I’d get up to speed first so a lower gear on the slip road then worry about gears once you’re on the carriageway

Hi Oliver, I wouldn't be at full speed (limit) so that you have some scope to speed up more if needed. I'd say 4 or 5 depending on vehicle

I still remember my first time on a dual carriageway when I was learning to drive. I still remember driving up towards the slip road and my instructor was going through everything as you were in this video but I do remember feeling overwhelmed when approaching the end of the slip road because I felt like there was loads going on but my instructor explained everything perfectly and told me exactly what to do. I think on my second time though it just clicked and I wasn't overwhelmed by going on a dual carriageway. Even on my test when I was on the dual carriageway I never even got overwhelmed. I really do enjoy your videos, it brings back memories from when I was learning to drive and it great to see learners progress from first getting into the car and finding the bite to them passing their test!

My driving instructor likes to throw his students in at the deep end, for want of a better phrase. He likes to get his students driving on a dual carriageway on their first lesson!! I had never driven a car before, and he had me driving 50mph! I was scared as hell, but I definitely found doing it on my first lesson lessened the nerves on my subsequent lessons. I'm on my 5th driving lesson and so I've covered left and right turns at junctions, emergency stops, hill starts and forward parking into bays. Your videos are helping me with things that my driving instructor has either forgotten to mention, or is yet to cover!!

I passed my test 2 Months ago in Australia, and now driving feels like second nature and I gained even more awareness by driving myself, what I would say is instructors give you a great foundation, and when your in your own you build off that and become a better driver

OMG! I wish you were my instructor, because as I listen to you I realise what I miss from my lessons. I 've failed my test twice already, 3rd one is coming up, have had over 40 lessons, but I think I need some clearance (talking) about things. Great video, thanks for sharing! ×

I went on my first dual carriageway before I even knew how to put it into 5th gear. It was only my 4th lesson, so I absolutely crapped myself. I passed my test early this year, and dual carriageways are some of my favourite places to drive.

That's how I get my customers to judge when they can go back to the left lane, when they can see them in the interior mirror they are far enough forward.

Drove myself home today for first time with instructor. Was mint. Did duals for first time too. Worked on my steering and now everything's fallen into place.

Currently still lockdown so my dad is taking me on a dual carriageway, it’s not my first time on one but the ones I usually go on have a speed limit of 50 whereas the one I’m trying soon has a national speed limit and safe to say I’m quite nervous 😬

Im from bradford mate im only 16 but hav known how to drive since i was 10/11 cant wait till i start drivin,havent got provisiol yet hav asked family members if i cn drive their golf gti in a back alley n such but they dont wanna risk it,i guess it will be worth the wait,

@@Go2DrivingSchool It went well, I'm learning over in Northern Ireland but the main problem is the national speed limit, over here in NI learners cannot go over 45mph and even when you past your test we have to have an 'R'plate up for a year without an option and it's restricted us to 45mph

Damn I got my test on the 24 I did a mock test got 2 serious 1 for not stopping for a incoming vehicle when reverse and the other for approaching a slip road fast Wish me luck

Passing your driving test in the UK all depends on how quick you learn, some people will take longer than others for example my partner took well over 40 hours worth of lessons and failed her test twice on the simplest of things, mean while i took my test after 8 lessons and passed with 1 minor mark. (i grew up on a farm so was driving various things from a young age)

You seem as if you talk a lot to your clients, which is good. However, it can be very distracting for the learners as they’re already under a lot of pressure.
