League Player Reacts to Valorant Champions Opening Ceremony 2023 

It's kinda of a shame you didn't watch the end of the opening ceremony. They had the players come in and after they had a video with the players of both teams talking about what they were feeling and their experience which was quite emotional.

I loved including the creator part at the beginning. Acknowledging those who have communities that feed into professional esports. Imagine having a LoL opening where you have the performer do something similar with Sneaky, Meteos and Doublelift in the background over-reacting to it, and more streamers/cosplayers involved. What a way to include community that doesn’t just watch the esports.

the concept for Re-Ignition (the second song, a remix of Valorant's first OST "Ignition") performance is pretty cool actually, it's Defenders (Jazz, blue side) vs. Attackers (Emei, red side) and it shows off a lot of the Agents' skills in the game like a postplant/retake situation which the production team did an incredible job of mixing into the actual song for the performance! The black and white part at the end is what happens when the Spike actually explodes in game, along with the whole explosion going back to the middle of the Spike thing. IDK I JUST LOVE THE CONCEPT SO MUCH AND THE PD TEAM PULLED IT OFF SO WEEEEELLLLLLL

2021 had Zedd featuring Grabbitz with the song Die for you, a snippet of it was before the main anthem (ticking away) back when it was gray screen with the overview of LA, 2022 champions anthem was Ashnikko's Fire Again. This was first time in VCT that opening ceremony was "sponsored" with Mastercard, kinda taking inspiration from Worlds.

What was really cool in the second performance was the beat was the original agent select screen music

the first guy was live from the start and you can notice that but all the differences that there are within the music from the original. He was always live

I love that this is the first year it feels like they can rly go for it since Valorant became popular during quarantine and therefore they could not play in big stadiums full of ppl like this year. Yes there have been ppl there but the audiance have been limited and much smaller. We can only go up from here :)

The main thing for me that hit different was you watch the player introductions and an NA team was walking out into the finals and ended up winning at the end.

i would say the difference is on valorant the trophy itself hasnt been as important as the league one. thats why it was only there at the end for a second. I also feel like valorant is more player focus as there is good personalities on valorant you can sse when the players entry compared league where the players out of the game are kindnof boring

I love the fact that there is a genuine reaction from someone not entirely familiar with Valorant at the Ignition remix. I find that Twitch chats that have CS/League players just dismiss the whole thing and call it cringe, when it's a genuinely chilling opening ceremony. Riot really put effort into this, and it's just so sad to see people not care.

the Val opening ceremony was good, not as good as some of the league ones. got me hype for worlds tho
