Very timely and sadly so, due to the passing of Clay Hart today, as reported by Ralna English on her Facebook page. Apparently, he fought a long, brave battle--remembering his artistry and contributions to the Welk show. Thank you for posting.
I’m also saddened to discover that Clay Hart has now died, from what, I do not know. He was 80. This hosting of a rerun was probably one of the last tv appearances he’s ever made. Now Salli of Sandi and Salli is currently a widow, and the Lawrence Welk Musical Family has lost one of its greatest voices ever. Clay’s folk/country spin on several standards on the Lawrence Welk Show during the early 70s will forever be missed. He’s probably up in guitar heaven with his fateful companions Buddy Merrill and Neil Levang.
I am searching for one tune from what I believe was featured on the Show, from March 3, 1974, the episode is "We Believe in Music" featuring husband and wife, Mary Lou Metzger, and Richard Maloof, in their duet, "Them There Eyes". Any help if you have it would be most appreciated! Thanks!
