@@FurryestXnot every sim needs modding, you have literally EVERYTHING you can imagine on AC, but if you want something that is the absolute pinnacle of certain cars in quality and physics with official licensing - this is where LMU comes in

@ianas Not to forget.. limited tracks means you can master all of them. On other games like GT7 for example there are so many tracks that I can never master all of them. But eventual DLC tracks whether they be historic WEC tracks or potential ones would be cool.

Tip Anyone having sliding issues: turn off autoblip and autolift for a smooth driving experience. I literally gained almost 2 secobds just turning these off cause im not fighting the car anymore.

@@alexkayracing I’ve been doing a bit of both. And I’ve got to say I’m surprised at the performance- I’m not sure if I just got lucky, if the hotfix they released made a big difference, or a bit of both, but I’ve not experienced too many bugs in both single and multiplayer. It’s been about what I would have expected from an early access title. Far from what some of the reviews have said, but to be fair I also don’t down that some folks have had bad experiences. Hopefully they continue to work on it and make it better, but in the meantime I’m still enjoying the heck out of it. 😃

Single player is very good. Took me a bit to find the level AI I could reasonably compete against, but the AI is very good

If you find the will, try some online races bro. You will still fight for personal bests while getting good results if you are consistent as most drivers crash atleast once or multiple times in a race

I personally think that even tho the AI are a bit bugged at the moment, Single Player is still worthwhile. Agreed the amount of resources required is pretty high and some of the UI is presently a bit laggy but this has been improved from Day 1. I think the physics is excellent and overall a great way to experience these WEC series cars, with the attitute that things will continue to improve whilst in Early Access. Look forward to more videos 👍

Definitely mate the single player can be good, players will have to be okay with reducing their graphics heavily to make it playable. I think if you play on triples like me and you’re okay with using only one of those monitors or an ultra wide then the game can run really smoothly. Using triples however is going to be a big graphical sacrifice. The good thing however is that in multiplayer it’s not an issue as the cpu/RAM don’t need to worry about processing 30+ AI behaviours. Great video. Those remarks on racing vs AI, well... you should reduce the amount of visible cars if your machine drops down hard on fps, and maybe reduce shadow quality, that also might help. I usually get around 60-80fps on my triples in 1440p. It's quite the same performance drop "racing AI vs racing online", that's been there with rFactor 2 (uses the same engine and physics). But honestly, those 60-80fps are quite consistent and very clean, I don't have any issue with micro freezes and drops in frametiming. And while there is no ranking system or full competition mode for single player to run a full season with ranking or in short a career mode... I'm not bothered by that, because AI is overall a good competitor on track. If you leave the aggression setting on standard 50%, it is a mixed bag, because AI will want to run simply through you in slower passages of the track, like you're not existing. But I put it on 39% (probably doesn't matter if 39 or 40, hahahaha) and now faster car classes are more cautious when overtaking and also door to door fights are more reasonable... AI doesn't hand positions over to you, but it won't kill you either as long as you are not acting stupid or too aggressive. But I really understand what Alex means, Single Player Drivers are not getting a full on experience here, that's absolutely correct.

That’s for watching mate👍 the issue with reducing car numbers or graphics quality on our triples is that it’s very bad for our content. To give that realistic look we need to have the fidelity as high as possible otherwise it just doesn’t look believable, so reducing the shadow quality etc isn’t really an option. In fact I had to reduce the draw distance on mirrors in the game files which I wasn’t happy about at all. But like I said for others who dont necessarily care for graphical fidelity then they’ll definitely have to turn down graphics to make the game playable in single player, and that’s definitely okay. I agree I found the AI really good in this game although sometimes they randomly crash on the straights which is weird lol, didn’t happen enough to make a big deal though. To be honest I’m enjoying this game so much that I think I’m going to upgrade my PC so that I can run everything on MAX for our onboard footage. Thanks again for your advice🙏

Do you find the button box keybinds don't work from race to race Alex? They are still mapped, but the next race they just don't work. Also, do you experience a duplication of button box mappings across both seperate button boxes? Example, if i use B30 on to top box then map the b30 from my lower box, they overlap and you end up doing both functions.

@alexkayracing it's a weird one. When I start another race, I have to go back to tye settings and trap the same buttons again. Just wondering if you had the same as I'm sure I have the same button box. Wondering if it's where I've got both plugged into a power USB hub. It's fine in all my other sims, just something weird going on here in LMU.

You can reduce the amount of visible cars. And pretty certain you can limit the ai as well.

Unfortunately you can’t limit the amount of AI in the game yet. Visible cars doesn’t change the issue in single as it’s related to the CPU/RAM controlling the AI’s actions (in multiplayer I can race in a full player grid with very high FPS). They will fix the issues eventually I’m sure, luckily I’m play mainly multiplayer

There's an option in the settings to limit the amount of cars viewable near you during races that helps improve your PC's performance, it might be what you're looking for.

Hey mate yes I’m using that, your PC however still needs the RAM and CPU to dictate the AI’s actions which is what’s power hungry at the moment. In multiplayer I have no issue with my graphics settings in a full 25 car grid because multiplayer doesn’t require much RAM/CPU, since the other players are in control of the cars actions so only your GPU is working hard in that scenario 👍

Thanks for watching mate, I feel that ams2 graphics are more embellished and exaggerated (they look damn pretty though) and I feel that LMU goes for a more photorealistic look. AMS2 still has better looking environmental visuals. When it comes to driving feel though LMU is absolutely superior to AMS2

@@YoastZilla hahaha AMS2 still has its variety of cars and a far superior single player, LMU will be restricted to WEC cars and tracks only. Think of it as the rfactor2 version of ACC

It’s to do with FOV mate, it’s a very common issue when driving the hypercars in a simulator even in iRacing, to see the right mirror properly often you need to zoom out a bit more than usual

Love the sounds, the detail of the hypercars, that cold tires are actually slippery, the tracks. This was like the game content wise I've been wanting for years, but after about 10 hours I just can't stand the edginess of the hypercars and that it's basically impossible to get the tires up to optimal temp even after several laps. I'm sure part of it is a skill issue, but when I can drive the Oreca and keep it on track no problem, yet I am constantly dying in the hypercars because of their edginess it is just a bit too extreme to me. I know I am not the fastest guy either, but I also know I'm not 5+ seconds off of RL race pace bad either. These cars are built for endurance races and I just find it hard to believe that they'd be this hard to drive. The peakiness of the tires and limit is just to fine of a line for me. Maybe it will change, but it seems a lot of people like it and S397 have gone for the "harder = more realistic approach" and I'm just not a fan of that.

Yeah they definitely are extremely hard to drive when it comes to keeping the tires in the range. I spoke with the devs about this and they said it’s part of the challenge of driving the hypercars, because in all tracks other than Le Mans they aren’t allowed to use tire blanks, the the tyres are ice cold. We’ll have to see how it turns out, I’m loving the LMP2 and GTE’s at the moment cos they just feel so good to drive

@@alexkayracing yeah I'm aware of the rule set and drivers have said driving the them on cold tires is challenging, but my issue is that even after 6+ laps the tires can still be ice cold at some tracks. The Toyota and Ferrari are probably the easiest to drive once their tires are up to temp, but their still not great, and their lack of grip in slower corners at tracks like Sebring is night and day from the Oreca. I mean the LMDhs are literally built on LMP2 chassis yet the Caddy is so skiddish and unforgiving you'd never know that it's chassis was built around the same rule set as the Oreca. That's where my issue with them is. Like I said I like that when the tires are cold they are tough to drive, because we've seen that be the case in real life. But if I get through 4, 5, 6+ laps and the tires are still well below their optimal temps that's where I have an issue with them and it's just led to me not having fun and putting the game down for now.

@@lplightportal I’ve got the tc at 10 here and brought brake bias a bit forward. The dash just doesn’t show the tc or abs information as it’s not fully compatible with LMU yet.

@@DustySticksyeah that’s a fair point mate. I agree on certain tracks it’s harder than others. For example on Fuji and Spa I found that after about 2 laps the tires are good and stay good. But then on portimao it felt like I just could not keep them in the window. I agree with you on the Cadillac too, it’s extremely hard to slow that car down without spinning the car, could also be a car setup issue. What I did find is that the Porsche was REALLY good and stable, give that one a try if you ever end up playing again.

It's rough... But when it's working it's brilliant. Offline is ok, but not for endurance racing offline. For 30 bucks it's got enough and is playable to a level worth the price. In a year it will be amazing. ACC was rough for a long time till final release and afterwards for over a year. So for a brand new early access game it's good. Surprised me really

the action infront of the car shouldnt be jumping up and down like it does. your eyes take out almost all of the movement. sure, the cockpit can move about with the bumps in the road and accelerating and braking of the car... but the cars, track and environment do not bounce around like this game in real life.

This Game is not so HW hungry... i run it on my 13700k+4080 Super ~ 220-250 Watts. Other Games need 350-450 Watts.. ! On Ultra settings by Hoyer. I hope they fix all the bugs... game is very nice.

Actually a review that understands what ‘early access means’ I’m enjoying the sim, for sure there’s issues but it’s a strong start all things considered, I think the fundamentals foundation is great and can’t wait to see how it improves over time!

Lol. The game was supposed to be released in full in December, then Feb 24 and then it suddenly got released as incomplete in early access. Don't be such a shill.

@@saffaboy2007 I look at it from an extremely unbiased point of view mate. The fact of the matter is that they are not charging full price for the game. $31USD is fairly in line with the usual cost of an early access title (maybe abit on the higher end of the scale). Whether they planned to release the game in full or in early access etc is irrelevant as timelines and schedules change all the time in this business. As long as they aren’t charging customers full price for an unfinished game then they aren’t doing anything wrong in my books👍

This is not an early access !, it s built on top of RF2 which has never been fixed ... I still would love to see it works without having to goes on forum find setting to copy paste in some file. Impossible to join a practice server without any feedback in the UI.... just no feedback at all ! So again same as RF2 even if I would have prefered it to be better. Only yellow blocks on tracks seems to not be part of this build. Some youtuber jokes about it as it is RF2.5 which is an honest review

Hey mate yeah that’s definitely true as all the files and even telemetry files use RF2 data (that’s why the dashboard I used in the race worked because it’s an RF2 dash). For me personally the menu’s have not been too much of an issue as I changed to window mode with vsync and it helped a lot with the menu lag. Let’s hope they keep improving the game in the future👍

most games are an evolution of a previous product. they don't need to make it from scratch

@@nuztuz903not many scratch built sims these days hey! Did they confirm that Rennsport was using the RF2 physics code (a washed down version apparently)
