Hi! my dear friends!
After you learned the numbers from 0 to 9,999,999,999,999,999 in Mandarin Chinese, let's apply them in another subject “Days of the week" in Mandarin Chinese.
For saying the “Days of the week", with a very simple concept, you can start to say Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday in Mandarin Chinese in a very short time!
Here is the structure of this lesson.
Part1:
(1.1) Basic concept and rule for saying the days of the week ( Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday)
(1.2) Learn how to say “week” in Mandarin Chinese ( 星期xīngqí or 星期 xīng qī , 禮拜(礼拜) lǐbài, and 週 (周) zhōu)
(1.3) Learn how to Sun and Sky and the numbers from 1 to 6 in Mandarin Chinese. ( 日, 天, 一, 二, 三, 四, 五, 六)
Part2:
(2.1) Learn how to say each day of the week with the phrase meaning week 星期xīngqí or 星期 xīng qī
(2.2) Learn how to say each day of the week with the phrase meaning week 禮拜(礼拜) lǐbài
(2.3) Learn how to say each day of the week with the phrase meaning week 週 (周) zhōu
Part3
Comprehensive Review
Part 4
Practice saying the days of the week with a Taiwan nursery Rhyme.
Enjoy it!

This video is the best as a musician I know singing is a good way of learning. I like the comparison of the Chinese and Taiwanese tones and having read some of the comments. Those who think this video is long they should look up the meaning of the word practice and patience. Excellent video, I love listening to Chinese speak English.

Thank you so much for the comment. I struggled with shortening the video time or not . But later I still decided to make "whole concept" and well prepared long video. I always try to improve my English ability. I hope my English is OK for you all. :-p

in Malaysia, we've been taught to use "星期" for usual, "礼拜" just only limited for Sunday because the worship just only on Sunday. but it's okay to say it on daily conversation.
@MandarinImpossible
@MandarinImpossible 7 лет назад
In my videos, they are based on the Mandarin Chinese in China and Taiwan. In China and Taiwan, "礼拜" is not limited for Sunday anymore. That's why people in China and Taiwan also use "礼拜" to say Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Thank you that you let me know that in Malaysia people only use " "礼拜" for saying Sunday. It's really nice to know that. Thank you for your information! :-)

I appreciate all the repetition in your lesson. However, it might be helpful to break up Chinese videos and Taiwanese videos into two separate ones so those who want to focus on one don't have to be confused by the other. (Those who want to learn both could still watch both videos.) It'd also help those who felt the video was long.

Hi! I did not get a point, why did you sun,or sky for Sunday. Or do you use this because of holiday?
@MandarinImpossible
@MandarinImpossible 6 лет назад
Hi! Long long time ago in China, people used different way to describe each day of the week. Later when the western culture came into China, then people started to give a Chinese name for each day of the week from Monday, Tuesday until Saturday and Sunday. In ancient China, Chinese Christian went to church every week and called that special day in the week as "Worship Day" in Chinese. Day in Chinese is called: " 天" which means "sky" and "day" Or "日" which means "sun" and "day" Therefore, you can also remember it as "Day" for Sunday. And "Day" in Mandarin Chinese is called " 天" and "日". In this video, I explained how was it from by a interesting story. You can also check the link here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_4k_oDAP2Pk.htmlm50s

If you teach Chinese Mandarin and Taiwan together. You make person of not completely understand become confuse because you teach two manner at once. Other words, you should put all formal lesson in one video and the informal in an other videos. As well Same to chines Mandarin and Taiwan's. So we can learn one lesson at a time. This way we will get it. I learn your lesson for over 3 years, and i be confuse just like above.
@MandarinImpossible
@MandarinImpossible 5 лет назад
Thank you for your feedback and let me know what difficulties you had. So far all my videos listed both traditional and simplified characters. All the traditional characters are listed on the top row , and the simplified characters are listed on the bottom row with the parentheses like this : "(......)". Please focus on the demonstration and the characters in the parentheses if you like to learn the simplified more. The next video have been making and is in progress. Except the coming video and for the future videos, I will have a concern about what you said and try to make the balance between traditional and simplified characters. :-)

boring class you have to say week name first you took long time
@MandarinImpossible
@MandarinImpossible 7 лет назад
你好, Saya Saya :-) I think my lessons are really boring and I agree with that. :-) I spent a lot of time on explaining each meaning of the characters in the phrase meaning "week" in the video because my students can apply them in the other phrases like 星球 which literally means "star ball". Then you can memorize "星球" means "planet". Right now I like to keep this boring way to teach especially for the very basic parts. But after I teach all the basic things I want to teach, the style of the lesson will be changed. Thank you for your feedback and hope one day my videos will become more interesting to you. Good luck! ^^
