While on vacation, this morning I saw you and your daughter working-out on the beach while your son recorded the video. The workout you both did wasn’t time consuming and seemed very effective. So I looked you up on RU-vid, as a out of shape 38 year old I found your videos inspiring. Once I get back to Seattle I’m going to buy a kettlebell, start following your routines on RU-vid and working out.
I wouldnt bother doing windmills. Its very unnatural movement which will surly give you a sholder , sternum or back injure. Not worth it. Although you can probably get away with it if you do it very rarely like once a month or something.
Hi Andy, you are right. Kody's form is not perfect. The swing is arguably the most complex kettlebell drill to teach to a raw beginner who has never even done basic gym exercises like squats and deadlifts. As a physical therapist my main focus at the very beginning is to get the trainee doing swings safely, not perfectly. (I mention this in the video description). As far as me saying it was perfect in the midst of his set, that was just me providing encouragement. I appreciate the feedback and we will be releasing a video later this week on ways to correct the flaws in his form now that he has the fundamentals. Thanks for watching.
