Bohemia Interactive should really do more DLC's like this. They've obviously invested a lot more time into the writing, voice acting and creativy.

wait, hold up, I just realized something, was this entire campaign about stopping a bunch of guys from shooting up alien *cell tower technicians???* when they came to fix thier damaged cellphone tower!?!

So wait a minute. Correct me if I'm wrong but here's the story: NATO and Livonians are having a training exercise when something goes awry and some weird roots pop out of the ground. Then an alien spacecraft shows up to try and remove/extract the roots, which are actually megabombs. The Livonians don't know this though, and attack the spacecraft. It's now up to the Russians and a rag-tag group of Americans to prevent the Livonians from unintentionally ending the world. This story is WILD.

He: "You didnt get the tank" Russians: no we passed it to you

I liked how Bohemia didn't turn it into generic "evil russians" thing. Cause the first thing I thought when I saw spetsnaz mentioned, was - "oh ok, guess I'll be killing waves of highly trained soldiers all alone, like in apex". And lots of hidden details here and there are also great. The background is like in Hemingway's stories, it's speaking for itself. So it felt like an rpg for me. Aaand knowing russian, it was much easier to figure out what to do in the end, lol

Poor aliens, intergalactic tower technician just trying to fix a broken intergalactic cable from earth and gets attack by the LDF. Probably they are intergalacticly under paid as well

Again, WHY WOULD ANYONE SHOOT AT AN ALIEN AIRCRAFT. *IT MASTERED SPACEFLIGHT, WOULDNT YOU THINK IT MASTERED WARFARE TOO?*

I keep admiring the quality of the DLC. Those russians spoke without any english accent. It seems like they've hired actual russian voice actors for that scene. The words were picked very carefully and it's generally pleasant to listen. Great job. Thanks for sharing this dlc with us man

Plot twist: The ship's russian, they just needed a viable reason to annex the country

So basically alien cable repair crew came to earth to fix or uninstall the system and a battle was fought.

That strange feeling when Russians are just Russians, not Teh Bad Guys™. Also, that even stranger feeling when they actually save the world. That was a very welcome plot twist, in my opinion.

This seemed more like a passion project then a regular DLC, they had originally intended for aliens to be in the BASE game for Arma 3 but decided against it. This is something they have wanted to do for a while and it shows.

Time to spend a hour on my mobile data watching this defo worth it hah

gotta admit, the quality in the voice acting, dialogue and sound design is extremely well done. I wish whoever made this DLC would make a full length game with a similar premise because it's pretty god damn well done.

Wow, I bet Bohemia could also launch their next DLC also available as Powerpoint slides. Framerate is then no problem on any machine (you can get a good frame rate by holding PgDn), it's much easier to just skip the long grinding missions and Drewski could edit the videos easier.

remember in 2020? a meteor hit olom? Message of the future?

little tip: you dont need to be under the alien to communicate, just enough where them pulses are... and its always a second frequency (not that main one) with a pattern. also that misson which you "hated"... play less agressive and more tactical (command livonians into the north/whatever as HQ, deceive, hack the UGV's... its not classic ArmA gameplay!

I gotta say man, the mission you thought was so bad, it's on you man, i personally had no problem with it, as well as the making contact with the alien drones, you didn't pay attention at the start, you need to wait for it to stop pulsing until you can advance. So most of your gripes are just out of laziness i guess, as for the frames, well that's arma indeed. Love your vids man but this rustled my jimmies if you catch my drift.

The part where you're listening to a single broadcast talking about the Aliens and working to get back in contact with them, and then there's a massive burst of noise across all frequencies at the end. That gave me chills. That's some great storytelling.

If they remade this into another game = 10/10. They should really make more cool games like this!

Fking loved it mate, this is the first time I was so eager to watch an Arma 3 video, the scripting and environmental sounds was excellent. It is a shame about the FPS and typical Arma bugs, but the story was so good it made up for it. So that just leaves me to say a massive Thank You for uploading these awesome videos, I really enjoyed every minute of it.👍👍 (Definitely a 2 thumbs up scenario)

So in Anomalous Phenomena there are actually a lot of hidden easter eggs. I did notice the hitboxes in a lot of the terrain objects (trees, rocks, shrubs) were way too large and I would get stuck a lot. I won't spoil any for you, but just go around the map and focus on the points of interest. Also follow that map note if you haven't already. I think it would be worth it to put together a video on all the small details in AP.

Thanks for producing such a high quality series exploring this DLC Drewski, it really is appreciated. I love how much this DLC added to Arma 3, in terms of both tonally and also object wise. This was fantastic.

I find it kinda funny how the story boils down to aliens dealing with cable.

The first two acts were my favourite too. Drewski there's a lot more to find in the woods! Its worth going back and looking for more intel at each point of interest.

You are just doing the mission wrong, you aren't supposed to go up to the roots, you are supposed to use the tool to divert squads and then use the drones.

It looks like I came at the right time, btw I love your videos and especially the previous videos of Arma 3 Contact DLC.

I loved the contact campaign, the hardest part for me was the last mission where we defended the core preventing ARMAgeddon.... lol. I kept haveing to do it over again because they kept blowing up the C4, so I kept rushing to the C4, killing everyone near it and disarming it. I was able to complete the campaign with it actually firing any shots and killing anyone till the last mission. I just kept using the spectrum device to find out where all the enemy patrols where and diverted them. Well, I did fire a few, shot this one guerrilla fighters and then shot a bunch of looters, but I never engaged the LDF. The guerilla fighter i killed seemed to be bugged, I found him in this building that had a bunch of weapons, ammo, rockets, and corpses of dead looters. He was standing near some stairs in the building with a sawed off shotgun, and kept trying to aim at me but put his gun down, then aimed, then gun down, and it was looped like that till I shot him. I got a nice marksmen rifle from that building too.

Bro this has been an AMAZING series thank you so much!

YES this is so entertaining I love this storyline

I hate the little tiny detail they overlooked but it completely killed the immersion for me: There was no sound delay when the alien mothership warped out, the zap could be heard on the player at the same time. The ship had to be at least several hundred meters in the air and probably a klick away from the player position... me sad.

As Russian myself, im very pleased by this voice-acting. Bohemia at least found some real russians, not random guys to scream "ПРИКРОЙТЕ МЕНЯ Я ПЕРЕЗАРЯЖАЮСЬ" with accent.
