Compared to all the toys out there, it's actually not that expensive. With this and Ableton Suite you can get a lot accomplished. Compare it to the price of a good controller, a DAW, some hardware, a few sample packs, all that is about the same if not more. With this you get the sounds and the means to perform all in one.
“you can get alot accomplished” 5 years ago I hope you see this comment This is revolutionary with the new abelton live 11 software it’s literally all you need
Sure, the Session mode on Push allows you to trigger individual clips and scenes, just like the Akai APC series or the Novation Launchpad. However, note that Push 2 requires to be powered to the wall for an optimal display readability.
Hello, Can i listen to clips and load them directly from my push2? and if i played a loop and wanted to add another one to the same track, how is it supposed to be done? And thank you for this wonderful machine.
Sure, to do that select an empty clip slot on Session, and with the Browse button you'll be able to see the contents of your folders on Push's display, and load any given sample :)
yes so it's basically a midi controller with a screen to display what you're controlling on the Ableton software. I could pretty much do the same stuff with many other midi devices. Because this is made by Ableton it's already pre-configured to control everything. So no need to configure all the knobs and/scenes etc..
+itsFarawaySkies I asked in some store, it i can borrow it for few days. Like ten... They said yes'! :D But i need to pay it first (to be sure i will not stole it) But still... Great to try this one and be sure if i keep it or not!
+rpg aleksy I'm kinda astonished how many people are complaining $1k is too much.. But then again I'm prob reading comments from unemployed teens. Just save a month's pay people..
Yeah I'm looking for more or less a standalone device that has in built sounds, effects and can sample... a bit like the Novation circuit. However the circuit is limited in the sample editing functions, plus I'm not impressed with the in built sounds. I'd like something similar as you can always use them as controllers too. Whereas something like push is just a controller with colour screen but relies on Ableton running on a PC/laptop. I have hardware samplers and sequencers but would just like an all-in-one device. There are some but they always seem to have something missing. I like the look of the Maschine Studio but again it relies on controlling their the Maschine proprietary DAW software mainly.
yeah been looking at that... close to what I need but maybe more for electronic type stuff. Sampler is limited too. It does look fun tho but a bit too pricey maybe. I'm actually looking a the MPC live coming out. Looks like it has everything, plus battery operated, portable all in one unit and can also be used as a controller if required. 2 midi din in and out for hardware...great. Can hook up an HD and uses usb or sd cards too... lots of options.
I'm trying hard to justify buying this if I already have a Push 1. Other than a nicer screen and chopping samples on that itty bitty screen, I see no actual upgrade worth the money spent. If I didn't have a push already, I would hands down buy this ASAP.
yeah, I have a push 1 too. and we get some of the updates as well (the most important ones imo), so that's nice. - it will still do the trick. but I have to give it to them: the level of integration in push 2 is pretty sexy. for me, this thing is damn close to perfect - it's the all in one solution.
Hi everybody, In case some of you don't already know, I've updated my Push-ArrangeMode M4L device so it now works with Push2 too! To sum it up, this device adds an Arrangement Mode to your beloved Push. You'll find all the info gumroad.com/l/uFGU Enjoy!
Ableton is a lifestyle, simple, fun, creative, and well made, real German quality. I really hope the release the next push soon, because I really don't want to buy this and all of a sudden, the next one comes out, and I just spent $700.
It looks very nice and a bit more intuitive as its new redesigned layout makes it a bit more simple to understand and to work on and even its look now looks a bit nicer altough I don't think I'm going to upgrade from my original first Push as basically it's still capable of almost all of the features of Push 2 as thank God you guys manteined the support for Push 1 as well but for its cost now 700€ I don't think it would be worth for me upgrading as Push 1 still kicks asses lol :D
Does anyone have a circuit and a push? I would like to know more about how they compare. I have a novation circuit and even though it does have less features I still think it might be a more powerful performance tool workflow wise. And it is completely standalone, i got mine for about $300
Hi, i say try it out first . I purchased mine through sweetwater , and after a month of having it I found myself not using it that much , only becasue I would use Logic Pro x as well and I also use the native instruments sounds . Plus it was too expensive for one piece of hardware (that does a lot obviously ) IMO. but I figured why not get two for one. I bought a komplete kontrol keyboard and a maschine jam that I'm still waiting to recieve , it's been shipped and I'm really excited . Overall I ended up getting two things i needed to help my workflow . It depends on you and your workflow and if you prefer ableton as your primary daw. It integrates really well with ableton and I'm sure in the near future it will integrate really well with other plugins

Hi Ableton guys! how can I set all 64 pads to different notes, effectively the same as a keyboard, for synths, Kontakt 5 etc? s16.postimg.org/4v8w1gvl1/scale_2_of_12_1_3_MB.jpg Here is the solution of key/note ordering/mapping on this Picture.
The thing is, that this product IS a studio. I think it worth it's price, still expensive as fuck but. What a product. Push 2 just put Maschine into the garbage bin.
It probably costs about $150 to make, let's say double or triple that to recoup r&d costs and make a healthy profit.. but it's twice as expensive as that again! A copy of Live is included in the high price, be it basically a demo version or a full version, whether you want it or not. Like Maschine it's nothing without the software (which you may have already bought) and a pc.
I get it Adam Smith. 99.8% People who are interesting in Push are already using Live, meaning they already have a pc meaning your arguments is weird. It's still a lot of money, but whoever can afford it, go for it.Those who can't meh its fine, it's not an necessary equipement anyway, more like a big big helpful toy.
can anyone tell me if the temp knob has a click when turned or smooth with no click , just like the other knobs. I have a broken tempo encoder were the shaft is completely broken off and i dont know if it's a smooth encoder with no detents or a step encoder with detents. Any one please let me know. thanks
The guys in Snarky Puppy and the hot players in "The Eddy" would be profoundly underwhelmed (not to mention Jarrett, Evans, Coltrane and Miles etc etc etc)
look the problem is. i work on multiple leads. when i press TAP it usually gives me the opportunity to press PLAY. and it starts. when i switch to a midi lead, i mark it, to edit it and make the arrangement. what happens? ABLETON automatically switches the TRIGGER BUTTON for play. This is the problem. this kills my whole workflow. i don't want ableton to switch the start position when i click on a midi file. ableton 9 didn't do that. yet ableton 10 has this BIG ISSUE.This needs to be solved or i will switch back to ableton 9 or cuebase.

It's too confusing... I want to change velocity or nudge beat's sound and by pressing the pad nothing happens... push 1 was easier... this one is too complicated and user unfriendly.
