New York icon Lawrence Taylor was a one man wrecking machine for Big Blue the most dominate player in the history of the NFL arguably the best line backer...L.T had serious demons of the field but it seemed not to affect his play he was such a nightmare he changed the game to the point his drug use and other out of control ways barely get brought up in terms of his productivity...he was freakish, won 2 Superbowls 10 probowls the only linebacker to win an MVP and 2 defensive player to win the award (Allen Paige) do you know how dominate a year you have to have to even be in the conversation for most valuable player? L.T' is the meaning of beast mode
I truly thank everyone who supports me and my channel I love ya'll...the love keeps me motivated my G's...enjoy, share, comment, sub if you haven't and tell a friend THANK YOU AGAIN GUYS!!!!!!!

If you are to young to remember the 80's late winter, CBS station, the NFC East football, Philly with Reggie White, and Randall Cunningham, or Dallas with Randy White and Too Tall Jones, the Giants with LT and Banks, or Redskins with Mann an Manley, with Madden and Summerall calling the game, it didn't get any better than that

Think about this. LT retired almost 30 years ago. Today’s players are bigger, stronger, faster, and generally more athletic than those who played 40 years ago. He is one of the few players from his era who could suit up against today’s NFL rosters and still be the best player at his position. He was so far ahead of the curve during his prime.

I consider myself blessed to have been a Giants fan in Brooklyn, New York in the 1980's. I was watching draft night when Lawrence Taylor was drafted by my team, the Giants. At that time the team was the laughingstock of the league. I was actually in front of my television set on that fateful afternoon when Joe Pisarcik, sorry excuse for a qb, commited what would forever be termed the fumble. Instead of kneeling with the lead and the ball with seconds left in the game. giants decide to hand the ball off, the rest is history. QB fumbled the ball, Herman Edwards, who was the DB on the Philadelphia Eagles at the time, scooped the ball up and ran untouched into the end zone with no time left on the clock to win the game. I was in shock. I could not even finish eating my sunday dinner. I did not even go to school for two days, I was so depressed. That is why I love LT: he singlehandedly changed the culture of the team, the city, my neighborhood. We were no longer the joke of the league.I feel so honored to have watched him on CBS (channel 2 in NY) and videotape almost every game the giants played from 1983-to the day he retired. I still have all of the videocassettes from that era. I will not play them tho, for fear that they will pop, or the coating will come off. I just take them out and look at them from time to time and reminisce. What memories!! I saw it all!!

Greatest football player ever. I saw him single-handedly win so many games for the Giants during the 80's when their offense was so anemic. Causing 4th and longs to allow our offense to be in field goal position even if they couldn't pickup a first down, critical fumbles during times in the game when they needed a big play, and obviously his sacking and tackling ability. To be the all time sack leader when he retired from the LB position didn't make any sense considering he played during a run heavy era in the NFL where QB's threw 20-25 times a game at most. So strong, so fast but what really separates him from all the other great defensive players of all time was LT's motor. I've been watching football for over 30 years now and I still haven't seen someone play with his level of energy and reckless abandon. The guy just never took a play off. Greatest football player ever for me. You watch him in his prime and it looks like the other 10 guys on his team are playing football while he's trying to kill someone.

I remember the 80 draft. The Giants desperately needed a quality running back to take the pressure off of Simms. When I read the paper the next day and saw that they drafted a linebacker I audibly cursed, like I did with the Phil Who? pick. We already had great LBs in Van Pelt, Carson, and Kelley--we didn't need another LB. After I saw three plays by LT I silently apologized for my reaction to his pick and said that he was way better than any RB we could have drafted at #2. One three-and-out convinced me that this guy was special with a capital S (for Superman). I'm old enough to remember seeing Sam Huff, Ray Nitschke, Dick Butkus, and LT was like all three combined, with Mickey Mantle's speed thrown in. He was the Bobby Fischer of linebackers.
