This is the video that is been selling the headers for lce performance, best advertisement ever , just got my headers and I’m really happy and satisfied with they’re performance and quality. Thanks Ron R.I.P 🙏
Just installed this same LCE header on my '87 22re. Excellent fit, excellent product, excellent customer service, excellent packaging and shipping. What a great company.
I installed a Downey header on my 94 p/u w/ the 22RE - I completely agree that the header provided excellent gains. The motors are not powerhouses, but with some intake and exhaust they quite nice. Cool video!
Just wanted to say that this video was the deciding factor in replacing the headers on my 91. I was able to drop the new headers in with no problems in just an hour or so. This video was excellent and saved me a ton of trouble. There needs to be more people willing to post helpful videos such as this. Thanks again.
Awesome video. The only header for a straight axle that goes right on and wont break. Everything Ive bought from LCE has fit with no trouble at all. There Header is outstanding. I completed mine with a full SS ceramic coated Magna flow exhaust system. offenhauser intake weber 38 outlaw. LCE torque cam ported and polished the head to match intake and header witch really helped smooth out the whole power band. The Tech crew at LCE are great as well. Cant beat them. Don't half ass your rig. Get the good stuff from LCE and never regret it. My 85 is a little torque monster Vids on youtube. Thanks LCE.
I ordered my LCE street header for my 22re toyota truck based off this video! I was trying to decide between Dough Thorley and LCE. My research all lead to what he is saying in this video. Great Video! Thanks
jblaust If you don’t mind me asking, what did you pay for this entire LCE system? I am thinking about doing it for my 1991 Toyota truck standard 4cyl. 2WD.
My dad just ordered the LCE for my truck. He had to grind the air injection block plates. They both hit the header welds. It took him all of 3 minutes to fix. LCE and Thorley are great. Sometimes you get the perfect fit sometimes you don't.
He also put in the 4 wire 02 sensor conversion and relocation kit. The 4 wire is actually a better set up. My truck runs noticeably better after he switched to the 4 wire.
The single wire 02 sensor is not a self heated unit. Relocating the single wire so far from the engine produces a less than accurate reading. It cant heat up the same. Takes longer to heat up and cools too fast.
Okay so I bought the lce street header for my 89 4x4 5speed. The header had great packaging and the product was flawless perfect bends and welds with a beefy flange. Unfortunately I had one big issue right off the bat. They sent me the two wheel drive variant which delayed my install by about 3 weeks. I got the replacement just after Christmas during which lce ran a 10% off sale. They offered 10% off in the form of an online store credit. Now as far as performance is concerned I didn't notice a difference. I think you need a new cat or test pipe and muffler to notice anything. My cat is at least 25 years old with over 300k miles so I'm sure that isn't helping. I've since ordered the pro flow cat back and test pipe and am waiting to install.
Ordered Pace Setter header kit for my 1993 Toyota 4x4 off eBay. Perfect fit! I eliminated the cat & run 2 1/4 straight pipe to the Thrush muffler. Huge power gains, cooler engine Temp's & better gas mileage. 215,000 miles on the old trusty Rusty.
I got a used DT Tri-Y off a pickup, and personally removed it myself. Fit perfectly fine to me... And If you want to clamp your whole exhaust system together, that's cool too. I usually weld mine aside from where my header ends, and it's most commonly a 3-bolt flange or a ball-socket one. LCE is a damn good product, but I can't shit on DT either.
Could you please provide all the item or part numbers? I have gone through the website and see many different options. I really like your set up and want to price it out. Thanks great video!
Good video dieseltechron!!! I was wondering about the o2 sensor location and didn't like the location on the previous header you had and its location/accuracy to read exhaust gas. This looks like a great system I will definitely look into when I get my exhaust for my 94 Toyota. Keep up the great videos!!!
How does it sound at 88 mph?? LOL Sorry, I couldn't resist a Back To The Future reference! Good video! I watched your Thorley vid too. Saved me a lot of headaches, and you point out some technical components that are vital to quality fitment and performance on headers that many "weekend warrior" mechanics don't necessarily think about....me included. We take for granted that big names like Thorley take the time to R&D their product to fit properly and safely. Obviously NOT. Thanks again!
Is there CARB# somewhere on the header?? My smog tech won’t pass me now, I passed before with the invoice/letter from LCE with EO #, so I have the # but no sticker or anything I can find ON the part??
Your comment from eight months ago which has no reply button says you didn't keep them? Can you elaborate on that? I'm looking for headers for my 94 Toyota pickup and have been looking at Doug Thorleys, you say they didn't work right. Was there a problem with the LCE's???
Hey got a 1988 pickup trying to buy the same product was wondering if you bought everything separately (catalytic, flow exhaust, and the actual header kit?). But same website?
Oh and also had a question... Was there holes in the header (where you got those 2 plates held on with 3 bolts)??? I've got a 22re and mine has EGR piping right there where those plates are bolted on yours. if you could respond that'd be super awesome!!!
I'm tryin to put a header on my 90 toyota 22re do u get rid of the egr tube completely or what I'm having problems with the header lining up on the head. Great video
Hello, hoping you see this. I am interested in the header and exhaust kit you got from lce and was wondering how well it did with smog? I also live in the valley and just wanted to make sure it would pass. san joaquin county area. Will go on an 85 of the same truck. Thanks
I know this is a very old post but i just bought a 94 toyota pickup ext cab 22re. i want a exhaust set up exactly like yours. where did you purchase the parts from?
89 to 95 has the sensor in the same spot. The header comes with the extension tube that has the o2 bung in it. If you have an 84 to 88 22re, check the box for the o2 sensor relocation option that costs a little more. I ordered the whole system today. Its painless, just pay attention to the check boxes on the header/exhaust options. Buy the street header if you're keeping everything in the stock configuration like I did
Ben Ruether ya I bought and installed the header and exhaust a long while ago. The guy that owned the truck before me I guess deleted the upstream O2 sensor, why? I couldn’t tell you, and I didn’t even realize it until I was watching other 22re videos and realized something was off 😪 it runs fine though with no issues so idk
I like the looks of the header but that muffler sounds like garbage how many miles to the rice patty do you get I've heard civics that don't sound as ricer as that
