Well aside from this being a shameless cash in on the topic without really adding anything constructive, and there already being ten videos better than this one on this topic, one in particular, here's why he left. As someone who knows his friends (Colossal, Pyro, etc.) what I've gathered is that he lost interest. It was never really about the money, and he didn't like making content, but just seeing his subcount grow and the views he was getting was very motivating, and in a way, intoxicating. Eventually when it all slowed down, he tried to stay interested but lost it. Now he makes money with crypto, and is doing pretty well for himself. There ya go, have a nice day.

2020 edit: I don't agree with this statement anymore, prepare yourselves for a bad and outdated comment I don't like Leafy's bullying or anything but you gotta admit; RU-vid back then was awesome because the drama was real and everyone knew who Leafy was. I wouldn't mind if Leafy came back and made videos like Pyro where he doesn't just bully people.

The drama between him and GradeAunderA and keemstar i think made people choose sides and which brought down his channel. Also, after a while I noticed that he was becoming a bit repetitive and he would take a while to get to the point of his video. He also had a LOT of people hating on him and putting curses. I still wonder how's he's keeping up nowadays though.

Muggy my friend is friends with some of leafys friends and they said that he's hoping to do something in December. That's all I really know. I've tried asking to get more info but they won't speak to me :/ Idk if he's starting a new channel or just changing the content on his main channel. But until then he's just gaming and moving around some places. Apparently his roommate moved out or something and he's looking for a place to stay, but that was a while back. So until December he's living "poor", saving his money and gaming, I think. I'll let you know if I hear anything else.
