Every video I've seen on Melodyne whether it's you or someone else, all the singers are relatively in tune....the changes are so slight. I would really like to see what's possible with a vocal that is fairly seriously off. I realize the worse the original vocal, the more robotic it'll sound like when corrected but I'd just like to see a tutorial on someone who might barely be able to carry a tune but isn't necessarily a good singer

Using the ARA Version of Melodyne automatically transfers the audio from your Vocal Takes so you don’t have to use Transfer Button and play the track before you start editing. It also takes into account Comping, Looping, Muted Parts, and Copied Parts. Just a useful thing I found, that should help.

Yes! ARA doesn’t work in every DAW so I wanted to try to be as general as possible, but what you described is how I actually use Melodyne! Thank you for taking the time to comment!

Very good in every respect: content (helps me understanding much better than many other videos here in RU-vid), and video quality (really super). This and you using Logic Pro were a reason for me to subscribe to this channel. Now, if I ever planned to make such a video, what apps do you use to get this quality (e. g. how can you put yourself in without there being a rectangle around you, just you and no background; hope you know what I mean).

Great tutorial Noah! What version of Melodyne are you using? I'm primarily interested in vocal tuning and am considering Celemony 5 Assistant. Any recommendations on what version to get?

I'm using Assistant and I think it is for sure the best if you are just doing vocals! The basic essentials package can feel a bit limiting.

Nice video. Very clear instructions. Do you know if there is a way to re-combine a blob into a single blob after splitting it up while still in melodyne? Other than bouncing the clip in my DAW?

Yup! If I understand your question correctly, just use the blob split tool and click between the notes you’d like to join! Hope this helps!

nice quick and helpful tutorial thanks. I have just bought Melodyne Essential and I dont understand why the Melodyne display does not line up with the playback from the DAW (if you know what I mean?) I can edit the blob so it is in tune and sounds better but the movement of the playback is different from the DAW playback. Any thoughts what I need to do to get the sound and the blobs to align would be appreciated.

What daw are you using? Also, make sure Melodyne is the First plug-in in your plugin chain.

@@noahpence thanks for the prompt reply Noah. The DAW is Cubase 9 Artist. I re-transferred the audio in and that seemed to help. I may not have pressed the transfer at the start of playing the audio (first day) or perhaps pressed it again while randomly pressing buttons to see what they do. The Essential version doesn't seem to have the Pitch Transition tool you have demonstrated - unfortunately. That looks great. I think about buying the upgrade one day but it is fair bit more $$

@@noahpence Hi me again. Any thoughts as to why sometimes I can move a blob horizontally (for example, so it aligns with a beat) by grabbing it in the middle. Yet other times it seems to always stretch the blob. If you know what I mean. It's been frustrating me.

Help wanted! I finished my edit in melodyne, close out of the plugin, then when i play the track in the song, it almost sounds like the parts I corrected are dubbed over... Any idea on why that's the case?

Make sure melodyne is the first plug-in in your chain. Also be sure no other plugins are turned on while trouble shooting to see if they could be the cause. Which DAW are you using?

The only way to do that would be if Celemony has made an M1 native version which I don’t believe they have done yet. I use all M1 macs and Melodyne runs perfectly

It is possible that you accidentally downloaded the windows version of melodyne from the website. Make sure it says for macOS
