@LearnTurkishvia
@LearnTurkishvia Год назад
Merhabalar. I am adding your request to the list. For now, let me give you a brief explanation about it. 1- If it is a positive sentence then "a" is optional. There is a dog in the garden. Bahçede bir köpek var. Bahçede köpek var. Both of them are correct. 2- If it is a question or a negative sentence then better don't use "a". Is there a dog in the garden? Bahçede köpek var mı? There isn't any dog in the garden. Bahçede köpek yok.

I understand why accusative is used for sınavı but don't understand why it is not used for the film and the lesson and the vacation. Are they not particular? Teşekkür ederim. I have taken your Udemy courses and find it very helpful to keep revisiting these videos to help me remember and pick up things I might not have understood well previously.
@LearnTurkishvia

Merhaba. That suffix "-ı" for the word "sınav" is not the accusative suffix. It's the genitive suffix that we use for compound nouns. "Türkçe" is a noun and "sınav" is another noun and together they make a compound noun which is "Türkçe sınavı". Türkçe sınav+ı İngilizce ders+i cep telefon+u And about the accusative suffix: we use accusative suffix only with the direct objects of the sentences. We can't use it with the subjects of the sentences. And in those sentences "film, ders, tatil" are the subjects of the sentences, that's why we can't use the accusative suffix with them. Tatil güzeldi. (Tatil is the subject) Ben tatili seviyorum (Tatil is the object)

Which possessive suffixes can 'ki' be used with other than 'yours'

teşekkürler 🙏, ama problemim var. When I try to translate something like “the test today was difficult” on google translate, it translates it as Bugünkü Türkçe sınavı zordu”. Why does he use vowel harmony? from your video I had understood that “-ki” did not change.
@LearnTurkishvia
@LearnTurkishvia 8 месяцев назад
Merhabalar. As I mentioned in this video lesson at minute 06:00, "-ki" never changes but only with "dün" and "gün" it becomes "-kü", that's the only exception.

I have texted about it in your Instagram account. Will you please check this? Çok teşekkür ederim Hocam 😄🤩

Merhaba hocam 1:18 here we are talking about students which are ( they ) so when we use the adjective çalışkan we need to add personal suffix or no? I thought we should say Bu okuldaki öğrenciler gerçekten çalışkanlar Also aren't we supposed to add the accusative suffix since we are talking about specific students
@LearnTurkishvia
@LearnTurkishvia 4 месяца назад
"-lar" is optional for "onlar", you don't have to use it. "öğrenciler" is the subject of the sentence, not the direct object. Only direct objects take accusative suffixes.

Here "Turkish" is the name of the language, it's a noun.
@junanxiao2011
@junanxiao2011 10 месяцев назад
Thank you for the explanation. I have two questions though. Firstly, why does the sentence 04:41 add an accusative case next to 'sinav'(exam) while others don't, even though the suffix -ki implies that we are talking about the particular subjects? Secondly, if I understand it correctly. The adjectives in Turkish can be used in past tense in the exact same way as we do for verbs right? Like "zordu" and "komikti" in the examples.
