Hi there! Thanks for watching today's video, as this is the first time I've talked at length about something other than video games. I'll admit that I'm far from the wisest, smartest, or most experienced 21 year-old in the world. Yet, I'd like to think that this new mindset will help me be one of the happier ones instead. So, even if I did ramble on for a good chunk of this video's runtime, I hope you were able to take the crux of my message to heart nonetheless. With that said and done, it felt nice being able to talk 1 on 1 with you in this kind of format, so please stay tuned for more chats like this in the future. Until then, take care!
It's honestly really nice hearing that I'm not alone, and it makes me happy that your doing well even though I'm some random guy lol. But hearing this helps me think if I really want to do something. I've always felt like I had no idea what makes me happy because most of the stuff I enjoy isn't a real job, so I'm constantly stuck in a state of "Is it really worth doing this?" stopping me from wanting anything or enjoying anything. Not only enjoyment, but time. Collage is taxing on my brain with time management and deadlines, so I just go completely insane. I hope I'll gain the ability to worry less soon... But thanks for making this video! I love looking at your avatar :)
@@hungrypizzafoxWe're both at that point in our lives where it feels like doing anything other than working towards that universal goal of securing a stable income is "wasting time". But, in reality, so long as you're staying diligent with your studies and responsibilities, please treat yourself to at least one hobby in the meantime. It doesn't matter how simple it is, so long as it relieves you from the grind for even an hour or two. Keep on keeping on, and thank you very much for the kind words!
Didn’t know how much I needed to watch a video like this until now. I won’t go into detail but I’ve been looking back at my progress on a big project I’m working on with more discontent than satisfaction. It’s gotten so bad that I’m losing sleep by trying to maximise the amount of time I spend on it but I’m really starting to notice the side effects this is having on other areas of my life. Initially was thinking it would all be worth it in the end but maybe I’ll take your advice and try to pace myself a bit better while worrying less about how long this is taking me. Good video and I’d love to see more of this “Eren talks” content in the future!
I'm so glad that I could be of help! I'm definitely gonna be making more vids of me just chatting about all kinds of topics, so hopefully I can meet your expectations hahaha
oh man do i love the vibes of this video. it feels like i’m have a chat with you to sort things out with life, and it’s a really nice change of pace from the usual video essays. it’s great that you were able to get all that off your mind into this kinda format. expecting more soon!
This is a great video !! Your thumbnail is very enticing, your editing is very well done, and I really liked the message of the video! I am happy that you were able to have that experience that led to you realizing all that you talked about; good luck to you in the future !!! ^~^)/
Interesting video. It definitely has that chat to the viewer vibe as another commenter puts it and it's a simple yet wellmade video. Hope to see more soon!
This… really made me think. In a *very* good way. I’ve been in University for 3-4 years now, seeing my friends having begun jobs, get married, move into other places… while I’m still studying computer science. Life ISN’T a race. It ISN’T a destination. It truly is the journey, and I couldn’t be happier to be learning in this process. I’ve got an exam in a few days as of writing. After that, I’m taking a week off to think and learn a bit of Godot. Maybe I’ll make something cool, maybe I won’t! Regardless, I will have made progress, and that’s something special. Thanks for this video Eren. It’s really gotten me to think more closely about myself, and knowing that I’ve made progress even if I’m not done at the same rate as other folks.
This is an interesting video, especially considering how this felt like a mix of old RU-vid videos where they simply share their personal things paired with a modern-styled RU-vid video looks. Good job, Eren.
As a gamer 21 year old with major issues with procrastination, distractability, and time slippage, who loves fishing (especially in games (40+ hours in holocure, got the golden rod and never touched the main game)) and a single half-decent video with a million failed / unfinished / half-assed projects... this video resonates with me. A LOT, haha. Thank you for the message, and the reminder of that one quote. I should re-evaluate what I wanna see on the journey, maybe then the destination will get clearer. And I should really organize a fishing trip with my pals, lol.
even with a video of you talking to a camera, your editing just SHINES. different angles and backgrounds, expressive head movements, a beautiful model, sharp looking footage, great music choice, well timed zoom ins. i'm glad you've sorted out your feelings about this and thankful you've shared them with us, you're an inspiration
really needed to hear this. it was starting to come to the point where, in my personal projects, I had to force myself to work on them to meet nonexistent time deadlines... that kind of stuff really makes you not want to work on the things you want to finish! good work. glad I'm still subscribed. (also I want to know about the approach you did for the hair shader because it looks super nice)
Glad I could help you start pacing yourself! As for the hair, I made a matcap in Unity to achieve that dynamic appearance for the highlights. Took a fair bit of trial and error to get right, but it came out pretty nicely in the end hahaha
@@EreNyn3 Learned something new today! Didn't know about matcaps before; going to try it out! Thank you! EDIT: Tried it out for a cartoony glass sheen. Actually looks fantastic.
it's better to upload a video because you have something to share rather than just for growth, simply uploading at all can influence the algorithm positively, outside of that the algorithm isn't the only thing driving growth, cultural trends often operate in an algorithmic way as well and for all you know the video that you made a year or 2 ago that only got half the views you hoped it would get ends up blowing up due to social trends, by preserving your integrity and speaking only when you have something you want to say instead of exclusively doing so to garner as much attention as possible can help you reach a larger audience, that won't be all it takes, sometimes you do have to say the loud part quiet and the quiet part loud to turn some heads but by holding onto that integrity and choosing to chare things you want to share you'll more likely find yourself looking back on your RU-vid career with pride rather than with shame, it's all about balance, but keep up the good work, i know you will.
