You can fix these with rigid foam window weatherstripping pads (experiment with various diameters). Stiff enough where its not too spongey, and once the bezel is put back on, it creates enough force to securely wedge the cable back to the board. It does work and I fixed one I got 6 years ago, still works. When you are poor like me and cannot afford a $750 HDTV, and get that same $750 HDTV for $60-$85, this is what you have to do.

dude you're a fucking genius!!!! I fixed my TV exactly by constantly rubbing slowly those ribbons and applying a bit of heat from a blow dryer to re-liquify the glue and it stays!!!!

I took it to the shop and the guy said $200 lol i took it home popped on youtube and fixed it in 45 min for free with electrical tape.. Thanks for the video!!!

This video is great! I am not really much closer to fixing my TV. But since it is the exact situation I have and my TV looks fairly similar from the inside, I am confident that what you are describing is my issue. And as someone who knows a thing or two about tech (however 0 about TVs unfortunately) that is worth much more to me than some crappy video preaching expensive quick fixes. Thanks!

thanks for pointing out how the lines are created. I bought an Insignia 19" lcd tv from Best Buy this month and already I have 2-4 blue/red/white lines going down the screen right at the edge of the left side. I will definitely take it apart later as it is getting worse.
