LDR should not cost money, especially you haven’t met in person. Before meeting a Filipina, she was getting by okay. But, once you are married, you should support her.

It is also comforting to know that us old, obese foreigners still have a shot in the Philippines! 🤣 As for LDR and whether money is necessary, I want to believe the answer is "no" but understand that in almost all cases the answer has to be yes, especially if the foreigner has money and the Filipina does not. If you really care about someone, how could you not send her money to help her and her family when they needed it? I could see it become a slippery slope, however, because the fear of the foreigner will be that she only likes him for the money. I liked your comments where she will receive a certain amount in exchange for quitting working, or whatever. While I have never been in an LDR, I would prefer not getting into a situation where the Filipina has to ask for money as opposed to receiving a set amount. The asking will become awkward and over time, build resentment. Hope you are enjoying Finland!

I am half Irish/England- ish okay, but my pinay works in Malta, and want to meet-up at Manila Airport to go to her province but my concern is Mosquitoes. She said it will okay but years ago when I went to Santorina (Greece island) the Mosquitoes vampires were sucking all my blood every night. 😢
Thanks for sharing, very interesting. Could you please talk more about what the Filipina means 'to be provided for' In what ways? Also could you explain why the Philippines has the highest number of single mothers? Only please exclude that it's a Catholic country, as other Catholic countries don't have such numbers of single mothers.
