Idk how people forgot Engage was being developed during the pandemic, plus Echoes was done by a completely different studio as well. That's been plenty of time, and in fact means the game has had one extra year of fine tuning unlike Engage. I think switch 2 for fe4 would be best outcome however, a brand new fire emblem game would be better of course. A final send off to switch for fe4 wouldn't be bad either, just not good for sales probably. Either way I'm excited to play it and hope it's done justice.
@@therealjaystone2344 With Nintendos track record? I'm unsure if they will even pursue backwards compatibility. It would be nice, but they haven't done anything significant with it since the Wii and they discontinued the white Wii (that played gamecube games) early screwing people over who want to continue to play them in the future. Couple that with Nintendo barley releasing anything of note on their Online services with a ridiculous bullshit price. I kind have lost my faith in Nintendo the pasts few years, but that's just me. I'm just scared for TTYD. I wanted a remake of that game FOR YEARS and to know it might be one of the last games released on the switch worries me because that game needs to be experienced. It would have been better for it too if the Switch 2 opened with TTYD.
My biggest concern is the localization. If it's the same localizers as Engage they absolutely will throw out the script and just put whatever fanfiction they want in it's place which would ruin FE4.

I'm more interested in how the combat will look. Engage's combat animations are so good that I think it'll be hard for IS to top that. Also, Sigurd's English VA in Engage for the potential FE4 Remake please?
Remember Engage was Iron19 and Houses 17. The big problem for this leak though is that if you looked closely at the second Princess Peach trailer you can see a horse and shuriken symbol.
While purists gonna purist, I'll remind all the other remakes have introduced original characters and, in New Mystery's case, brought other characters from the same setting that weren't present originally. That makes the chance of Thraccia characters, like Sara or Saias, appearing extremely likely.
I don't mind adding stuff like a Rescue Mechanic to help Foot Units move faster across the maps cause especially fuck that Forest Map in Chapter 2. I do wonder how Pursuit can be handled as I can see why it is there but also why an arbitrary skill that gimps most units than not would be bad game design.
Some changes are naturally expected. But balancing what to add and what to stay loyal to will be difficult. for example. never liked the addition of the avatar in fe12 but at the same time. it's a shame that Echoes stayed too loyal to gaiden's maps
@@makohidari4723 Yeah. Gaiden had some very bland maps and necessitated the abuse of the summons spells with how much enemies there are. That and some gimmicks do hurt with Jheda being struck only every 4 turns or something that would get old quick. Genealogy's issue is the footlocked units are next to useless compared to mounted units with how big the maps are and the lack of Rescue hurts since it would not be a thing till Thracia. Plus Pursuit and how it locks doubling I feel 50/50 on. The way Critical Hits worked in Jugdral really lent to limiting units like Noish by not allowing them Pursuit and Arden is an Armor Knight so he needs the ring to use. But who does or doesn't get Pursuit I feel is a bit arbitrary at times.
I think it'd be awesome if an FE4 remake came out as a launch title for the next Nintendo system. That gives it the best chance possible to sell well. I also hope and pray it's in the art style of Echoes cause just IMAGINE 😭😭😭😭😭😭
I do think a GotHW remake is in the works, but hard to guess when it'll turn up. I’m mostly worried about narrative changes. Gonna suck if English localizers cut out or lighten the more disturbing parts of the story (incest, loptyr cult). The localization of Engage doesn't instill a lot of confidence with their involvement. In addition, I pray the creators not meddle with Ishtar's existing character. Do not make her redeemable or a secret good person, that misses the entire point.
Why do all of you want incest so bad? Is it integral to the plot? Cause otherwise what's wrong with cutting it, it's fucked up and doesn't need to really be in games. At least not a trpg

Genealogy is the first FE game I beat (as I paused in the middle of Awakening to Marathon the FE games). Currently nearing the end of Radiant Dawn and started Shadow Dragon. If I could end my marathon on a Genealogy remake would be poetic.
Mangs, I finished Andaron Saga yesterday. You and your team made an excellent hack! I think it struck a great balance of being “excitingly challenging” instead of just being hard because it’s a fan made game, as I’ve seen so many hacks do over the years. Thanks for giving me a great experience and also reigniting my desire to make my own! (I have a story I’d like to put in Fire Emblem, just figuring out FEBuilder now…)
If you're asking about my fear, that is localization. We already have many examples of localizators thinking that they know better and cutting away "problematic" dialogues or adding funnys(Fates "..." support or Alm's dozen puns while exploring background, for example) or smth. Yeah, mostly of it was in supports but now main plot is "problematic" and I hope QC of translation will be strict.
C'mon, that only happened once in Fates. Three Houses and Engage localizations are just fine. Besides, it is not about "QC being strict", it is about the localization principle they want to use. If they want to mess up and change a load ton of shit so it can be rated for Everyone (that may happen indeed), they will do so regardless of QC, or AI or whatever. The higher-ups are the ones who will truly decide how localization should proceed.
I mean it isnt always bad, sometimes they do actually change things for the better, or they add something thats just different than the japanese script. not bad necessarily but different. But sometimes they do add or remove things frustratingly. which they probably will do that. The big problem with modern gaming is that companies want their games to appeal to as many people as possible, to sell as many games as possible. So do expect some funny things from the original to be removed, but honestly I cant even remember any quotes from that game that could even be considered mildly offensive. so Im sure the script will be fine

They are just people doing what they are being told to and barely make big decisions for how localization should go. If some higher-up decides that people talking about infanticide (I think that happens in FE4, right?) is too much to get that T(teen) ESRB rating Fire Emblem loves to get for the Western audience, then they will have to tone down the localization whether we like or not.

The thing with engage and youtube is the majority of the big FE tubers (yourself included) played the first time on hard mode. Now this is going to sound a bit elitist but I think that was a horrible mistake. Big fe tubers super familiar with the series mostly steamrolling a game on not the hardest difficulty, this then leads to the gameplay being pretty much a snooze and more reason to focus on the lackluster story. If all the main youtubers are saying wow this game is bad, its no surprise that the viewers in turn will take that opinion and not want to watch content related to it. Who wants to watch stuff that all the main names are slagging off after all. Also there will be a fe4 avatar (tm) calling it now lmao
Engage good. Localisation bad. And I played It in Italian so there are 2 languages in between my translation (JAP and ENG). At least 3h was translated directly from JAP for the Italian audience (don't ask me why, but I am pretty Happy about It)
I think that if the Switch FE4 remake is real then it has to release in a few months because it's very likely that Nintendo will announce a new console this year meaning that they'll likely want to wrap up development on any remaining Switch games and focus on the new console. Edit: As for FE remakes not doing well historically I think that that may have had to do with what games were being remade (FE1, FE2, FE3). The original FE4 was a major jump for the franchise (in large part thanks to being the first FE game on the Super Famicom) and I would argue that with its castle and support systems it might be more compatible with the mechanics from modern FE games. Subjectively I also always felt that FE4 was a lot more popular among the western audience than other Japan-only FE games (with the possible exception of FE6 simply because it's a sequel to the first FE game released in the west). The quality of the remakes themselves also matters, I personally was always off put by the graphical style of FE11.
I agree with Mangs on the fear of an avatar character. It is the same concern I have, and I joined the Fire Emblem fandom when Three Houses was considered new. I believe that an avatar will hurt the story, especially if they keep the S support system. Imagine being able to marry Sigurd and completely screwing up the story. Plus Oifey is a king. Besides, FE4 has some great characters, we don't need OCs to add to the mix.
Even if there was an avatar there's no chance they would let you marry Sigurd since no one else can and they would have to massively rearrange the plot and lore. Why would they bother?
Based on how engage performed and how divisive it was, I expect that if the remake happens, it will try to do the opposite. Be as faithful and conservative as possible when it comes to experimentation. Maybe some QOL changes here and there, graphics and artstyle and that's it. At least I wish they do that, an engage treatment for Genealogy would break my heart.
Yeah. I already have burnt out my trust on Square,Atlus and others with how they almost if not outright feel ashamed of their legacy. Final Fantasy VII Remake/Rebirth is trying to add shit no one really asked for and went off the rails more than not and fell off quick outside of the R34 sphere. Persona 3 Reloaded is being released soon next month and I don't trust Atlus today to deliver especially with past Remasters not even beig bare bones in quality as well as Reloaded changing and taking too many liberties to where it doesn't feel like the same game. Add that with Shoji Meguro going freelance back in the 2020s earlier and him not being a part of Reloaded's OST. Yeah. I don't trust most company's to deliver.

I actually liked the story beats of The Answer and only had issues with the gameplay aspects like No Compendium that gimps the Persona Builds added with the SEES members slacking due to a lack of training. Fes is the best version of 3 and I am pretty confident it will remain such. Persona 3 Portable was only kept up due to FeMC being a thing as I didn't bother playing as Makoto in Portable as I already played Persona 3 various times with 2 for Vanilla and 1 I almost completed for Fes. I would have beaten the game if Orpheus Telos was not a pain to fuse. Would have loved either Manual Skill Inheritance or Skill Cards to be the only thing added which Persona 4 Golden has proven that is all that is needed. Plus I prefer the old SEES armbands and old VAs. We ALL know they nuked the old cast mainly due to KickVic BS and sadly Karen Strausman also got shit due to Covid where she said stuff against the narrative. Fuck.....I miss Tara Platt as Mitsuru and I don't give a shit about Allegra Clark. She has all the call signs of the localizers you clearly don't hate enough.

Echoes came out after two months after the Switch launched. Also, Nintendo is releasing mostly remakes this year. Mario vs DK, Luigis mansion 2 and TTYD are the big games coming this year.
Nah, it's very likely actually, cuz it was found in Engage's internal code, the name of the game is "Iron19" which is something all mainline (not spin-off) games get as code name, with 3H being "Iron17" it leaves 'Iron18' as very likely being another game, probably the FE4 Remake since it's been rumored for a few years now, it's not a matter of if, it's when they're going to release it.
@@ChadVigilante Fair enough, I think it's very likely we'll see it this year because of all of the recent remakes/remasters Nintendo has been putting out. And for the localization being terrible, yeah, it sucks, but thankfully fan-translation and emulation on Switch will easily fix that, so at least there's that.
There is one feature that I think would be best suited for a Genealogy Remake: the Orders system from the Tellius games. If this is the only new feature they add in a Genealogy remake, it will greatly improve the quality of life with no real downsides.
Doesn't it allow you to move large groups without having to select each individual unit? The Fates and Awakening games have it, but the AI is very direct with their given orders. They'll throw themselves straight at the nearest enemy and not the best group of foes to attack.
Another feature I think maybe best suit for the game is the ability allow foot unit to catch up with mounted unit. Maybe give Ethlyn a rescue staff early game.
If the leaks are true, I'll be one of the first to pre-order it! While I am a bit cautious after Engage, a remake of a popular game as well as my love for Three Houses more than makes up for it!
Echoes SoV is my favorite of the 3DS titles and it left me convinced that future remakes in the series could be done properly. All in favor of a Genealogy remake if it is real.
At least the non-FE part of the leak doesn't sound too implausible. They aren't going to replace Oifey Mangs. Chris didn't replace Jagen in FE12, and Jagen wasn't even playable there. I can't think of a single character getting replaced wholesale like that in the past. Who goes around thinking that releasing a remake on a new console is a good idea? Has that ever worked out well? Backwards compatibility isn't off the table, so that could drastically improve sales. They could also do a Twilight Princess/Breath of the Wild/Persona 5 and do a cross gen release too. Fire Emblem's popularity might have fallen off a bit, but I wouldn't say it has flatlined. If Fire Emblem is flatlined, then Xenoblade and Paper Mario are 6 feet under. The only time those latter series got above the Fire Emblem calm period is during new game releases. Even comparing new game releases against one another Xenoblade 2 only narrowly edges out Awakening and Engage, and that is likely due to the Switch launch window hype.
Well Mangs, i think it highly likely that this game will come out on the switch, for the simple reason that as you said its been in development for a long time. if that's true, then it doesn't make sense to me that it would be coming for a console that hasn't even been released.

i sincerely hope the fe4 remake looks similar to awakening/fates/echoes but more QoL changes. imo three houses, engage, and warriors graphics dont do it for me. i love the sprites and character sheets of the ds-3ds era FE. big hope!!!
Engage did pretty well. It's just the the majority of people who played 3 Houses will first automatically assume every future fe game will follow the same expects and the high expectations that made the game successful
As a fan of Kaga Emblem, I honestly hope FE4 isn’t getting remade solely for its own good, same with 5. We know damn well that the numerous dark mature themes would be conveniently absent or at the very least HEAVILY lampshaded.

If you go to the 2004-present full chart you'll see that the lowest point was in 10.2012 at 10% of its peak vs the current 11%. For overall web searches (probably more relevant than just youtube) it's 7% vs 14% , which is an odd and interesting difference.
If it was up to me, I'd kind of make 2 remakes. One that is the exact same game, but with updated pixel graphics, a more modern less clunky interface, bug fixes, that sort of thing. And the other being a game that tells the same story but is made from the ground up as a modern Fire Emblem. Keep a lot of the underlying gameplay ideas, like using all of your units, have huge maps some of the time but add smaller maps in between to break it up. Flesh out the story with support conversations and cutscenes. Maybe change it around so you end up with all the holy weapons in the end, it always seemed thematically weird that you don't.
If the remake gets announced, I'm almost certain the Jugdral cast will become my favorite cast of characters EVER. Supports would add soooo much. I wouldn't mind if Oifaye becomes playable in the first generation, JUST DON'T MAKE HIM THE AVATAR. Lemme choose his class so i can make him anything i want, and keep his place in the story the same
I hope they try and stay faithful to the OG story (really skeptical), and also add rescue, it would help infantry and armor knights a lot when keeping up with cavalry. FE4 is great, and the OST is pretty good too. Would love to hear Doors of Destiny or Versus Julius in the remake. (Assuming all of that isn't copium anyway)
If FE4 does well it means we might get an FE5 remake too and GOD I'd love an FE5 remake. 5 is so unique I'd love to play it on modern hardware and with an official translation that isnt buggy as hell
I'm super skeptical of what an FE5 remake would actually look like. A lot of the uniqueness would be removed due to "quality of life improvements" (for instance 1% min/99% max hit rules if you like the chaos of Thracia, but is actively going to turn off a ton of players with the inevitable feelbad moments)
Given how Engage just kinda got chucked out there... FE4 Remake being shown next month in a Direct would not surprise me. With all the leaks we've seen, I think the FE4 remake is a matter of when, not if.
I've got no idea what to expect. But I was definitely underwhelmed in strange and indescribable ways by Engage. While I may likely enjoy revisiting it later on, I really want to experience a new Fire Emblem first (whatever it may be) that just does something different.
I'm Scared about the potential of the remake. FE4 is my Game of all time and I think the remake is going to censor/hide a lot. I dom't mind if they revamp some aspects, but I do think FE4 had an amazing base for a unique SRPG experience. Also the Leaks have been debunked as there were Banners of Princess Peach: Showtime that showed Cowgirl Peach and Ninja Peach, so someone predicting this out of the blue was not hard at all.
Stuff like the child hunts and the old Medieval Incest I would be surprised they even keep or allude to. Then again,I know some parts of the Xenoblade Fandom who demand Nia outright say Mio is her daughter despite those that pay attention and put 2 and 2 together can figure it out. So the fact that most folks are illiterate these days I hope is enough to let it slide. It is not like the mentions of the Child Hunts go into certain details akin to logs of a certain Island in what went on there. I would be doubly surprised if there is mention of Loptyrian Tunnels.
As strange as it sounds, i think oversatuation is actually becoming a problem for the franchise, and largely because of Heros and other spinoff games like the Warriors games... It used to be that getting a new Fire Emblem experience was years in the future after the last release, so you got a chance to miss the franchise. But with small and big spinoffs constantly popping up in the last 10 years or so, and Heros being a mobile title with constant updates and new content, you are never starved of Fire Emblem for very long, unless you only care about the main series games, which it seems like only a small part of the community actually does... So i honestly think the only way for the main series to get the old popularity back, would be for them to drastically reduce how many spinoffs and mobile content we get, so we have time to hope for a new main title again. But they won't do that, as more content makes them more money, even if it's at the expence of the core series of games
This isn't very accurate. In the 2000s FE releases were only a year or two apart. Sacred Stones and Path of Radiance both released in 2005 in NA and Europe. We didn't get New Mystery so that felt like a gap, but in Japan SD released 2 years before NM and then Awakening was 2 years after NM. Even that 4 year gap we had between SD and Awakening is very similar to the 3 1/2 year gap between Three Houses and Engage, with only Three Hopes in between. Heroes might make it feel like FE is always around, but the rate of other FE releases has not changed much. Just don't play Heroes if you want to "miss" the franchise.
It may be cope, but honestly im excited at the prospect. Fe4 is a game I know a decent amount about but have unfortunately never played myself. While I do plan on playing the original at some point, a remake could be absolutely stellar. Knowing modern IS, I feel it's very possible they will tone down parts of it (I hope they dont) Regardless, I choose to be hopeful and excited, nothing wrong with that even if it doesn't happen it was something to look forward to and be happy about in the mean time.
I am looking forward to (hopefully) an eventual remake of FE 4 and 5. Most of us normies aren't willing to back to such old systems and graphics to experience the stories. Without the remakes I would have never gotten to experience the games, characters and stories of FE 1, 2 and 3, so I would definetely like to play remakes for the only other "old" FE games -- since I started (probably like many others) with the GBA games. On that note, I wonder if we'll eventually get a remake for those too in 10-15 years or so, if the franchise is still around. I re-play the games maybe once a year or so, so to me they still hold up pretty well, so I might feel a bit conflicted about seeing remakes. Perhaps that's how fans of all the old games felt as well.
I also the way i think to do this remake. Keep the story as is. But modernize the gameplay and systems. Releasing it as its gameplay was on the snes will push away even more potential players.
It’s a game that is heavily rumored to already have been completed for some time and the Switch 2 is rumored to be backwards compatible. It’ll release before the new console as a quick way to get $ for the fiscal quarter. Don’t know about presentation but I would love it if it was done in the Octopath graphical engine
Classic Fire Emblem fans always have something to nitpick about modern Fire Emblem games, and rightfully so. But all I see is that every new Fire Emblem game (including the Warriors games) injects new ideas into the franchise and takes them out for a spin. These ideas don't always work, or maybe they have potential and they're not always fleshed out properly, but at least the developers are trying new things. If we bring in older games and not only give them a fresh coat of paint but also a brand new game engine that is paired up with the game structure of a classic game, there's much to love there (please refer to Shadows Of Valentia for a great example). Honestly, since I first came in to Fire Emblem with Three Houses (well, technically Fire Emblem Heroes and THEN Three Houses), I had already missed out on almost 30 years of history of this franchise when I was first introduced to the series. I've been piecing it all together little by little and hunting down the classics one by one, but it often involves archeological work of some kind, and that can get pretty exhausting. It's always nice when you can just turn on a Nintendo Online or Nintendo eShop and find an official, fully translated, technologically updated version of a classic game. If this game comes out, I'm just hoping it'll sell well and bring in more people into Fire Emblem, 'cause that'll just keep the series going, which potentially means more translations and re-releases of classic games (I've never played the Tellius games, so I wouldn't mind seeing that).
Mangs, what if the "Switch 2" is backwards compatible with Switch games and FE4 remake can be played on both Switch and Switch 2 but may not get a Switch 2 version. What are your thoughts on that, would that still be bad or serviceable for a remake?
It would be great for the FE4 remake. Switch owners would buy it as one of the last great games on the Switch 1 while Switch 2 owners would buy it as the system’s de facto FE game until the Switch 2 gets its own original game in the series.
remake is a safe bet. I remember back for pokemon X and Y there was tons of gen 3 references. No way! Gen 3 remakes were right after! shocker! Likewise, Sigurd was very intentionally featured in Engage.
If the remake comes out, I'd love to use the child units, I like making stories in these games, and child units are one of the funniest things to play with in that regard.
I'm not that worried about the timing. Switch 2 will probably also be an hybrid console, Nintendo would be crazy to abandon the handheld market since they control it, so Switch games may be compatible on switch 2. FE4 may really well be playable on Switch. Remember the discussion around 3Houses? It was mostly because of the story and settings. 2 things Engage lacks. Engage had way better gameplay, but this alone does not create that much buzz, there's plenty of strategy game out her. FE4 is basically Game of Thrones, if the presentation is good and that moment in chapter 5 is shocking, I'm sure it will create more discussion then Engage. My biggest fear is the same as yours, replacing putting an avatar or even replacing Oifey would kill all of my hype, no question.
I feel like the Switch 2 is going to probably be similar to the New 3DS. and besides prior to the switch was the Wii U so it'll last a few more years until an actual new console appears and not a revision

I know i'm almost a month late, but i wish to partake on this debate. First of all, Genealogy having mature themes is going to hinder the game's success by giving it a M rating? What an ignorant statement! While it is true that Genealogy's themes are really dark and brutal, so were those of Echoes and other games. Child murder? Desaix literally ordered Conrad, Celica, and any other kid King Lima II had dead, out of which only Celica and Conrad survived. Rape? If not for Jesse, Silque would have been raped, and if not for Celica's party, Est would have been raped too; additionally, Slayde was going to rape Gray's sisters if not for Mycen, and it is barely visible, but if you pay attention to that cutscene where Rudolf assaults Mila's temple, you can see some Rigelian soldiers grabbing the nuns; in New Mystery of the Emblem, Malicia's grandmother clearly says what happens to the pretty maidens in Grust (spoiler, Lang kept them to himself and raped them). Cults being way to dark? Lmao do I have to remind you all of the brutal attrocities the Duma Faithful did? Only incest remains (I really can't think of an incestual relationship in Echoes), but even so, Ephraim's and Eirika's relationship is way too weird, and Fates had you straight up marrying your step siblings and possibly your cousin in addition to ACTUAL COUSINS in both Fates and Awakening (Midori, Asugi, Owain, and Lucina) being able to marry. So no, incest isn't a problem either. Second, release date. If the 3ds era is anything we can guide ourselves by, then the Genealogy remake is launching this very year. Awakening launched in 2012, Fates in 2016, and Echoes on 2017. In other words, Fates released four years after Awakening, and Echoes released a year later. Applied to the Switch, we got Three Houses on 2019, and Engayge (sorry, I can't take that game seriously) on 2023; do you see what I mean? Third and last, gameplay changes. I have tried Genealogy, and couldn't get pass the Silessia chapter due to how tedious the game is and to how long maps are (I do like them being big, but in this game they were utterly annoying). And seriously, double attacks being a skill? Really? Who the hell thought that was a good idea? I wouldn't mind if some core aspects of the gameplay are cuttet down for the sake of enjoyness (is that even a word?). Sorry if this paragraph was way too long, but it had to be said.
I hope it happens in May, also, the last few years of a Nintendo system's lifespans have recently consisted of remakes and remastering. Plus, the Nintendo Switch might still have some support and price drops to go with getting ready for next gen hardware. Also, FE4 I have changed up my FE games ranked from time to time. I often switch out numbers 2 and 3, 4 and 5, 7 and 8, 9 and 10, 11 and 12, 14 and 15, ect. But now, FE4 is my 2nd favorite FE game next to Three Houses being my very favorite. It used to be my 3rd and Binding Blade was my 2nd. And FE4 and FE6 were my two favorites before Three Houses came out. But I can imagine a remake that has all the upgraded support conversations, upgraded activities to do at the castles, and the ability to trade items on the map as opposed to having to sell and rebuy items would be huge buffs. Hard to tell of merging the money mechanics might ruin the experience or upgrade it though. And another thing to worry about is whether or not thieves might become useless if it happens. But I see it has potential to be my new very favorite if they nail all the good parts right. I also hope the Holy Blood weapons don't get nerfed, but they probably will a bit. I'm also worried if a class change system might also ruin experiences. I do hope that negative attack speed and negative evasion returns for the speedy mounted swordsman to be dodge tanking and doubling. But do keep the clever AI mechanic and perhaps add Hard and Maddening difficulty settings. Also I think they may have Battle Saves from Radiant Dawn make a come back; fix the if you save over the main file, you cannot restart chapter issue. Casual Mode is fine to have as an option, but something similar to Divine Pulse or Mila's Turn Wheel or Draconic Time Crystal might also ruin the experience/challenge unless higher difficulties do something about it. Anyway, I'd be excited for it and hope it comes out in May.
I would love to see this game remade if the leaks are true. However, with the recent game, I have my doubts. The way I thought about fe4 would be to include thracia as a separate dlc game kinda like how xenoblade chronicles 2 was established with its dlc prequel story. This would mean you would get both fe4 and fe5 as a whole to tell the story of judgrals world.
I think it makes sense expecting a remake soon. With the release of unicorn overlord they're going to try to use the vibe. Also it would be the first FE remake on a big console like switch, i think it would be a success for the franchise before saying adieu to the switch
With the way NoA ruined an already neutered in Japan Engage, there’s *no* way FE4’s content would ever work with their attitude. Also remember that FE games at the start of a system’s life haven’t done too hot either (Radiant Dawn) As for the time between announce and release: Nintendo stopped doing long hype windows after Twilight Princess and Brawl got massive ones and they did not pay off in their final reception. These days, when they announce games over a year before release it’s indicative of development not going well (Prime 4) or part of hyping a new console
Hate to be that guy, but the 'leaked' games are all pretty safe guesses that have been guessed for many years now, also the Princess Peach Ninja/Cowgirl guess was not hard to make, considering in one of the trailers you can see a Ninja and 'Western' icon, so it's not that difficult to assume those two things would be in the game. That said, you gotta stop worrying about FE sales imo, I understand you're a content creator so numbers and popularity matters a lot because that's how you make money lol, but FE doesn't live or die because *one* game performs poorly or greatly, it's still a small series especially by Nintendo's IP standard, but it's nowhere near a niche series like it was 20 years ago. Even Engage, that gets so much flack, sold a decent amount for a game that got near-zero marketing, it's really not that deep, just be a little less cynical. Personally, I really hope Switch 2 will be backwards compatable, that way the last games released for Switch will not be locked away to the base Switch only.
At worst it could be like Metroid and even WORSE is that it could be F-Zero. And if you want to rub salt on the wound,try Star Fox........actually,maybe Mangs has some good reason to be worried.

F-Zero and Star Fox haven't gotten an original game in decades, while Fire Emblem gets a new game once every 3 (4, at worst) years, which is on par with most Nintendo's IPs excluding Pokémon & Mario (Althrough it's a bit of a different case) Metroid itself has been slowly but surely regaining it's spot, and having sales similar to your average FE game of the past few years, so really, it's fine lol
If the guy who did Shadows of Valentina does 4, itll be fine. That game only had like one writing hiccup and was extremely faithful. Might have to update the game to make it more modern though. Old FE games just wont keep a modern player imo. Not everything added to modern games is bad. No way we're getting Hidari as an artist for FE4 though. That guy is hella booked, sadly. If they managed to get him, I'd be overjoyed though. It being the first game for the new console could be a bad thing. It could be a 3H situation where it looks like dogshit.
I'm wondering if they got in touch with Shouzo Kaga for that one AND/OR him returning to his beloved franchise in some shape or form because of how important FE4 is to him.

As much as I want the remake for FE4 I would rather have it on the next system so that it breaks the sales curse of releasing at the end of a system life. If it comes out in the first year of the new system with lots of marketing it could bring in lots of people like Three Houses did.

fire emblem is fine i'm sure engage as the game probably had meh moments but the amount of hype or fan popularity for feh speaks other wise. december 2023 feh banner pushed high sales i believe it was #4 on apps for grossing. partially due to the winter banner being yunaka, edelgard, dmiitri, and....... byleth (M)
If the game does release with the switch 2 in mind i hope they still release it for the og switch. Consoles are too expensive in my country to get a new one on its first year
Since I’m pretty sure they’d screw the game up with a remake, I’d rather they just give us FE4 officially translated like they did with the Famicom version of FE1.
Honestly, repeating the FE1 situration would be pretty sh*t. US only(so no EU-languages) limited time release with Wiiu darkening filter, rather obvious imperfections that won't be patched and also unmoddable for good measure.
Just like with Three Houses and Engage before it. If a trailer drops for the Holy War remake I will remain "cautiously optimistic," which is the tone I have permanently set for myself every time a FE trailer looks iffy to me.
The switch is a best seller console, even if the game is released at the end of it's lifespan the remake will get better sales on it than on a new console

Also don’t worry about copium, I’ve got my own copium with F-Zero 99, just like with Fire Emblem, F-Zero also had Satellaview content such as new machines and tracks that are lost to time and are basically lost media, Nintendo could make that content no longer “being lost media” by adding it to F-Zero 99 and show that they care about it and continue to support the game.
