Great explanation. The only criticism is I'm act 2. Brody used his pistol in the first attack to attack the shark that is right next to him. The pistol is a ranged weapon that can shoot anywhere. It would be a waste to use the pistol instead of the players melee weapon when right next to the shark. Long range weapons are valuable as they get removed after use, unless you have ammo.

I don’t understand in any scenario where a crew member would be in the water and allow the shark a full dice attack vs: being thrown into the water after a successful boat attack and only allow a single dice bonus attack by the shark. This sounds like a mistake..
How about if one of the resurface card is already destroyed. Can the shark still choose that card? How does it operate? Or it is a part of benefit for the crew?
So with this situation it is actually better for the shark, It can choose that space which is now adjacent to three ship spaces the ones on both sides and the one in front of it. When the shark comes up and must choose a ship space to attack it will pick which one to attack. Thanks for watching and for the question. I hope that clears it up for you;)

I just played Act 1 recently. We ran into a rules question: if you activate a motion sensor twice (going in and out again of an area) do you have to reveal that? Or is sharing that the shark activated the sensor enough? Any thoughts?
@@LearntoPlayGames That's what I did as the shark. The rules only say Bruce has to announce if he set off an alarm, not how many times. I feel that would have been TMI for good, even gameplay. Also, the crew team had miscounted my possible moves and confirming one or two alarms would have given away my position, which they didn't really have. Thanks so much for the response. Seriously, there was a small tantrum thrown, and we were on the way to flipping the board territory. LOL

Thanks for a detailed walkthrough! Just got this game for Christmas, can't wait to play. What confused me though is you say that the Shark receives Shark Ability cards based on the number of swimmers eaten in Act 1, and you say he ate 7, but deal 8 cards? Is it because the Shark gets one Ability card by default plus cards equal to the swimmers eaten?
Thanks for watching and for the question. There is a chart on the sharks character board that lists the number of swimmers eaten and based on that it will tell you how many shark ability cards you get. You are also correct it is basically 1 card plus the number of swimmers eaten.

I have a question I couldn't figure out today while playing for the first time: What does the Speed Burst shark ability do exactly? Who gets those 2 hits? Or how does that work?
Thanks for watching, I am a little confused on the question. First with the speed burst ability when you use that you spend an action as normal but instead of moving one space you can move up to three, but there is no damage done with that so I am not sure what you are talking about with the 2 hits?
What happens if someone plays the binoculars or fish finder and "spots" the shark and the shark token is placed on the board. If another round is played after this for Act 1, what happens with the shark token? Does the shark make his/her moves with it on the next round or how does that work?
Thanks for watching and for the question. I checked on BGG and the designer there said it is removed when the shark moves during the next turn. We have always removed it at the end of the round. Hope this helps;)
Yes you can repeat some actions like movement you could spend all you actions to just move. There are some actions that can only be done once per turn like using a barrel or using the fish finder of Hoopers. Thanks for the question and for watching;)
Great video and i found it clear and helpful. I realised at the end that you didn't give us any thoughts or opinions on the game at all really. It was pretty much only rules/how to play stuff. Be interested in what you thought of it, possible strategies, short comings etc etc
Thanks for the question, I think they did a really good job with the game and it defiantly fells like Jaws. I think both acts are solid but can have some problems if players from either side get lucky early on than that makes it feel one sided. Act 2 can be real bad if you don't get the rules right. It can feel like it is impossible for both sides depending on what rules you get wrong, but if you are playing correctly as I learned even I was making mistakes the first couple of play throughs than it is a great experience with both sides really having to work to win. I really enjoyed the game and will be playing again when I have time also looking at doing a live stream of my group playing on twitch when we have time.
So happy to hear this video was helpful, I really enjoyed the game, but found there are a few areas in the rule book that can be tricky and was really trying to nail them in the video. How did your game go? who won? was it close?
If a crew member was in the water on the opposite side of the Orca from where the shark was with a firearm, could they target the sharks space and still get a shot off?
Thanks for watching and for the question. So on pg 9 it states that if you are using a firearm weapon, you may target any water space, regardless of where you are. The one exception to this is the pistol as it states you may move your target token to an adjacent water space after the shark is revealed. The other variable here is if the Orca spaces have been eliminated. Hope this helps if not let me know and I will explain it differently;)
Thanks for watching and for the question. To be honest I have not played it with just two players, but I feel it would be a lot of fun. I would see it as a battle of wits really trying to get into your opponents head. I will see if I can get a game or two in and give some feedback on it.
Okay I think I understand what you are asking so lets say that we cut the boat in half down the middle so you have a water space between the two parts of the boat and you want to get the the other end. First you would spend one move point to get into the water, than you have to stop as you need two move points get get out of the water and back on to the other half of the boat which you can do your next turn.
