This video is all about Tire Pressure Monitor Systems or TPMS! In this video I will be teaching you what TPMS is, how it works in your vehicle (Direct and Indirect methods of communicating with your car), Basic use of TPMS scan tools, how to replace a TPMS sensor, how to remove a tire on a wheel with TPMS sensors (where to break the bead, where to place the valve stem), and much more!
This is the fifth video in a new series of videos coming out so you can be an expert on everything tires! Quit kicking tires and get to know more about them bruh!
There is no paid sponsorship from recommending these products, just the ones I use in my shop on a daily basis. What me to review or try out your product? Let me know.
This is another episode of a brand new series on how to become a GEARHEAD! If you have ever wondered how people know so much about cars and are absolutely crazy about anything with a motor, then this is a great series for you. This is geared towards people that have no knowledge of cars but want to learn; however, the content in my videos does try to make solid connections between theory and practical applications so even seasoned gearheads will find the info useful.
So share the channel with friends that love cars, trucks, motorcycles, scooters, and anything else that goes Vroom Vroom!!! This channel is all about helping people learn how to fix their own cars, save their money, and finding a passion for working with their hands!
If you have any questions about tires or the new series, please feel free to comment and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Time me....

Sweet video! I think you should make a series about fixing things with minimal tools, lots of people dont have the money to afford all the sweet tools you have! Im sure if you started making videos about repairing vehicles and other stuff, you'd get a lot more people checking out your channel!

Yeah, I hear ya. Ya gotta remember though, the theory and tips and tricks are all free. For most of these videos I am trying to teach people as much as possible about the topics and show industry standard practices. I realize that not everyone has a tire changer and $1,000 tpms scan tool but this video did show what tpms is, how it works, how to diagnose (dash lights), whether or not you have tpms, what vehicles have tpms, where to break tire beads to prevent tpms sensor damage, how vehicles need a relearn process (free to google), and that 30 to 40 percent of the vehicles don't require a tpms scan tool. All of this require no money at all, free theory for everyone. All of this is what a mechanic has to know and why they are charging so much for the job. Now as for lack of tire changers, there are a couple methods that people at home can break their tire beads for free so they can change valve stems/tpms sensors (just haven't made the video yet...coming soon and I'll drop your name in the video 😊). The tpms scan tool is required for certain cars, you just have to look up the process for your car and whether your vehicle needs it. I'm finding many cars don't actually require it. I am sure that this tech tool will also get cheaper in the future (more like $150 or even a smart phone app later). Thanks for the suggestion on making videos about fixing things for free or cheap for home diyers. I get it and this channel is definitely for the home diyer who wants to learn how to repair vehicles, weld, and make cool stuff all while saving money. Lately it feels like I can't get my content out fast enough but I am focusing on making quality videos that are more informative and in depth to make the theory stick ( hopefully entertaining too). It has always been my pet peeve watching car shows or youtube videos where people fix/make stuff but they skip stuff and you don't learn how to do it. Thanks for your comment and keep an eye out for your name in a future video! Cheers!

How much is the TPMS removing and installing kit?
@wayofthewrench
@wayofthewrench Год назад
I don't remember exactly but a basic tpms kit is about $75 USD and a full kit might run $150-200 USD. Thanks for the watch!

Is it possible to know the name of kit and where it can be found

I don't have it in front of me but I got it from my local Lordco auto parts store. The most important tool is the inch pounds torque wrench so you don't over tighten the new tpms sensor. Your local auto parts store will have these as well as Amazon. Cheers!

lol...me too. Sometimes I wonder how people couldn't be but I'm finding more and more students these days that just don't have experience with cars let alone basic tools. I like to think my main job is just to get these guys excited about tech and then their interest keeps them going. Knowledge is power!!!!!

Few people are aware that Tire Pressure Sensors have batteries with a limited lifespan.
@wayofthewrench
@wayofthewrench 2 года назад
Yeah that's true, there is a lot to know about cars. Especially for non tech people. The other thing to think about is when a tpms sensor goes bad due to battery, the other 3 are around the corner so it's not a bad idea to change all of them. Thanks for the watch!
