I thought of something to fill in the trenches instead of a dozer. A “V” blade on the back of a bigger tractor seems like it would fill in the trench quicker and more efficiently. Oh, now I see George has it handled, never mind! 😂 I will say, it would really be efficient if you could incorporate that behind the tile plow.👍

@charlesaugello4122
@charlesaugello4122 6 месяцев назад
Yea I love the 3 pt. Short runs I can just back up to the next run. I feel it’s much handier to get around with. You can turn with it just has to be gradually like anything with a 3pt. Went from a leibrecht pull type that was like pulling a boat anchor to a soil max 3pt. Would never go back

Hey Dennis, @ about the 9:38 mark you mentioned the idea of having a big tractor with a 3 point hitch would make it easier to get around while tiling. You do know the new QuadTrac 715 can be equipped with a 3 pt hitch, right? I’m sure hoping that when you get ready to swap out tractors that we’ll be seeing some big 715’s on Ivers Farms!! 👌

I don't know anything about tiling because on our farms water just ran over the hill and into a creek. I do know if we had to rip down 30 inches we would be in solid shale or solid limestone; different life. How long would you say does it takes on average to receive ROI on tiling in your area.
