I didn’t even take notes like this in school my pen and notebooks are glued to me to catch the gems you drop in every video. Cannot wait to see how far this series go. Eager for shading lesson 🙏🏼
Over the last few weeks i learned MORE and made more progress than in the last months watching random videos. So THANK YOU very much!!! I still have trouble finding the right depth and the right hand speed, bc. It feels like every needle is different. But other than that I’m able to follow you along until now. Not i stop and practice what i learned. When I’m getting confident i watch the other lessons. Again: thank you so much for the time, effort and knowledge you put into your videos ❤
The feel is everything 🙂 you have an amazing understanding of every aspect of tattooing and I am so grateful to have discovered you! So many things that you cover that I never would have thought about and I am so glad I now know! Any one who takes the time to take notes and put the time in will be an amazing tattooist by the end
I m now on lesson 16 and came back to that page to said how I really enjoy the teaching provided by Ben . I remember when I was making those lines and ...it wasnt that simple but I m having a great time learning and improving!
I like these old lessons. I say this all the time every time I watch a old video, i pick something up again ive overlooked or forgotten. Don't get me wrong the new ones have better production etc, but miss the whiteboard.
Ben, you're one of the best for me. Your lesson are amazing, nice, slow and exactly explained how is it and how to do it. I downloaded all your lessons and couldn't wait for next one. Just keep going Ben 👌👊 and all the best!
Thank you sooo much for teaching & training me with these lessons... I went into tattooing with no experience & a homemade gun many years ago... Now I'm getting back into it with a rotary pen tattoo gun & the knowledge you've given me... I understand alot more... Learned much from your lessons & have lots more confidence.

Love the advice. It's great to have such a resource to learn. Seems like so many people want to keep the tips and tricks as a closely guarded secret. Thanks for sharing them with us!
I did not have a 14 liner- but did a 13 shader. I see where people might think its more forgiving- but we need to treat it like its not. The goal is for every mm to be done with precision

Thank you for the quality, informative uploads. I've just purchased myself a basic set up to begin with, and am following your lessons to hopefully build up a portfolio to secure an apprenticeship.

Hi ya Ben, yet again mate top video dude. I was just wanting to know, as I work from home as an airbrush artist, and I have work in. What is a decent amount of time to practice tattooing, to still move along and learn at a good pace. Thanks again matey
@@shanebowles4854 looked at your work and it's very good. You will make an awesome tattooist if you stick at it and follow along with the course. I actually wouldn't mind learning how to airbrush and bought one a year or so ago. Could trade skills when this corona has blown over
That's spurred me on more matey. Absolutely, I'm definitely up for teaching you Airbrushing mate, its another out let. Thanks again Ben, and I'll be looking forward to the next lesson, and when this lockdown is over. Stay safe boss
I’m actually following this course step by step, now I have a question how fast should we be progressing through the whole course? Should I do an exercise a week or just progress when I’m getting each part down? Or do I work on all of them each time I practice?

Where can I find the tutorial where you explain how deep the needles go into skin ? You said there is a video explaining how to always know how deep to go , but I only found a video about needles (lesson 8 ) but there is no explanation about how deep to use the needles.
You only nees to go deep enough to make the line solid. Once you see the little dot of ink appear go a tiny little bit in and do the line. Wipe it and if its not dark enough try a tiny bit deeper. If your cutting up the mat or hitting the table your going too deep and the machine speed likley isnt matched with your hand speed. Adjust the power pack and repeat the whole process.
These videos are brilliant for learning the fundamentals for tattooing but I’m failing bad with the practice skins I have, does anyone know if you can get better skins and what would be the best to buy and closest to real skin? Thanks in advance
What practice mats do you recommend us getting?. I’m sure you’ve told us before but I’m about to order some and don’t have the time to go through every video! Thank You so much Ben! Your the man your helping me so damn much it’s insane! Seriously man I’m taking notes like crazy! I never took notes or read a thing in school now 15 years later I can’t stop note taking, reading learning non stop I can’t get enough! I can’t always following along so I rewatch these non follow along videos and take notes.

When i ask the same question to my mentor he says with smile : The lines becomes batter when you push. And i say, its vary hard for me to do it...after few second he told me: that's why you get 10$ per hour, but others get 100$
Jessamy. if you didn't find the answer to your question. While pulling down needs will come off the bottom of the tube. When pushing the needle stays on the bottom of the tube. Less chance of wobbles. Hope this helps
I lined with a bugpin 5rl and it lines like a dream if you move your hand fast enough to not slice the skin. Having trouble with a standard 9rl though to get those bold lines. The ink goes everywhere and I cant see what I'm doing.
U know I had same problem but I finally realized I didn't have my needle out far enough I'm sure there is other things it could be but that was my problem maybe it helps
Thy93rd if your slicing the skin your machine speed and hand speed are not in sync. Start at a low voltage run a line at correct depth. Look at it. If it weak. Move up one 1 volt until you get a nice crisp solid line. That will be your correct voltage for your hand. Hope this helps
