4:46 - 'eccentric hypertrophy is increased external diameter' - I thought it was decreased external diameter as you get dilatation of chamber (increased cavity size, but relatively normal wall thickness due to sarcomerogenesis added in series & parallel? (Please clarify as I may not understand - Thanks)
Eccentric hypertrophy does indeed mean the outside diameter increases. Highly aerobically trained athletes develop bigger hearts with normal wall thickness to allow higher cardiac outputs. Compare this to heart failure with reduced ejection fraction where external diameter is also increased but pathologically so
