Hey Shannon. Yeah the last few days has been great 70's weather by me as well. I hope youre having a great labor day as well. If you keep taking your grandchildren to comic shows, hopefully they will grow to have a love for comics. Very cool books, especially those Marvels Greatest Comics, i had some of those back in the day, always liked that little image of Torch on the upper left corner, torch was one of my favorite characters, 80cents is a steal for those books. Very cool JLA treasury, loved the treasures very cool interior stuff.
@@michaeltaylor978 Hey Michael .. My son and I might take them to the show in Nov and we’ll see how it goes lol I found some great deals today and would have stayed a little longer but would have spent too much money 😁 Happy Labor Day to you and your family my friend ..
Happy Labor Day to you and yours, Jeff! I was tickled pink to find all that stuff and would’ve stayed until the place closed, but I would’ve had to sell my car 😂 thank you for stopping by brother!
Those are some nice pick-ups- the cover on Green Arrow #50 is great! A silver age Archie! And that Justice League collector's book is a must! Also loving the shirt, Shannon! You labored quite well for those comic on Labor Day!
Hey Leo ! I probably enjoyed finding that classic Archie and Harvey stuff just as much or more than I did all the rest of it 😁 I haven’t had the JLA treasury since I was a kid so was very happy to have that one again. Thank you for stopping by my friend! 😊
That’s a great sale. And I like those Marvels Greatest Comics reprints. I’m working on those as well. Must be one of the earliest reprint series for the Silver Age super hero books. I like those Cap issues too. Oh, nice save on FF 104! Cool Jones Batman.
Some nice pickups Shannon, Haunted Gotham, I don't usually comment on artists but Kelley Jones does some amazing looking work, also some cool Alien Encounters and then pulling that JLA Collectors Edition out at the end. I also liked your use of sound effects as well 😄
Hey Tempus! Thanks for stopping by my friend.. I really enjoyed Kelley Jones’ work on Batman, and I was tickled to find the AE issues.. Finding that JLA treasury brought back some great childhood memories 😊 Appreciate you watching!
@@CrazyHungarian Thank you kind sir! I was really happy to find all the stuff that I did. I was telling a couple of other people on here that I found that shirt at a comic show down in Tennessee a few yrs ago . The guy had that one and a few other designs and said he’d been selling them out of his garage lol Thank you for watching buddy !
Nice haul Shannon! I really love those twenty cent cover Marvel’s Greatest Comics issues. Obviously the original Kirby’s are superior but it’s neat to see those reimagined covers with the 70’s style and vibrant colors. Good stuff! Have a great week my friend!
@@LeadPaint1 Thanks Greg! I love that MGC series , especially those giant squarebound issues early on . Found lotsa fun stuff at the sale. Happy Labor Day to you and your family brother!
Pretty doggone good group of comics you scored, Brother! Eighty cents?! Thant's it, I told Tam we're moving down there as soon as I figure out how, lol! That 25 cent Marvel's Greatest Comics is one I did not know I needed until seeing this video! I have most of those 25centers from that month(Oct 1971 but that one is not in the collection...yet. Great stuff; JLA collector's edition, Gunmaster, Cap, Charlton romance, talk about being all over the map like Anthony said, lol! Awesome video as always, Brother, hope you and the family had a great holiday weekend!
@@drsilverage Hey Rod! I made out like a bandit and would have brought home more books but I thought we might need groceries this week, so.. 😂 I don’t have a list of those Marvel .25 cent squarebounds so I was just as surprised as you when I found out that was one of them. I’m starting to wonder if I like too many genres in comics or if I just have ADHD ! lol I came home thinking I left way too many great comics in the boxes 😱 Thanks for watching brother!
Good morning Shannon 👊 To quote a great man "For 80 cents ??? Come-on." ☺️ That great man also said, " I'm all over the map today, that's just the way I am, with music too " - same here 👍 See you Saturday brotha 🫡🎸
Easy! Being all over the map is a good thing in this hobby, right my friend? 😊Thanks so much for stopping by and looking forward to you musical stylings for CBM Sat.. Take care brother 👊
Wow, what a great stack of books and all but that Treasury for under a dollar. Jonah Hex #1! Yes please! Yea, it is low grade but that is better than no grade. It is an excellent series. I love that Treasury. As you showed it I pulled out my copy to look through. Again, good stuff my friend.
Hey Erik. I was happy to come away with all that great stuff and especially that treasury. I’m sure I’ll upgrade that Jonah Hex at some point, but for a buck I’ll take that all day long lol Thanks for watching my friend 😊
Looks like you got some amazing deals there! I didn't know about that Batman Haunted Gotham mini-series. I love any Doug Moench and Kelley Jones's Batman works, so I,m putting this on my list. 80 cents for that DC 100-pagers was a steal! Only 20 cents more than the original price if you had bought it back in the day! And if we include inflation over 60 + years you actually paid less than the original cover price! Fun Charlton oddball titles we don't see very often like Lil' Genius and Ponytail (I had no idea Charlton had reprised the series when Dell folded). That Mike Grell Green Arrow is gorgeous (he did a lot of them on his very good run). There is a nice variety in your haul: superheroes, Gold Key cartoons, indie sci-fi, western, Archie... Love it!
Hey Ranger! I enjoy just about any genre of comics, so I’m all over the place.. Good thing about that is you never run out of stuff to collect! 😁 Thanks so much for stopping by and always leaving a great comment!
🤓No labor to call this a hauliday My Brother. A fantastic foreshadowing of what has of late stirred enthusiastic interest for me -- the Fun , Fun books : Harvey , Archie and Archie style humors , Ponytail ( based on a single panel comic strip akin to Dennis The Menace among other favorites) type comic strip adaptations , GK Goodness - Mighty Samson and 🎶🎶Pink Panther! " All over the map. " that is an excellent statement for a true collector to make when comparing hunts " In the wild". 🗣" What books were you hunting for?" An inquiring mind wants to know to which an aficionado responds " All over the map!".
@@anthonyperdue3557 Hey Anthony! I really loved all the variety I saw as I perused all those comic boxes yesterday. I really didn’t have anything in mind I that I wanted to hunt down but I brought my handy dandy want list with me and I think I actually got to cross A couple off my list like that JLA treasury. Hope you and your family had a great holiday weekend brother 😊
Hey Dave .. Stan may have never used that word, but guessing that we both read enough of Stan’s Soapbox to know that he used a lot of similar adjectives 😂 Congrats on scoring all those Dell and GK books and thank you for stopping by 😊
80 cents is nice! Jonah Hex #1 is always a good pick-up and an obtainable rabbit hole to go down for a run. I also consider myself a high-ranking official within the wounded warrior project. Keep fighting the good fight!
""Loquacious"?! I am not sure Stan Lee ever even used that word, LOL!!! We had a store here in Denver that was going out of business this weekend. I picked up some nice Dell/Gold Key Disney books for around a buck a piece (a few cost a bit more but were square bound beauties in great shape.) Regarding Kelley Jones' Batman, never cared for those ridiculously long horns on his cowl. But he could easily defeat his enemies simply by head-butting them and running them through.
Hey Shannon, just in case you list your comics, that's not Archie Giant Series, it's Lil Jinx Giant Laugh-Out #40. For reasons I havent' heard truly explained, Archie Giant Series skipped 100, then 200 numbers. In 1965, numbering went from 35 followed by 136, and again in 1976, from 251 to 452. Many titles have "Giant" on them but are not an issue of Archie Giant Series Magazine.
Hey QNS! I haven’t gotten around to listing much of my Archie stuff but I get what you’re saying about the numbering.. Archie was almost as quirky as Charlton when it came to that lol Thanks or watching buddy ! 😊
No, I actually found that at a comic show in Tennessee a few years ago. The guy was selling several kinds of those at the show and I was happy to get it!
I love that Wendy cover #52 (year I was born), I have two copies of it. Great picks for.80! Shannon,, from what company did you get that tee shirt? I’ve been looking for a good quality cotton shirt of that issue number 18
@@captainstrangelife Hans ! Great to hear from you again brother! Man, I love that old Harvey stuff so much .. I actually got that shirt at a comic show down in Tennessee a few years ago.. He had several different ones but I had to have that one. He said he’d been selling them out of his garage lol go figure.. Thanks so much for stopping by my friend!
