Well everybody, grammar hero is in fact ...a Hero. I took my original ASVAB 8-9 years ago. I spent 3-4 months watching these videos and I just retook the asvab yesterday. Went from a 43 to a 78!!!! In all my subtests I tripled my scores. I can’t explain how good it feels. Keep doing the lords work !!!!
Do u think I’ll pass just watching the videos? Cause I’m literally the slowest person in math and I take it next week Monday (it’s currently Monday tho)
Its weird, its like the education system needs a serious "reconstruction". Either that or I was too young and full of energy to be sitting behind a desk trying to soak in all this information, now in my 20's, I am able to sit calm and learn
@@BudgetGainsByJJ same here I spent a good part of my life in school I graduated back in 19 and I just feel sooo stupid because I learned all this in school but I never really paid the best attention nor really understood a lot i tried my best to learn I wasn’t a goofball in school I really wanted to know these things but everyone around me started doing this stuff at a much early age like middle school and I never went to middle school, I started math at a sort of late age, reason why is causes I didn’t want to keep trying if I didn’t know the answer math has been my number one enemy all my life I hate that I don’t know how to do it and there people younger than me that just zoom through it and here I am now trying to join the army and really trying to pursue my career and go further in life.
@@aggressivesewerpipe6290 I finished school back in 2011. I was like you, not a goofball, but I just didn't give a shit at the end, but I tried multiple times to study and always failed tremendously and teachers didn't give a damn about talking me through maybe some "study skills and strategies" to help you learn more efficiently and effectively. So far I found from life experience, "success to learning is repetition"... the more you watch these videos and even keep attempting the exact same question over and over again, sooner or later your subconscious mind will respond (like tieing your shoes, over and over and over again and eventually you mastered it) same has to be applied with learning this stuff and remember failing a question isn't really "failing" but learning where you went wrong. Also something my teachers never taught me and it is very underated, your work ethic and structure. Suit the best time of day to study when your brain feels fresh and make it the new norm.
Your vids are so helpful. You make it understand in a simple way. I'm taking the asvab on the 16th of feb and word problems, percentages really intimidate me on the test and I end up doing bad on the asvab. I'm glad I found your videos.
I'm using these videos and the McGraw Hill textbook from the library to study. Also a free app on my phone to just use when I'm waiting/can't access the textbook or laptop videos. Taking the ASVAB in 2 weeks!
You're welcome! When you are taught fractions in 4th grade, they teach the topic over the course of weeks. Since most of my viewers are adults, they benefit from seeing everything you need to know in one video! In other words, I condensed a month or more of elementary school into a 30 minute video!
Studying your work for almost 3 months now. I will probably take the Asvab in a couple months so lets see what score I get after studying like 5 days a week 6 hours a day.
this helps so much! i bought the AFQT asvab for dummies book, but your explanations are so much more easy to follow and understand. Thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos, you are helping so many people and I would even recommend these videos to people that are having a hard time learning basic math stuff, like myself. :)
I have struggled with Math All My Life. Recently I have watched a wide variety of videos to overcome me phobia. This video is excellent and very helpful. As you noted, Math "in person" or online never provides enough practice problems even though they all say practice problems are best way to learn math. I've always been frustrated with lack of practice problems that show the work and the answer to reinforce the lessons learned. I have subscribed and will be watching more of your videos and point others to them!
I think one of the benefits of this video is that I cover almost everything about fractions all at once. In other words, if you work your way through this video from start to finish, you can really connect all of the concepts together. I'm glad this video was helpful and thanks for subscribing!
thank you so much. ive watch like 6 of your videos. im taking my TABE test tomorrow (i know this is for ASVAB but fractions are on the TABE also) and youve helped me so much. i feel confident about this math stuff i havent seen in years. you definitely helped refresh my memory.
Retaking the asvab in October I been doing. 1 hour of studying every day someone recommended me to your channel and so far it's really helping me understand the math section of the asvab hopefully I can finally pass now! My main struggle in math is fractions, and percentage problems you explain things so we'll thank you!
Good luck! If you watch these playlists in this order, it should help out a lot. Of course, feel free to skip the stuff you already know. In addition, you won't see every single topic from my videos on the test. @@cranstonkamaka8725 I sure will! I’m mad ready to leave, I also have 10 pounds lose and so far I’ve lost 5 pounds so hopefully I’m good to go by February or March
Quick Question: for "C" 5/8 divided by 1/3. You didn't change it from an improper fraction into a mixed number. Are you supposed to? Will the Asvab have the improper fraction and mixed number listed, and which would be the correct answer for that scenario since they're both right? Also for "e" 1 and 5/3 divided by 1/3. I got the answer 48/3, but do you not simplify down to 16/1 or just 16?
Does anyone know how to figure out when to stop trying to find the multiples? Like how do you know how far to go to find the least common multiple in the question around 7:17? Please and thank you.
I originally got an 88 with all line scores above 120 for Army but I would like to get higher, this helped me a ton. I only had trouble with remainders and mixed numbers.
Thank you For making this Video. I really need this I’m Trying to get in The Army but I’m struggling to pass my ASVAB. Especially mathematics. I only Have Limited knowledge on mathematics. I’m confused where I’m gonna start to study

Im having issues understanding the finding the greatest common factor in order to reduce the fraction concept. Anyway you can show in more detail the step by step “ how to” on how do that?
Here is my fractions review playlist: ru-vid.com/group/PLhlU-GzAQeG3rQjliSl-ThN_L2lF1iABE The first two videos address finding common factors. Generally speaking, you have to be proficient at mental math, including with times tables, to find GCFs effortlessly.
@@GrammarHero thank you ! You are a real hero! It may not seem like much helping people w/ math but Your work literally changing and keeping america safe by helping and preparing future soldiers to serve
Grammar hero i straight up love you bro. Never felt so smart in my life and confident. Went to the Recruiter yesterday took my AFQT practice test got a 87 on it. I been getting 18,24,25. Not to mention I took my asvab at MEPS and got a 18 and failed so I’m looking forward to retaking my test Tuesday. Thank you so much bro you really made my goal come true. There are some things I still struggle with in math but you made the basic stuff clear enough for me to hopefully pass. I have so much confidence now. For everyone not knowing if this stuff will work give it a chance I promise you it pays off. Pay attention and just try practice problems on your own and study for an hour or two you’ll be fine. Grammar hero truly breaks everything down to a level that anyone can understand. He is by far the best tutor and it’s FREE.😂take advantage guys and to all my future brothers and sisters in the military good luck to all of you I believe in you guys preparing for this test.🫡
Thank you this helped me because I am not good with fractions but i needed to learn for ASVAB and my study buddy had brought me here and I also wasn't good with converting fractions into decimals or percentages.
My website is asvabapp.com. Apart from that, the Iowa National Guard also has a good website, too: www.iowanationalguard.com/Recruiting/Pages/default.aspx?url=www.iowanationalguard.com/Recruiting/Pages/pretest.htm On my website, you'll want to download a copy of my reference sheet and checklist: Reference sheet: www.asvabapp.com/Reference.pdf Checklist: www.asvabapp.com/checklist.pdf Generally, I include enough practice questions in each of my videos, so you don't have to leave RU-vid while studying.
Thanks grammer hero it was hard, but dang you got me far enough where i want to be n my test is this thursday for the asvab.i failed the first time but this time i think i got it all in my pocket💯👌
That isn't a common topic in math or the ASVAB. That said, I have a video on finding the reciprocal of fractions. Also, to find the reciprocal of any number, including decimals, you just place it under one. For example: the reciprocal of .5 is 1/.5 .
@@GrammarHero i took my Asvab yesterday and I had a question to find the reciprocal of 0.25 I had a hard time to solve the question lol, trust me I got a Afqt of 75 just because of your videos, but then I had to verify my score at Meps and I got rolled into the full Asvab so my score now is Afqt 40, I’m retaking the test next month to get a higher score!
@karolinykethlin7220 .25 = 1/4 KEEP CHANGE FLIP 1 / (1/4 ) = 1 x 4 /1 = 1 x 4 = 4. The only thing you needed to know about a decimal there is that .25 = 1/4, which I cover in my fractions video. I also cover reciprocals and dividing fractions. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
