In this video I show all the steps to set up a new SharePoint calendar with a "Copy Event" custom action which allows users to copy calendar events daily, weekly, monthly or yearly. This requires some basic steps in Power Automate which are all shown in the video.

Great video. I set this up for day, week, month, and year. I'd love to see bi-weekly, and quarterly but I could make it work.

This has been brilliantly helpful. Thanks for this. As a side note, SharePoint 2007/2010 used to have a facility for replicating calendar events.

Thank you for this video. I was tasked with running a power automate to run every day against a SharePoint list and send email, create ticket for tasks/reminders. Since Modern SharePoint does not currently have reoccurrence setting, this video will help me create the task/event, copy out a series for the next few years and then my Power Automate daily flow will work smoothly. Even using the classic calendar event and grabbing the reoccurring data is very complex, I just wanted something simple, this will do. Thanks again!

The first time I made the calendar I had an error and I knew what it was so I did it all over again. And it worked

Great video, really useful info,. Thanks. I have created a work assignment tracker whereby users enter what project they are working on. Projects can last months at a time but if we create a single entry then it would track weekends, this would be a great way to have only weekdays. Is there any other way to break up a long entry into smaller weekday only entries?

Thank you for this video. I am wondering if there is any way to delete the recurring items from the list after adding the recurring items.

This seems to be no longer working in the new designer. I made the flow in the old designer but since the new one is my default, it doesn't find the for step 'for a selected item'. Do you perhaps know a workaround?

Great video! If I wanted to add Bi-Weekly as an option, will changing the increment amount from 1 to 2 in the Flow (like you said below) affect the daily/weekly/monthly options?

I created custom field that shows the type of off day (vaca, training etc.). It's a drop down list that I set up that when you create an event and select a category type it adds it next to what you call the event. Ex. Peter (Vacation). How do you bring that into the flow?

This is a great video, thank you. I do have one question thought.....I did everything you instructed but when i was testing....the start date on a weekly basis does change to end date instead....would you be kind to show me where I messed up? Also, I am trying to do a "every other week" recurrence and when i chose 14 days.....it still shows me a weekly recurrence.....please assist. Thank you

This was very helpful and appreciated! Now I'm trying to figure out how to create a recurring event that occurs monthly on the second Tuesday, instead of monthly on a particular date. If you have a solution for that, please share.

Great Video, this has been the bane of my life since migrating to the cloud, no recurring events!!!. Could this work with a created by event? rather than a user having to go to the context menu and manually run a Workflow? (not very intuitive when you have hundreds of users)

You are awesome - do you know how i might modify an app (rather than a list) that was created as a calendar to do the same thing

I fell at the first hurdle - Power Automate isn't picking up my calendar as one of the Lists on my site. I think because it was created using the Events webpart, rather than starting from a blank List. Is there a workaround here? Thank you so much.

Wow. This was so helpful!! When will you do the delete repeats video? Or is there a site I can go to for reference? I really appreciate you making this video!
@SharePointSmart
@SharePointSmart Год назад
Thanks! The deletes could be done by tagging the events with a unique title or number. It is a good idea for a later video. 🙂

Exactly what I needed - running into a small snag, however. I am able to copy a meeting event however the start and end times are an hour later in the copies. Anyone running into this issue? Suspect it may be due to a timezone issue? Any help would be appreciated.
@PFSIKH

Yes. When creating a repeating event it will 'spring forward' for day light savings (10 Mar) and then 'fall back' on the other end.

I am looking to make a recurring task for week days only but Weekdays does not work as a valid time unit. Can you advise if there is another way?

Great video! Is it possible to build the flow based on week days? So for example, set a recurring meeting for every first Monday of the month, instead of using the day number.

This works great but if you include the time of the event it adds an hour to the next and future event. How can you keep the time the same. I tried using a separate date and time column but the time is then not editable.
@AliRazaMemon
@AliRazaMemon 4 месяца назад
how to include daylight saving into consideration? lets say event is 1:30 in march and when the daylight kicks in the time for copy event will be 12:30

When I run the script for a week they all fall on the original date. Other options for fortnight, month and year don't appear at all.

It's giving me an error: The input body for trigger 'manual' of type 'Request' did not match its schema definition. Error details: 'Value "Month" is not defined in enum.'., any idea how to fix this?

Wow, thank you! This is amazing. I'm a very poor-quality Sharepoint user, so I have to ask - is it possible to have an every-other-week repeat, or is that beyond what Sharepoint can do?
@SharePointSmart
@SharePointSmart 5 месяцев назад
Yes - it could be any interval you want to set. You just adjust the workflow accordingly to change the number of days that are incremented.

Enter 14 days instead of 7. Create an event for each of the two days and then run the workflow once for each.

@@SharePointSmart Where in the flow can I add number of days or weeks f ex? I have a column in my list/calendar with an interval value? Thanks for a great video - I figured out how to do the Delete/Update-function, but want to be able to include some more specific event-intervals
