Translators have a crucial role in interpreting local customs and traditions presented in books. It is a challenging yet rewarding job, and people like Antonia Lloyd-Jones are the best examples of this.
She is best known as the long-term translator of Olga Tokarczuk’s works to English and has been recognised with the Found in Translation Award for seven of her works published in 2012.
Ms Lloyd-Jones doesn’t hide her appreciation for the diversity of Polish written works and shared with us the books she would recommend to first-time readers of Polish books. From crime fiction to sci-fi and poetry, Polish literature has something for everyone!
