15 of my exercises which I call Blues Etudes ( and some bonus material) are on Soundslice.
Check it out here: www.soundslice...
For people interested in Midiculous, the software that shows the Midi information in the bottom of the screen, please use my affiliate link when you decide to buy: gospelmusician...
My students ask me about the voicing I play with my right hand when playing a Blues in F (or any other key for that matter) while playing a left hand bass.
So in this video I'm showing some of those. Of course there are many more options, but I'm hoping you'll find this video useful and that it will give you an idea or more ideas of how to go about playing like this.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks for this! Really, there are almost NO videos around un organ comping (Jazz, Jazz-Blues or Blues). My 12 year old son is migrating from piano to organ and it’s one of the aspects which are very different than piano, because too many notes on an organ will fill up too much space. I hate to say “keep’em coming!”, but on this subject I am afraid I have no other choice! Thanks!

Thank you ! I always say ‘Keep ‘em coming’ to myself haha but somehow it always takes a while. Comments like these are inspirational though! So let me see what I can do!

Jimmy Smith was a master of chords and started in the late 1960s using a lot of these same "fourthy" sounding voicings. He went to it on the blues as a bread and butter voicing style, and never really stopped doing the rest of his career which I have always found kind of intriguing and a bit sad. He had large hands to play wide chords with, but either way these chords sound large, mysterious, angry, and rather sad to me. I use them sparingly. When I was a kid I was fascinated by these voicings for their "badass" mysterious feeling but the truth is they sound kind of angry and impersonal to me now so I avoid them. Thanks for sharing.

Some advanced level chords there, both theoretically and practically (man that Bb9 chord with the 3-b7-9-5 was a stretch!). But this is some good shit thank you!!!

Small hands? You're easily reaching the tenth with those hands. You're doing ok. I do notice, like I do, the need to pull the palm off the keys to allow that tenth stretch. I just can't snap it like you do. Nice presentation, Frank.

I can’t reach a 10th easily , but with a little effort I can do it for most chords haha. Thanks for the comment ! 🙏

This is great. Do you still use midiculous? I noticed it displays two keyboard tiers now. The new Hammond 2 tier sdx pro is out now.
