People don't hate Layton, they just think he has a massive advantage over the other celebrities in that he has a musical theatre background, plus a number of years at various stage schools. It's a bit like putting a trained thoroughbred up against a cart horse in a competition and wondering why the thoroughbred won.

​@@necoragha65 Unfortunately there is still a highly vocal minority here that still feeĺ same sex partners should not be allowed on the show. Added to that is the fact that Layton will not conform to gender stereotypes when it comes to makeup and clothes. Also, although minimal in comparison to the rampant homophobic attacks, there have been some racial attacks as well. It's so sad that (finally) we've got to the point where we can encourage girls to do what they want (eg become an engineer, footballer, mechanic etc) and wear what they want but as soon as a boy does EXACTLY THE SAME THING, people still lose their sh*t over it.....

Firstly, when Motsi, mentioned 'all the negativity' it gave Nikita the freedom to call out the actual hate that Layton has been receiving over SM (And if you haven't seen it, count yourself lucky, some of it, even directed at his mother, has been beyond vile). Right, back to Layton- yes he's a pro dancer, but he's a pro solo dancer, who actually only started training when he managed to get the role of Billy Elliot. Most pros start age 4/6 at the latest. He has never done either ballroom or Latin, so all the technicalities attached to these forms of dance, including dancing in hold are brand new to him. Now onto the remaining competitors. Of those remaining, only Bobby may have no dance experience, and I'm not altogether sure about that... Also, for the record, Nigel Harman has more musical theatre experience than Layton. And I believe he's due to go back on stage next year.

The whole problem, in a nutshell, is that the people attacking Layton for his dance experience, are forgetting the whole point of Strictly which is that it is, and has always been ONLY a light entertainment show, not a formal dance competition. There have always been celebs with a wide variety of dance experience on the show to prevent it from becoming tedious in the extreme. The very first season had Claire Sweeney, an Italia Conti graduate just like Layton. The final is decided purely by the public vote so the answer is simple, vote for who you want to win, just stop behaving like total dicks in the process - stop tearing down other contestants.... When ANYONE, regardless of their prior dance experience, agrees to be on the show, they should be commended, not attacked. This season has brought out the very worst in some of the so called 'fans' of the show. There are so many things to worry about in the world, who takes part in Strictly is not one of them.

Watching them both dance tonight was so emotional. The boys have been through so much together and they came back fighting!!! Watching Nikita cry made me sad to!! They have each other and the bond between them is very strong. Well deserved 40 Boys!!!!!!

Well said actually. Completely agree with you. When you realise it, he’s actually a sweet person who wants to make the world proud and not only do it for his family but obviously for us too. Look I understand he has some backgrounds but the hate is getting tiresome. He’s such an inspiration once you get to know him more. Even when he said in the VT for his Couples Choice in Blackpool that every step he puts out there he does it for his mum. So he really is a nice guy and I love him. Shame he was in the dance off last week. So happy he got a 40. AT LAST!!

He's a musical professional dancer of course he was going to get a 40 his day Job is literally danceing in musicals the show are fixing it for him to win even the contestants know this now which is why Nigel probably walked as he finally understood that the show is fixed for layton to win and he didnt want to be apart of a unfair show who have already decided thier winner we all know that graig hates bobby he never gives him a break he probely met bobbys mum ages ago and she wasn't nice to him so is now trying his hardest to find bad things about his dances ad revenge I am happy they all got through to next week but next weeks show the judges should just stand up and admit that the show is fixed for layton to win and apologize to the other celebrities and all moti cares about is layton I know for a fact if layton did his tribute to his mum the same as bobby did last week graig and moti would be crying thier eyes out and giving him 10s bobby did his dance last weel for his mum and straight away graig talked bad about the dance instead of giving him a break and you could tell moti was dying to talk bad about his dance but felt bad so talk nice about it instead both of them sat thier emotionless as long as layton wins they don't care about the other celebrities

Like you I usually find myself watching the professional dancer, but when I notice I’m watching the celebrity, it’s usually a sign that they are exceptional and I can relax and enjoy them too. And that’s when I have to go to RU-vid and watch again.

In all the excitement I forgot to say that I'm so glad it was a song from the stage musical because Moulin Rouge The Musical is such a new musical on stage, that's what makes this even more great ❤ *edit* Tom Hiddleston and Zawe Ashton got to watch this live in the studio, I have never been more envious of a celebrity couple ever 😂❤

I screamed the word "YES" like 500 times in a space of a minute. When the music changed and they suddenly started dancing to toxic I looked around (no one was there I was alone) and I gasped for air I couldn't believe what I was watching the excitement was too much

As I saw the Strictly Tour this year I can now actually say I saw this danced live in an arena and oh my gosh! it was actually better live and I can't believe they manged to make that happen because it was already perfect! 😭

@unasperanza9803 he's never done Paso before and learned that in a few days. Ballroom & Latin are an entirely different skill set to his previous experience. He's an incredibly gifted and talented performer and Strictly would have been a mediocre borefest without him this year.

@@Liamxroberts people parrot the same comment because it sounds good. But I’ve yet to hear anyone point out which part of the routine (aside from brief interactions with backing dancers at beginning and end) wasn’t paso.

Finally I found you, after watching this you were the first person I wanted to talk to lol. Firstly 6th judge here I've decided to join the squad and of course it was a 10 from me. The fact people are tossing between laytons paso doble and Argentin tango says it all. I don't care if layton doesnt win he was the best this year due to his brillant performances but for also coming out week after week to a disgusting bigoted public. Absolutely amazing 👏🏿

I saw a dance person saying this was more Paso Doble than Ellie's was a quickstep. But I doubt the haters will acknowledge that one at all!

@@thekid8224 It just shows how little people know that they can't tell the difference between the moves. It's just easier to repeat the narrative of other haters "they're all the same", "they're all show dances" rather than identify the portion of the dance that was not actually correct for that discipline. At least, any more so than any off the other contestants include an element of "faff" in their routines. The fact that he has not scored 10s every dance goes to show that Layton being a dancer does not give quite as much advantage as some people think. These dances are new disciplines for him, and he has not been able to master the techniques of all the various dances very succesfully despite his best efforts (the judges have also been marking him very strictly due to his capability, which is fair). This was not the first 10-worthy dance of the series, either by him or by another contender (Ellie should also have had a couple), but Craig holding back until now has made it even more dramatic, so it's good telly. I've read the comments of the pro dancers too. They all agree with the perfect 40.
