@theincrediblefox
@theincrediblefox 4 года назад
@@karstais Well, i'd beg to differ. Normal vanilla ArmA combat defenitely has some element of war glorification going on. When you shoot someone, he just drops dead immediately. No screaming, no suffering, no limbs being cut off, no brutallity, no life slowly fading out of your targets body, while he goes through unimaginable pain. It presents war as a really clean and surgical thing, when it is most defenitely not. ArmA does a great job of accurately depicting how modern infantry combat works, but it is very poor in showing what happens, when you start engaging your foes.

@@theincrediblefox That's what happens when you get shot lol...? You don't scream, or and limbs aren't cut off when getting shot. If anything that makes it more comical. While yes in some scenarios people scream and cry out for help, but that's when they're either injured or not about to die.

Finished this campaign. Best I've played in years to be honest. As far as FPS are concerned. In the air drop mission I lost one man and the rice scattered all over the hillside. I chose position A. The cluster bomb could have been NATO pulling off a Black Op/ False Flag. Arma 4 needs to be more like this campaign than any of their others.
@nandoman4769
@nandoman4769 Год назад
I really never understood this idea that it might have been NATO that preformed the bombing. It really doesn’t serve NATO at all to have assisted in that bombing. In fact it caused the exact opposite result of what NATO would have wanted and ended up solidifying the AAF and CSAT’s control over Altis. It’s especially a stupid theory when you learn that there was a witness who unbeknownst to them actually saw the Chinese SOF and heard them speaking Chinese.

This was my favorite ArmA campaign. Period. The amount of effort put into it is astonishing. I absolutely love it. Some other things to mention: The reason a lot of this centers around the church is because occupying a religious building during wartime is a war crime. A lot of characters mentioned (including the "NATO" [CTRG] forces) were present in the base game's singleplayer. The reason people got mad at CSAT during this was due to the civilian casualties. It is also a war crime to kill unarmed peoples, especially medics, regardless of faction. Cluster bombs are similar to landmines; not all the pellets detonate. Another law of war is that, upon picking up a firearm, you are officially deeming yourself a combatant and you being killed is considered justified. The Bobcat uses the massive scoop in front to mimic real life demining vehicles, which use similar scoops to literally rip mines from the ground. The reason people blame CSAT is that they had no true reason to be present on Altis/Stratis. They, alongside the FIA, AAF, and even NATO, committed crimes during the War on Altis. You can probably guess why landmines are illegal. The FIA ambushing Adams and the AAF is another important aspect (as well as the mention of the convoy, which is from the Bootcamp singleplayer). They're attempting to steal goods from humanitarian aid organizations, killing civilians, AAF, and NATO. That's all I can really grab for now. This DLC covers so many little things that a lot of people missed out on.

Nate Davis Let's be honest tho, i'd love a graphics and gameplay overhaul (aka ArmA 4) but this mini-campaign had better writing and a stronger theme than any ArmA SP content yet. If you were to combine the storytelling of LawsOfWar with "ArmA 4"'s gameplay and graphical enhancements, imagine a cinematic action-packed campaign that actually has a dramatic story and interesting characters along with a much more immersive enviroment, better sound design, and less... arma bugginess. Gets me a little excited for the future :)

ArmA 3 devs are out here making content like this which has an amazing story and incorporates amazing mission designing features like the flashbacks but from EVERY combat scene, you can see how much help this game needs. The AI is an absolute trainwreck, performance is questionable in singleplayer at best. The devs really need to start sorting this out if they want this franchise to remain as great as it is today.

You would not BELIEVE how difficult it is to get the clear noise of a mine going off from an ARMA III video. Thanks for being one of the few not talking over the entire playthrough/demo/thing, so I could let my friend hear the noise that tells them if they're "Fucked or not."

Did you play East wind campaign Drewski? A lot of easter eggs in this Laws of War for ex. Adams marking drops or Miller at castle...

Whoa, what did you do in that Church mission? The end I got didn't mention anything about war crimes or summery executions aside from my minefield. Did you shoot everyone left breathing or something?

Well worth playing though, if you run through all 40+ memories, and the five or so missions, its an incredible story, thanks for the first look.
