This practice is ALL YOU NEED so that you can learn how to do a headstand. First 25 mins of this class consist of the best exercises that you need to practice on a regular basis to improve your strength and flexibility so that you can prepare yourself to learn how to headstand. Next 20 mins is a full tutorial with the best tips on how to approach a headstand in a healthy way.
This practice will become a strong foundation for your headstand. We will focus on strengthening our arms, shoulders, core and hip flexors. I will share with you all of the best exercises and drills. We will also remember to stretch our hamstrings which will allow us to enter a headstand with more ease.
Apart from physical practice I will share with you a very detailed and full tutorial with bets tips that will give you a clear understanding of basic principles and guidelines to this asana.
This practice will start with some targeted warmup but you are more than welcome to do your own general warmup before you begin our sequence. I will not cover any contraindications for this pose in this video. If you have any concerns please consult your general physician.

You're so sweet Marina 😍 it's always fun practising with u. I seriously learnt to lift up into my headstand thanks to your tips & core exercises. I've been practising inversions on a regular basis for 10 months now with you, today my headstand has become a straight stable line with an active body awareness. I trusted the process and my practice with, now I get to enjoy the magic u tell us about ✨ I remember when u first uploaded this video, my thighs were nowhere near my belly while upside down, but today it didn't feel hard at all, it's like I've always been able to do so. I really for everyone to never give up no matter how difficult the exercise is, it's ok to take breaks when we reach our limits, but repeat, dare and challenge to do it and try to hold lil longer than last time is how I proceed with my practice each time. We are so lucky to have a great and wonderful teacher, she always makes sure for us to move safely and understand the tiniest detail 💙 love u looots Marina 🙏🏼✨ So grateful (Day 8 complete)

I could do headstand before but after watching this video I found my mistakes. When I took a video from my headstand I saw how the straight body is important. Now it is much more easier. Really appreciate. I always enjoy your videos.

Thank you for this practice and tutorial, now I'm understanding so much more why I felt unsafe on trying this pose. I feel my shoulders and arms tired because finally I've worked with the right part of the body! thank you marina. It's very good to know how to approach this pose without kick on the neck and head, as it so sensible !!

I have to correct a few things in my posture which I realise I do, but I am so excited I did it, as I started the practice without believing that I would (especially without kicking)! I would have never believed stands like this are possible for me. I only had a dream to be able to do something like that one day. I've been practising almost every day with your videos and after this session i could keep bent legs upwards for about 5 seconds! It's an amazing feeling of achievement! This was a great video for me as a beginner! i didn´t make it into a full headstand but I did feel my toes lift from the mat. I will practise this video a few more times before i try to do a full headstand. Thank you so much for this, I think you are a great teacher!

I absolutely love your strategy Madeleine !!! Do not rush it - keep repeating the drills and get stronger and more flexible ! And then headstand will happen easily !

this video is all I need in this moment because I was searching a tutorial that is ok to learn how to do headstand in a good way! In many tutorials the people use kick in the asana but I am scared to try in this way! In the way you teach I finally do my headstand! Very interesting and useful Marina.. hoping you do others tutorials like this for inversions in the future.

Love this practice and the sequence before going into headstand is so good that it made it so easy to go full headstand. Thank you Marina for a beautiful practice and to all the tips you've kindly shared. I learned doing headstand self tought and by watching videos on how to do it and I've not seen any that has done it as thorough and detailed as you did. It really made a huge difference. I loved this video so much. I always wanted to learn to do headstands but didn’t know how to approach them as a beginner but your instructions were more than helpful. This was my first attempt and the way you taught us made me feel safe and confident. I didn’t get to lift both legs just yet because I felt I needed to first grow more strength in my arms and shoulders but I feel that this is a great start and will continue to practice this! Tried this Marina! I actually managed to did it once before & I haven't got the courage to do it again till now...still got a lot of practicing to do but I got the basic already, just need to strengthen my arms & core more & have more courage I guess 😁😁...txs so much! Thanks so much Marina!! It was a geeat workout and I never went into handstand so easy! And even managed to stay there for a couple of secs! The warming up is exactly what I needed to built strenght and confidence! Loved it!🤗😊

Another amazing practice. Saw you post about this video on IG and knew I had to try. I was able to tuck one leg and get to my tippy toes with my other leg. The leg raises killed me today after the intense core workout before doing this one. 😅 But it felt like it was mostly a mental struggle today. However, I enjoyed the tutorial, hearing all the cues for headstand again after a while. 🙌

Yes I decided that headstand class might be not too intense for intermediate level so I spiced it up with intense core lol !!!! Glad you felt the challenge (mental challenge can be tougher than physical)

i'm having a hard time keeping my shoulders aligned with my elbows! my body keeps sliding backward so i keep falling back

Hello Jess ! Yes I saw the video you sent me. To be honest, I have not been talking about aligning shoulders on top of elbows (if that is what you mean ). We do not do that in a headstand. Please try to listen carefully again to every tip about alignment and hands/ head placement that I explain at the end of this video. By your video it looked like you were trying to do forearm balance rather than a headstand. Keep trying !!! I am always happy to help !

Hello Azadeh ! Do not let this bring you down !!! that means you need to keep working on your strength and flexibility. One day it will happen and will feel like a victory !! So keep going remembering that headstand is not an easy pose. It takes time and effort !
