train route. This place is worth the trip alone, But you could make a day of it. When I am pulling parts there are always trains rolling by.
Large collection for sure, but I would be surprised if he has a mid-60's Homoco rear engine rider OR a mid-60's Tomboy push mower. Back in the mid-60's our local IH dealer sold the Homoco's and our local Western Auto store sold the Tomboys. Dad had one of each.
I've seen the ads and mention of the website previously. I hadn't looked at it. That was my mistake. I've got to arrange a trip to see it in person. Probably should take the trailer when I go. 😁
Imagine if it was on a ebay store were everything was cataloged with pictures and condition it would definitely be a full time job ,but it would be a gold mine , you would never have to work again except there !
He does have a lot of stuff on ebay. There are rows of shelves all tagged and documented with numbers of the parts listed on the ebay store. He said he would like to do more of that but it takes a lot of time. Right now he is short on employees. Not sure what the ebay store name is. That would be great tho. Online catalog you could shop maybe. That is a good idea. I will let him know he may want to do something like that.
I wouldn't know what to do with myself in such a heavenly place like that! I wish we had a place 1/10th of what this one is in my area. We have nothing like this at all near me. I have to order everything I need off the interweb. I live in a pretty rural area of NC and you would think we would have places like this, but no not a one!
I'd love to go to a place like that. Sucks for use up in Ontario Canada because of all the recycling programs the gov of Ontario put on over the years. Closest place like that in down in NY state about 5 hr away :(
When the scrap prices rose up 10 years ago we lost lots of stuff like this here in the U.S. luckely for us tho there is still quite a bit left. I am happy to have a place like this to salvage parts.
steiger 256 I think you are a very bad person. Grandmother told me 50 + years ago that heaven was not on this earth. Now how do I reconcile video proof to my grandkids that she lied ?
Someone gave me a strange one when I was a kid. It had an oval tube frame with 2 wheels at the back. The steering wheel went straight down to a double wheel in front which was the drive wheel. To reverse you stop and turn steering wheel 180°. 2 Clinton engines, 1 for drive 1 for single blade deck. Depress pedal to engage drive. Did wheelies in reverse. I called it the moon mobile. Very strange. Anyone know what that was?
The last time I was there I was takling about the Centaur tractor I seen there. Turns out this building was the factory fir the tractor. They have pictures of the tractors being built in this building. There is another small town close to Greenwich calked Plymouth, Ohio where the Silver King tractors were made as well. Lots of history in some of these small towns.
I am sure he would let you walk around and look at everything. I am sure you would find something to buy as well. Give him a call. The contact information is listed in the decription of the video.
Does he buy up mowers by weight, or just kick out a number for approximate value of whatever model? I might have a trailer load i would rather see get used than go to the big boneyard in the sky
Them are probaly parts off engines that were parted out. Some engines that dont run he tears down and sells the rods, crank, block, ect. I bet them are the shrouds off of them engines.
He has Kubotas. There are at least 4 I remember. Not sure if I showed them in this video or the other one. I am going to make a road trip there soon and do another video. Ill try to get them on camera.
I'd like to find a Jacobson with a Kohler engine in it the one I've got needs a carburetor rebuilt or new carburetor put on it and I got a John Deere I need to get a John Deere seat port I had to salvage a seat off of another mower I had to put on the John Deere and it's in the shop right now cuz it won't run I got a snapper it's not running cuz it needs a rear end wish I could find those parts around here but it's hard to find them where I live in Arkansas
I was just there today. He has some Jocobsons. I will be posting another video of his current inventory. He does sell online and ship so that us always a option. He har carb kits, seats, engines, ect also.
There may have been a 9020 powermax not sure. Im going back in a month to do another video while im there. Ill see what he has. May be one hidden somewhere.
Don't get me wrong I love JD but just because it's a JD doesn't mean it still needs to be sold for shit ton because of the name he's asking alot of money for some of theses tractors that are years old some of them don't even start and he's asking for 1k for it he's crazy or 2k for that I can go buy a brand new one or spend a few extra and get a brand new JD
