I would use the same technique. You will need a big table or get down on the floor to smooth it out. Also, the center piece should be a full width of Minky, then add the desired additional fabric to each side for the full width.

Thank you fir your kind words. You don’t need to add stitches to the middle. You could if you were concerned it might shift. Tacking it would give it a quilt like appearance which would be nice too.

Yes you can. However the Minky might be a little challenging since it’s thicker.

@@barrettscustomdesign thank you. I actually did one with the minky according to your video. This time I'm making a receiving blanket and just using two cotton fabrics. Every video I see about mitered corners with cotton fabrics on both sides seems so involved. I like your way much better!

I was surprised the ends didn’t need tucking in either but I think she made the comment her minky wouldn’t unravel. Probably would be a neater finish though 🤷🏼‍♀️

I am no expert, but every RU-vid I’ve watched no one has.

The finished size is determined by the width of the fabric and the length you cut. Many Minky fabrics are around 65 inches wide so the blanket will end up about 63 wide by the length you choose.
