Thank you for the excellent video! I have only recently discovered your page on RU-vid and am really digging the fragrance content you provide. The casual yet informative demeanor/style you embody/exhibit whilst expounding upon fragrances is appreciated and refreshing. And by that I mean not at all pretentious or pedantic. The anecdotal vignettes about specific scents in action are also cool and helpful. Very good stuff. 😊 Regarding the fragrances in this video, I also find them each to be delicious and sexy. YSL LNdH is more subtle and preferable for daily/signature scent wearing. It also feels as if it ‘fits my personality’ a bit more closely when I’m wearing it, whereas Layton is more of a special occasion or night out on the town with friends kind of deal. Layton (like most/all PDM scents I’ve encountered, tbh) is delectable yet simultaneously so LOUD and powerful (to my nose) that it has become almost completely consigned to a cool/cold weather fragrance for me. It is also expensive as hell (except when Jomashop has their crazy sales!) so I’m far stingier with my trigger finger when spraying PDM than with LNdH. So, yeah. Lol 💸🐎💸
Oh damn that’s a tough one! I have and love both but they are so different and amazing in their own ways. LNDL is also much cheaper so it has that going for it, even if you have to overspray haha. I can’t see myself ever not owning both. It just comes down to mood for the day.
My 2020 la nuit performs really good. Got a compliment after 2 hours of applying, she said that I filled the whole room. Was playing golf and sweated a little, so there is that.
Depends on your batch of lndl I usually spray heavy with that one with 6 sprays and lasts about 7hrs so average. My PDM though doesn’t perform as it used to be with 12+hrs now it’s 6-8hrs

And I own both of these, and I have to agree with you. La Nuit is just so damn perfect scent wise. So good I own 2 bottles & a decant Haha
I have a 2014 batch YSL La Nuit. It's amazing. I have about 2 ounces left. I did re purchase a new bottle about one year ago, and yes, it's not the same. I will wear my new YSL during the Holidays. Layton is on my list to buy.
I have both and love both but I think my Layton went bad. Its a batch from May 2018 and it doesn't last as long as it used to. Base notes are completely gone after a few hours. Luckily I've used at least half the bottle. If you hold your phone light behind the bottle in a dark room, you can see the juice level in Layton which is really cool.
Bought Layton from the Jomashop sale and that scent was love at first sniff. I wore the regular YSL L’homme 10 years ago and currently my best friend wears La Nuit De L’homme. It smells excellent but I just need to switch it up
Layton was my scent of the day , sweet apple pie vibe with vanilla . My day was even sweeter knowing that my Phillies are going to the World Series 🤞🏾🤞🏾
As a life long Giant’s fan, naturally there’s a strong rivalry with some California teams, especially the Dodger, then the Padres. I was pulling for the Phillies. Probably just to spite my friends and family that are Padres fans, lol. Congats to the Phillies and Astro fans looking forward to watching an exciting world series.
I have both. Nuit is versatile. Love it. I am addicted to the soft cedar notes in it. Sexy and calm at the same time. Layton is different. I always love Layton's opening (sweet cardamom). But then it changes negatively. It turns dominant vanilla. This vanilla is harsh to me. It gives nausea. For this reason, I won't buy Layton again, but I always buy Nuit.
I never have a hard time choosing which to wear, LND for dates & Layton for night outs. My vintage Layton is beast & my 2011 LND is backup bottle worthy & worth the price IF U can find it
I'd go for YSL La Nuit de L'Homme also. 🙂👍 (Regarding positive feedback on me it's up there with EM Molecule 01 and, back in the day, the og Dior Fahrenheit.)
Hi Melissa, greetings from the Philippines! Is your Layton is the 78% or 82% formulation? I have the new 82% and it has decent performance on my skin but I heard the 78% had much better performance similar to your experience. Keep up all the great work!!
I have had 2 78% and Layton isn’t a beastmode frag but the performance is good. I’d say 8-12hrs depending. I’ve gotten compliments in my scent bubble 5-6 hrs after application
YSL smells good but you gotta overspray it and it doesn’t last long nor projects well. Layton all day if u wanna smell like a boss. Not to bash on nobody but I don’t wanna smell like anyone that just came out of Ulta, I’m willing to pay the price to smell unique and have different notes
@@MrSpeedy620 i layer molecule 01 with everything pretty much. molecule on my chest and forearms and then la nuit on both arms and then front and back of neck i hit with layton but it depends on the day! they all work great together cus of the cardamom! no right or wrong way to spray tbh! i always hit my clothes too! i'm an over sprayer lol
Very odd to be comparing an everyday versatile fragrance to a solely date night fragrance. Makes zero sense.This is the equivalent to comparing D&G The One to Versace Pour Homme.
