I'm with you. Mama and I sat every Saturday evening watching Lawrence walk , eating potato chips and buttermilk. 😢. How I miss her and couldn't bring myself to watch for a long time with out tearing wishing she was here. , and I still cannot stay focused to watch an entire program.

My grandma took me to see the Lawrence Welk Show live on my 16th birthday as a surprise. Unfortunately I had just dropped 10 hits of LSD and was on my way out the door when she arrived to pick me up. My parents made me go. It was unbelievable. I never had such a great time. I danced and sang. I even shook Lawrence Welks hand and cried.

Have Just watched and listened to the greatest entertainment ever. As a regular listender and watcher of the 234 shows I have listed, any other watcher may see at times that at least 4 musicians, violinist, trumpet, trombone a saxaphone player excel themselves by joinng in the vocalists performances. Most certainly proves how adaptable and versatile all his performers can be.

I can honestly say that whenever Tom Netherton wore a tuxedo on the show, he looked so incredibly handsome! I can remember the times when I used to watch the Lawrence Welk Show with my late grandmother on Saturday nights, and whenever Tom was on, my grandmother would call me to let me know that he was on, in case I wasn't with her right away. That being said, I can say that for me, considering he was my biggest crush, even though I was much younger at the time, (just a teenager), he would've definitely been my ideal type of guy!! In my heart, he will forever & always be my *dream prince!*

I think this show came on Sunday’s. There was 8 of us kids and I was the youngest. Mom would be in the kitchen cooking. She was such a quiet peaceful woman. Loved by everyone. Well us kids hated this show. So we wait just as good, thinking she wasn’t paying attention. And my older siblings made me to be the one to turn the channel. We be all good in what we all wanted to see. All of a sudden you’d here from the kitchen “y’all not slick, you better turn it back”. Well... as the story goes. When they finally got the black guy on the show. We was now accepting to watch. But, I became to really love the show anyways with or without him. I loved the beautiful gowns and even the singing to be quite honest. Moms gone on to glory now. What I wouldn’t give to have her and Lawrence welk back. Just ONE MORE TIME😥 RIP MOM AND MR WELK.

My dad was too young for this. He was born in 1913. This show was for WW1 vets and others born before WW1. As a young child in the '60s, I found it corny to the point of being surreal. I am less prejudiced now. Polkas don't freak me out any more.

I am searching for one tune from what I believe was featured on the Show, from March 3, 1974, the episode is "We Believe in Music" featuring husband and wife, Mary Lou Metzger, and Richard Maloof, in their duet, "Them There Eyes". Any help if you have it would be most appreciated! Thanks!
